Like I was told years ago, if you don't learn something new every day, the day is wasted. I'm 69, going on 70 years and I learn something new every day, whether I can use it or not.
I waste a lot of days then. 😃
Live and learn. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Be safe in that snowy weather.
Dan, you ARE VERY easy going. You put up with much more than most drivers would. You are a credit to the trucking industry.
Ah yes, patience and problem solving. Love watching a truck driving Pro at work!!
I like your dog Bailey
Never would have thought about that; thank you for the info guess you are always learning; too bad the kids out there who think they know everything can not see how we old-timers learn new things every day; been at his for 35 years
I drove a truck for 41 years and learned something new every day, listen to a lot of older drivers, best teachers in the world !!
i can hear the irritation in your voice and love that you point out your ac’s with a big red arrow 😂🤣🤣 so glad you didn’t end up leaving 💰💰💰
Oh you know how irritated I was. lol
So Katie, now I have a face to the voice I talk to daily. If that's you in the picture 📸?!
@@curtismcleod5878 thats me… on a good day! at work i look like a troll 😂🤣😂
😁😁😁
Gorgeous sunrise
Learn something new everyday
Good job and a big shout out to your friend.
Anchor shackles with the pin that you can unscrew then screw back in after you get it in place or having some shorter chains with slip hooks on one end saves a lot of time on those AC units.
Love seeing drive through my hometown of louisville
It's a sad day when you don't learn something, 36 and 1/2 years trucking and I learned a lot, pull toy here.
Life is a bag of tricks, you just mastered one more.
It never fails to amaze me how much BS you guys go through sometimes. Good job staying cool.
Yes he does🚛🚛🗽🗽
@@billupstateny9151 where you at upstate Ny...Lewiston here..Wny
Good morning!
For me it's always difficult to deal with the incompetence of others. You were amazingly patient
Being patient helps a lot because when you press idiots it makes them into bigger idiots then you become an idiot talking to idiots 😂 in a whole new shit show.
Just another day in truck driving. But after while you get used to it
I worked at that Trane plant for 40 yrs
Love trucks to make the job easier!
my blood pressure was also rising with all that backing up. as neil sedaka sorta said: backing up is hard to do.
If your doing a lot of A/C unit hauling, I use shackles. Put chain through shackle then attach the shackle to the unit. Then take the chain hook past the shackle and hook to pitch pocket. Other end to binder. Holds load from both front and back movement as well as side to side.
It takes a big man to admit he never stops learning. I tell my son that so much I'm sure he gets tired of hearing it. Another great informative video. Safe travels !
You were dealing with Mass- Miscommunication !!!!!!
I love the smell of Coal burning :) My Dad used to burn it in our fireplace at home in the Winter.....And if you bank the coals right....your fire will Never go out and will produce constant heat !!!!!
I think you have the patience of Job, hang in there!
Love the hood view
That’s good information with the hooks right there. I will be doing it like that from now on. Thanks for sharing that little tidbit.
That is an old Indian trick Dan lol 😂
Tennessee steel haulers is in charge of the logistics there. No wonder it’s a mess. Every time I go there I have to go through the same thing that you just went through.
My rule was 3 strikes and I'm out. I'd leave in a heart beat in my younger days.
Really like your videos..
Dan...if you are ever in Dyersburg, TN there is a restaurant called "Grecians Steak House". They have the best fried chicken and a HUGE buffet. Try it some time if yiu are in Dyersburg.
Those little tricks are like GOLD!
i can remember when that trane factory wasnt that damn big..let alone Clarksville being that damn big
I learned “something” too…..started in 1974. Thank You. Be Safe God Bless !! H.
I saw you going down the western Kentucky parkway in Elizabethtown Friday morning about 8am I was hauling rock in a dump truck but awesome video
Your never to old to learn a new trick, thanks to your friend the Mercer driver
Thank greg
You didn't need 42 acres to turn around! LOL
Great video, highlighted the skills required to be a owner driver. Your easy going nature is one of the reasons I love watching your videos. The main reason is Bailey being very animated. Loved how he barked when you reentered the yard and got the visitors badge. I am sure he was saying "PEOPLE! get your act together. Cheers 😎🇦🇺
Bailey needs a child booster seat to see out the front windscreen. Look after your supervisor please.
Avery nice trick and a time saver too get those damn Air Conditioners off the trailer asap. They have a very stupid system there wow.
Great video sorry to see you getting the run around somebody in charge at Trane obviously does not know what they are doing, no excuse for such nonsense IMO
Cool video Dan 👍
The higher fuel prices go- the more Dan we will see!
Very informative, thanks!
I think I just saw you past my house on the Beltline Madison,Wi??? Small world..
Safe travels Dan
Pretty smart Dan good job
I love that shipper as much as you, and thanks for passing on things you have learned, as I have never thought of bending the slot either.
Thanks again Dan Teresa and Bailey. Good to get some chores done before you are back on the road, nice to have a temporary home spot to recharge where folks know ya.
It seems that manufacturers more of late treat the folks that help them get a job done are just asset numbers on a list and was this accomplished, etc. Then when they are with their peers the complaints about working, contractors, skilled labor is not like it used to be, but in reality management teams are not what they used to be in treating folks as people and not a walking tool.
I still do not know what the answer is to this structure any more...
HVAC service Tech here, now I know why all those lifting pockets are always deformed LOL..
Reading my great great grandmother's diary of 1903, she mentioned that she watched a team of six horses pulling a huge generator going to the nearby Holt Wood Dam, a power plant in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. How times have changed. You could easily haul such a large piece of equipment.
Thanks Dan
I think I just passed you heading east on 40 eat of Amarillo. You looked like you had load of light sets.
This kind of shit used to just make the steam come out my ears! Kudos for keeping it together Dan. Todd Konoske the retired trucker.
Another new video from super trucker dan I like it. From the imperial co California.
i learned early on not to get hyper over shipper and reciever stupidity. 1st it doesnt change anything, and 2nd the only thing you get out of being hyper/mad, is a headache. so was no point.
Cool
Thanks Dan For Sharling
You are a inspiration to me and my friend 🙏 and keep up the great work
Consider using a single chain on either side. Hook the A/C unit drop the chain down around the first pipe back up to the deck on either end. Put your single ratchet in the center and pull the ends. You get full WLL on the chain that way and only use two chains and binders per unit.
Dan, You are correct, never too old to learn something. You are calm and patient and a consummate professional driver.
Major, I am 72 yrs old and since I was a teenager I have felt that if I missed a day learning something it was a wasted day.
We made up the chains for our trucks with a grab hook on one end and a slip hook on the other. A slip hook would hook into that hole. You can also put a slip hook on a short piece of chain to hook to your grab hook.
Love Bailey ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️. She appears so loving. Need to come up w/a small-ish squeegee for the inside windshield & put some kind of RainEx or Fog-Ex on the inside windshield to keep the insides from fogging up
Great video from my 387 Peterbilt cockpit. Safe travels Dan give em hell
Never to old to old something new , but never to young to be taught something new as well Dan hello you and Bailey have a blessed trip and a safe drive back home and please keep the videos rolling my friend.....
That yard was a mess, Dan. Totally unorganized. I would have blown my fuses 'cause I've never been easy goin'. But I've tried to keep my tempor down most times, not always sucessfully. Pet Baylie for us, Dan. Stay safe and take care!
Neat little trick! Safe travels!
The success of an owner operator is too always take advice and have solutions not problems
Keep up the good work and stay safe on your travels 🌵👍🇺🇸
You gave me a stroke when you leaned out the door and backed with no safety belt.
Great stuff, Dan. That Dorsey trailer is looking good.
Nice that you have friends that will share ideas with you. Simple solution👍. Thanks for the info. Take care.
Another good video KEEP ON TRUCKIN 🚛 🇺🇸 👍
Travel safe, Dan!!!
It's always nice to hear when someone admits that they put their pants on one leg at a time. Safe travels Dan.
Always an enjoyable break watching your work, Dan.
It seems like it would take a lot to get you mad Dan, so I know that had to have been a bad loading experience. You never know what’s gonna happen in trucking. Be safe and take care!
Thanks for the video, I’ve hauled many of those loads out of OKLAHOMA and never new that.
truck and trailer looking good Dan,
Bailey was bouncing around don't hit nothing dad don't hit nothing with my truck dad 😂😂😁 I've been watching you for a long time Dan , Never seen you so irritated and pissed off before , I don't blame you one bit dan , I have been on loads like that Get the run around , For sure you never get too old not to learn something ,

I was in that winter storm on Friday in Collierville,tn.
Why no straps? Thanks! Safe travels!
If you can spare some of your patience, please send a little my way!! I enjoy the vids, keep up the good work.
Alrighty then
Don't forget to put the air back in the axle you go over scale you will have a problem. 😂
I’ve loaded there a bunch of times. I’m surprised you had that trouble.
Everyday is a school day for me i am 70 started driving late part ot 1972
awesome
Stay Safe
Love your videos Dan! Post some St. Louis footage.
Hello Sir. Saw you messing with your windshield and I sent you a tip few weeks back or so about using a magic eraser…you ever try?? Bit of a process to do it right but it’s money
I drove on 65 and that parkway a few weeks ago, roads are horrible south of Louisville…imo
And love or hate frustrating shippers and/or receivers, they do pay some of the bills.
TSH I didn't know that they were still around
That a boy dan Good for you. Learn and pass along and keep cool and calm when life throws you a manure filled Twinkie!
Nothing irritates me more than driving right past my load, seeing it, and not knowing it's mine.
When you started backing up at that first power plant place, Bailey looked like she wanted to go out and help spot you. Thanks for the video, Dan and Bailey.
I bet a 1/3 of the loads I pickup or drop off always had a problem wrong address wrong pick up number wrong appointment time you name it very frustrating that is one big reason I left the industry early
May the downward force be with you...
Can you tell us a little bit about Mercer is it a company that Just Tires you out with a truck pick up loads or do you look in a load load menu and pick up your own loads how does that work
