My E39's fluid is green/yellow, still after changing it twice (pumping out the reservoir and refilling). Car sounds like a loader, steering is heavy and you can feel the wheel "buzzing" at parking speeds. Trying to determine if the pump is bad or just needs a serious flush.
@@slothgarage Actually, I should have better asked whether the engine was off during the turning process :) This is the point where I was curious about. Do you have to crank the engine ( bad for the starter) or the engine on to do it? Even if vehicle is off the ground. I would have loved to do the turning while the engine is off. Probably not possible? Cheers
Loved the video quality and no-bull repair process.
Thanks a lot for this, wasn't sure how to remove the pipe from the cooler at the front
Thanks for this. I couldn’t figure out the hose to the coolant coil by the radiator!
Good vids , I just got a 530 D 2001 for free so needs servicing now 👍🏻
“free” lol. how much money you put into repairs so far 😂 given you even own it anymore
Nice job
Good Video.
So what is the top one for if the bottom one is power steering

Thank you for your video! Just to verify, you had the engine off throughout the process? Cheers from USA
Yeah, the engine was off until the turning process

I mean if the front wheels are off the ground then I don’t see why it can’t be done with the engine off, to be honest
@@slothgarage thanks for that 👍
WILSON!!
I was looking for part numbers with this stuff I'm losed
Try www.realoem.com it’s best way to find any part numbers.
Would this be the same process for a e39 540i?
It should be pretty much the same just it will look a different on superior 540 engine.
That white stuff is coolant not power steering fluid
👍 We have redone the cooling since then as they both were leaking.
Dextron 2 is recommended not 3....do the homework first.. Buy a Haynes manual
No issues to report using dex 3 as of yet, but might help someone else 👍
We recommend using INPA or scrolling the forums over a Haynes manual though 😊
You can use Dexron 3 in systems made for Dex2, just not the other way around.
