Max - thank you for taking the pictures and sharing them with us. A fine museum that is a tribute and a memorial to those that served. lest we not forget. The picture of the D-Day beach is a nice closing to this presentation. My condolences on the loss of your friend.
THANK MAX FOR ALL YOU DO FOR US GLUE TROOPERS.HOW MANY OF US OLD GLUE TROOPERS HAD FATHERS UNCLES,AND TEACHERS WHO WERE VETS.OF WW2 IN OUR LIVES.EVEN MOTHERS AND AUNTS INVOLVED IN THE WAR EFFORTS.OUR LIVES ARE BETTER OFF BECAUSE OF THEM.MAY ALL OF THEM REST IN PEACE.GOD BLESS AND BE SAFE CHRIS FOR NEW ORLEANS
I admire the craftsmanship that went into constructing the displays of the many artifacts, from the behemoth suspension of a C-47 from the ceiling to the cases of hand weapons that seem to float in space. Looks like a great place to visit and the only thing that could draw me to New Orleans. Putting it on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing these photos and taking the time to annotate them.
If you ever build a couple of Higgins landing craft models, I suggest you name them Zeus and Apollo. Which ones of those suspended aircraft are real? I presume the B-17E is authentic.
My dad fought in WWII in the Pacific Theater. I've been meaning to get back to New Orleans to see the museum. Thanks for the post Max! Can't wait to visit myself. As always God bless you and yours and thanks again for all you do! Model On Captain, Model On! 👍👍👍😊🇺🇸
Thank you for the museum walk-thru Max. I do enjoy the music of that era, sometimes I’ll play my collection while reading a WW2 book. Beautiful closing too.
I brought my father to the museum about 50 years after he served in the Pacific Islands, and he had nightmares for at least a week that enemy soldiers were attacking. I'm sure its happened to many veterans who have visited there.
My Grandfather joined and served with the Marines 2nd Division from Guadalcanal to Tinian were he was wounded bad enough to take him out of the war. He was very proud of his service as all Marines are, but he never would have went to the museum. He tried to forget about the war, and seldom talked about it. But it did haunt him in his sleep for the rest of his life. Seeing, and doing what your Father, and my Grandfather had to endure would give the toughest person nightmares. It was something they had to learned to live with.
great presentation Max. My last tour in Germany, I met an 80 year former German soldier, who got dispirited with the eastern front, and walked back home to Frankfort. He was fortunate to not have been shot! Also, in our community, I met a Dutch immigrant, who was captured in the Dutch East Indies (Indonesia) by the Japanese at the start of the war. He was a Dutch soldier, and spent the war working in a Japanese coal mine,. A miracle he survived. Many thanks
Outstanding!! Thank you for sharing your visit to this great museum. Timely too is so many ways. God bless our service men and women, of all generations.. Peace
Awesome! Great pics. I went in 2016 when I was there for a meeting. Great museum which was more impressive than I thought it may be. I had never seen an 88 in person before. Cheers
Great tribute to the WWII vets, both sides of my family served and fought from Europe to the Pacific, Alaska to the equator. All gone now but like all who served and sacrificed they are honored and remembered. Thanks for the post.
A fine museum, thank you for sharing it Max. If you ever get the chance to visit the Imperial War Museum in Duxford England I highly recommend it. Rest in peace George Heaney, Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

That scene with the Army Jeep would make a cool 😎 diorama to build in day 1/25 scale ...
