I think it was meant to be implied, but the two of them, while they do stuff off screen, I think it’s safe to assume we still need to be shown that Lapis trusts Peridot that much... right now with Peri not being able to do much, Lapis is the one that’s doing all the heavy hitting.
I'm loving the ace subtext here. I really don't want peridot to ever fuse since her not feeling comfortable fusing and deciding to never do it would make for some amazing ace subtext that almost never gets taken all the way. Ace peridot for life!

Great dub! The thing about this comic for me Is Lapis wouldn't fuse with a gem that SHE trusted with HER life. I feel like she would fuse with someone that trusted her with their life. That would make her more confident, because she doesn't want to hurt them like she did Jasper, even though we know she wouldn't, she needs just a little bit of confidence to not do that.

OH GAWD OH GAWD, ABORT THE MISSION PEOPLE I THINK I HIT MY STATION ALREADY, WE JUST ARRIVED A LAPIDOT TOWN, OH MAN THE FEELS
Others may be upset that Lapis and Peridot never fused, but I’m glad they didn’t, and this is why. It would’ve been an out-of-character fan-service if they fused; I’m glad Rebecca didn’t succumb to the temptation of breaking character to please fans. Who knows? Maybe they’ll fuse eventually. But they literally have all of eternity to do so. So, there’s no rush. They should wait until they are ready.
The voices are wonderful (as usual), and I really like the style that the comic has... but you know, I don't think Lapis would be like this. I'm a Lapidot fan myself (and a pretty wild one), so my fellow fans, don't yell at me please.
She has a pretty solid opinion on fusions, and it isn't a very nice opinion. She hurt Jasper in Malachite, and Jasper hurt her as well. She probably sees the fusion not as sharing your powers and your love (whether it's platonic or not), but as sharing your pain, your bad emotions, everything dark you hide inside. She sees Peridot as a good friend (or romantic partner, Lapidot in), and first of all, she doesn't want to hurt her (because even if you love each other, you may accidentally show your bad emotions in-fusion, like Stevonnie did). And then, she doesn't want to lose the trust Peridot has towards her.
I really look forward to Lapis&Peridot fusing, perhaps in the heat of a battle, so Lapis can finally understand fusions can be something different... And so Lapidot fans can be satisfied.

I don’t ship it, but I still liked this comic, it was really well drawn and it had pretty funny and cute moments, even though I don’t like Lapidot I still enjoyed this comic
