Phil is the major influence in my life as a Christian believer and musician although I am a keyboardist. He is in a class of his own. Thank God that He sees fit to raise up men and women that declare His light through musical expression. AND THANK YOU, PHIL, for being unashamed of The Gospel.
Being really blessing these uploads at moment. I’m binge watching and listening these at work.. thanks a million.. love Phil Keaggy all these years .. a real inspiration
I’m a guitarist. I am also a follower of Jesus. Sometime in the early 80’s I went to see one of Phil’s concerts and as much as I was fixated on all things amazing that Phil played, the presence of God was so thick that music paled in comparison and I spent nearly the whole concert out of my front row seat instead choosing to walk around worshipping God and enjoying His presence in the back of the concert hall. It was SO powerful. In trying to conceive of how it was possible I imaged that Phil had a whole church of solid believers back home praying for every concert. Phil is first a lover of Jesus, obviously transformed and informed by scripture and by wise, mature counsel. Second, he loves us and reveals God love for us. Third, he is a gifted, delighted, diligent, curious guitarist. Fourth, he is a crafter of heart-felt songs and creative compositions. Of course he is also a husband, father, friend and neighbor. Hmm. There should not be an autobiography but a biography of Phil Keaggy. It should not be a book about the details of his musical journey but a book that somehow captures his life a bit in a way that is aligned with what is his most powerful impact - the love of God flowing through him. Perhaps a poetically organized inner journey that captures choices and blessings, times of submission and entreaty, etc. A book that captures the inner topography of his faith life laid out with nature photographs, musical transcriptions, photos of underlined verses in his Bible, photos of spiritual mentors and family. Chapters about transitions and how God eventually revealed His path through some difficult times. There is something here. …(all of a sudden realizing I painted myself into a corner) should I? Me? Contact him? No! Not me. But if someone else were to write the book then perhaps THEN I could contact him to get the ball rolling.
Love you and your family. I’m from Austintown graduate of fitch 76. Christian since 1969. Loved hearing you and Pete York play on the edge of the old fitch high auditorium!!! Remember those days? Never actually met you but follow you🎉 I’m a Floridian married to an amazing man from South Carolina. You are so amazing Phil thank God for your impactful inspiring ministry.
I've see many interviews with Phil and every time I learn a little more about his journey. He is a great talent and I am so encouraged with all he has been through his faith always has stayed in the center of his life.
Phil in my mind, is in a small group of modern master musicians. Just an amazing player, singer, writer. It was great hearing this interview, so interesting. Thank You!
Thumbs up, guys. My first guitar was also a Sears Silvertone. Beautiful finish, but brutal on my fingers. Good times! Phil, I’ve always enjoyed each time I have both seen and heard you. Keep playing and believing!
Last time I saw Phil was with Paul Clark at Sheldon Kallevig's church in Mid town KC, Paul used to lead our worship at 55th & oak sometimes~ Paul and Phil are special people~
Gregg Allman's first guitar was also a Sears Silvertone. His brother Duane appropriated it, and after that there was no stopping Duane. But Gregg did all right with the Hammond B-3.
Such a great interview such thoughtful questions I really enjoyed it, the sound quality when Phil sang and played guitar was pretty lacking but I wasn’t watching it for that
Phil's got a very special sound on his guitars that no one else quite captures. Wonderful artist!

Phil is one of the finest musicians and guitarists of our time. So inspiring.

Do you know if any of Phil Keaggy's releases on "Keaggy's Garage" are available on CD?
