I would say the Heisei Gamera films have a lot more problems in their story, characters, and monster scenes than the Heisei Godzilla films. Sure Gamera revenge of iris looks better, but what it actually presents in the film is practically nothing in it's story or monster scenes.
You also have the fact that the Heisei Gamera films fail at doing what they set out to do with having Gamera be good, yet his very existence is destroying the earth and humans.
Also Koichi Kawakita said the Heisei Godzilla films only had double the budget of the 70s showa godzilla films, so I don't think it's correct to say the Heisei Gamera films had less to work with when it's probably the opposite in terms of budget, time restrictions, and artistic restrictions.
I would say the Heisei Godzilla films are better in practically every way except when it comes to the animation in Gamera revenge of iris.

To explain myself, the head of GMK is pretty much perfect with the white eyes. The rest of the body is mid. It looks like he has a beer belly and his neck is freakishly long. He genuinely looks like his ‘Son of Godzilla’ design and the less said about that the better.

In my opinion there’s no scene in the Godzilla franchise that’s as terrifying as the scene in GMK where Godzilla is by a grocery store. Stops what he’s doing to turn and look at everyone fleeing for their lives, changes his position so he’s facing them and charges up his atomic breath. That scene hasn’t been topped for me yet.
Edited note: honestly I think the whole critique of the late Heisei films relaying of beam battles is somewhat overblown. Sure they do relay on them but look at the final battle of Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla, that final fight has SpaceGodzilla launch crystals at Godzilla, use his telekinesis to pick up and launch Godzilla into a building and even use the tip of his tail to stab and throw Mogura

@@minicle426 The reason why GMK Godzilla is one of the scariest incarnations of Godzilla is because he’s essentially a zombie. The film explains that this incarnation is possessed by all the people who fought and died in the Pacific conflict, the films words, which makes this Godzilla easily the most vengeful and downright evil version of the character. GMK is one of the few Godzilla films that shows Godzilla going out of his way to attack and kill people, there’s the scene I mentioned above with the grocery store. Then there’s another scene where Godzilla walks past a survivor of his attack on a house on Odo Island, and he slams his tail into the hospital

Godzilla Guy is not reliable. He doesn’t power scale. And he admits it. He is the worst at vs debates. The best people to go to for accurate power scaling are Goji-Chronic, King Of Godzilla and Godzilla King Of The Monsters. As their scaling of Heisei Godzilla is proven to be the most consistent. I like GxK. There are some quality’s that could be better. But I believe it’s a good Godzilla movie. It does not have “God-awful writing” the plot makes sense, even if a little out there it’s still consistent and good. I think during the whole movie Godzilla’s presence is felt, until he joins the fight. Godzillas sub plot is not bad I like it. I don’t like. Bernie tho to me he’s the only bad character. I think the rest of the humans were good. The monster action is incredible. While skar king wasn’t stronger than Kong that doesn’t mean he wasn’t intimidating. He doesn’t rule like Godzilla. Godzilla rules through raw power, Skar king rules through fear. Disobedience is punished with death, or torture. He abuses all his subjects and shimo. He is a savage villain and I like him. I just think that people expected this movie to be super serious. It’s not a serious movie. It’s a fun movie. And if you want to see the “ worst monsterverse movie” go back to 2017

4:26 Ok no offense but bro said nothing about the story itself, he just mentioned the message of the movie and gave no explanation to why the story itself is good, I understand Godzilla movies are campy and such, but I feel like there was a definitive limit with Godzilla's revenge/All monsters attack. For starters I feel like making it take place in the dreams of a little boy is the equivalent of destroying your college essay by saying, "and it was all a dream". I also feel like the movie did portray a good message, but just because it portrays a good message it doesn't mean the story is gonna be over the top campy, I would prolly feel different if this story was downgraded to a kid's book or possibly even a novelization as I feel like this adds nothing to the series itself, take for example Godzilla vs Hedorah, sure it still sucks and the message is hypocritical in the sense that Godzilla is a giant polluting monster himself, but here it seems like the message was loud and clear even by including a theme song in the beginning while also benefitting Hedorah as a Godzilla villain to add to the series unlike Gabbara who is technically a Minilla villain more than anything, has a bit of a lazy script to the story behind him and he most likely doesn't even exist in the Godzilla universe as a canonical villain as he was a fictional character inside the head of a little boy.

I've got a take for you!! Let me be clear, I am NOT about to start trashing Akira Ifukube!! He is one of my favorite composers of all time for his work on the Godzilla series. He obviously wrote the definitive musical themes for most of the kaiju in the series, and I am always giddy when I hear his music accompanying its respective monster. He is to Godzilla what John Williams is to Star Wars.
HOWEVER!!! When talking about the music for the Godzilla series, I wish people would throw some due respect to the other composers that have lent their voice to the series!
For starters, Michiru Oshima!! She wrote three of the best soundtracks in the entire franchise, those being for Megagurius and the Kiryu films. She could have just used Ifukube's theme for Godzilla, but instead, she took a shot and wrote a new theme for him. Instead of the in your face fanfare of Ifukube's theme, her Godzilla theme is subtle and creepy at the start before ramping up. Her theme for Mothra in Tokyo SOS is beautifully majestic and melancholy. And IN MY OPINION, she managed to outdo Ifukube with her theme for MechaGodzilla, writing (again, in my opinion) the definitive theme for Godzilla's metallic doppelganger!
    And it's not just her!
Masaru Sato's scores for films like Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla 1974 manage to convey a lighter tone while still feeling fun and action-packed! Also love the moments of tender sweetness in Sato's score for Son of Godzilla.
Alexander Desplat, Bear McCreary, and Junkie XL have all shaped their own cool vibes and themes for the MV!! Hot take, but I don't hate Junkie XL's theme for Godzilla. Is it Ifukube? No. Is it still catchy and work for the character? In my opinion, yes.
Shiro Sagisu's score for Shin Godzilla is incredible with pieces like Persecution of the Masses, Who Will Know, and Black Angels, conveying the apocalyptic horror of that films version of Godzilla.
Naoki Sato's subtle score for Minus One always gets me misty eyed with tracks like Divine, Elegy, and the unnamed and unreleased track that plays when Shikisima tells Noriko about what he saw on Odo Island
Kow Otani's kickass one off score for GMK, Takayuki Hattori’s emotional, cosmic, and epic score for Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla (as well as Godzilla 2000 and the anime trilogy), Koichi Sugiyama's unsettling and tragic score for Biollante, Reijiro Koroku's understated but powerful score for '84, and others I may very well be forgetting!!
I'm sorry this is so long, and I'll understand if you can't read it all in a video lmao. I'm a composer myself, so I'm really passionate about these brilliant composers getting their due love.
    To summarize my hot take:
Is Akira Ifukube the most important musical voice for Godzilla? Yes.
Is he the only musical voice that has mattered in the series? No. There are others, and they deserve more love and respect than they get!! 😄

The worst MonsterVerse movie is Godzilla 2014, by far. It was actually making me angry with how bad it was. Any time an interesting character, plot development, or monster fight threatened to happen, the movie turned away to the boring dude and his boring family. The best MonsterVerse movie is Godzilla: King of the Monsters, by far. It was the perfect mix of monsters and humans, where the human story actually drove the monster story along. Kong: Skull Island is probably the biggest attempt at a real movie, and it's okay. Godzilla vs. Kong was sh*t, but the fanboy power-scalers who actually took the whole "team" thing seriously made the whole movie even worse. Godzilla X Kong was hilariously bad and that made it awesome. Skar King was such a hilarious dick. But I agree that it should have just been a Kong movie. The MonsterVerse was also missing a movie between Skull Island and GvK... Specifically the movie they alluded to at the end of KOTM where the Titans are all converging on Skull Island and Kong as to fight them off before taking on the boss monster.
Also: Final Wars is amazing. It's a ridiculously, cheesily great remake of Destroy All Monsters, which is one of the most fun Showa films. I love the Showa Era in general, particularly Invasion of Astro Monster, Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Battle in Outer Space, Atragon, Dogora, and King Kong Escapes. Shin-Gojira is the scariest/best Godzilla design. Void Ghidorah is the scariest/best Ghidorah design. MonsterVerse is the best Rodan design. Every Mothra is good EXCEPT MonsterVerse. Kiryu is the best Mechagodzilla.

Your take on the newer Doom games is just bad. Saying that it doesn't feel like doom is just wrong. Are you going to tell me that Doom 3 is more Doom then Doom 4 or Eternal? Because that's a good joke! I've been a Doom fan for almost my entire life, probably even more-so then Godzilla. So if there's anyone who knows what Doom should feel like, it's me. and 2016 and Eternal is absolutely what Doom should be! and the whole "Grabbing demons and punching through them is gimmicky" (Which I think the term your looking for is "Glory Kill") is just, uhhh. Okay I'm also not huge on glory kills ether. i find them cool when I first did it, but seeing the same animation play over again. But Gimmicky? All you have to do is press one butten, and you've already done the glory kill and your back into the action. And it's not like there long either. The average glory kill animation is 3-5 seconds, and if you think that's too long, your just impatient. the longest glory kills are about maybe 10 seconds or probably lower then that. Did you even play the same Doom Eternal as everyone did, or did you just forget to turn off the Doom mod for Call of duty bo2? (AKA The midest game ever made) Even if it is just you, it just you using a "Get out of criticism free card" Because you claimed to be a Retro Doom fan, when the only thing you need to do to remove the realistic graphics and replace them with pixelated graphics. So if the newer Doom games don't feel like Doom to you, hate to break it to you, but your not a fan of Doom (Retro or New) your a fan of Doom 3.

It’s just not my cup of tea. I really didn’t enjoy it but I don’t really like a lot of FPS games. You weirdly project that I love Call Of Duty or something but I don’t really like those games either. My most played game on Steam is Out Of The Park Baseball, an MLB GM simulator. I’m not an expert on FPS games. Never claimed to be. I’m just sharing my opinion because that’s the point of this Let’s Argue series. These are all just opinions at the end of the day, they’re subjective.
I played the original Doom as a kid and loved it. To me, that’s Doom. That shouldn’t take away from your enjoyment of it. I hate the glory kills because they’re repetitive and gimmicky. The overall feel of the gameplay isn’t like the OG game and just doesn’t work for me. It feels more like a generic FPS with great music and the Doom aesthetic slapped on. That’s just my opinion. If you like these games then cool. I’m glad someone can enjoy something I can’t. Getting this upset and mad at someone for their opinion on something as minor as their preference in video games is wild dude.

@@FirewoodMediaTV Again, the newer Doom games are basically just more modern version then the classic games. So I don't understand how they don't feel like doom, even if it just you, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Also I said that Glory kills aren't the best simply because they are very repetitive, but they are only used if your low on health. But how are they gimmicky? What's wrong with adding new gameplay mechanics in a sequel, especially because everyone whines if a sequel is even remotely similar, but when a new game does add something new, they whine because it's not like the other games. Also, The game does not force you to glory kill, it is completely optional. I've never understood critising something that's optional to begin with. The newer doom games ABSOLUTLEY DO NOT FELL LIKE GENERIC FPPS! I cannot believe you just said that! I just don't think you've played them properly! It honestly just makes your take even worse, when you say shit like this, even if it is how you feel! As a life time fan of Doom, that statement is actually insulting to me, to the developers and the publishers! If you tell me that Doom Eternal is just anouther generic call of duty or battlefailed game, I will laugh so HARD that I'll die because of suffocation! I get that is your opinion, but it's a bad one!
