I just recently seen skillet live it was awesome and I truly believe they are doing what God has called them to do and I support there boldness to go and take the love of Jesus to the world in such away that people and young people can relate too it is important that we stand for Jesus in a world that is trying to keep us from that and even putting us down for what we believe I believe we have to go into the world and love as Jesus did and present the gospel in a way that people are going to understand not wavering away from the gospel but putting in a way they can understand and get it !!! People need to stop hating on Skillet because they are so-called "secular". They hate on them for participating in secular rock concerts. But think about this. Our mission is to share the Good News right? Well how are we supposed to do that without meeting anyone? Think of not being able to play in at secular concerts as not being able to talk with anyone except Christians. John Cooper has even preached in a secular concert! Thats a piece of proof that John's a Christian because it takes a lot if faith in Jesus to speak openly to thousands of people, especially in the world we live in today. This is a very good example of how the Pharisees in Jesus' time acted. People are ranting ' ohhh Skillets not Christian!' and' Skillets doing it for their own glory!'. Pharisees acted like jerks. Now modern day civilians are acting like them too. They're going around discriminating Christian rock saying, blah blah blah, when really, they're not any better and probably listen to... Drake. If Christian rock was banned by God, you'd have to say goodbye to Skillet, RED, Thousand Foot Krutch, Flyleaf, Tobymac, Evananscee, some of Hawk Nelson's songs, and a lot more. I guarantee that you like listening to at least one of those artists. I can understand why young adults despise the church now. Legalistic Christians that take the laws of Moses WAAAAAAYYYYY to seriously. The guy who sings with her on that track is Paul McCoy from 12 stones, another Christian band. The song is very much her singing to God to save her. Either way, the OP has it right. We are called to reach out to the world, you can't do that by ways staying inside the walls of the church. They reach more people by touring with secular bands.....but also notice, they aren't falling into the lifestyle of those secular bands. They stay strong in their faith and minister to the people who make up those other bands. I think that's what Christ wants us to do. They know not to fall into the temptation of that Rick and roll lifestyle, they are trying to turn the others around, and that's awesome!

He usually waits a bit and they ask him about it. And then he has a chance to share it wit them. Now when he plays with non Christian bands and is performing in front of fans he usually tells people about How Jesus is his hero and how Jesus is who he lives for. He tells the meaning of their song hero and how Jesus is his hero.
Satan himself will say he is a Christian if he can get you to the other side. They have made a choice to sing songs that sound like the welcoming wagon in Hell. Heaven will not be segregated by music preference.
