    I've had the Smash mechanical pencil for a while and it's one of my highest ranking one. Wish I had the Smash pen.

    I love the smash! Can't believe I never knew it was available in a ballpoint. If it used a g2 style refill I would definitely track one down and drop the money to get one.

      @@unsharpen I can't recall you doing the Rotring 600 pencil, but if you haven't that'd be great! (The underrated 500 would be cool too.) Pentel also has some other great pencils out there like the GraphGear 500, and the Graph for Pro (Graph 1000) which I especially like. There's the infamous Alvin Draft-Matic which is also great with a sharp as hell knurling. There are also Kuru Toga's which have the revolutionary spinning tip as well as Zebra with the Delguard (Standard, ER, and LX models) with the lead breakage resistance mechanism. These are some of the pencils I have been interested in for years now, but have never got to buying. Sorry for the long paragraph of a response :p

    "You get the point." when talking about the point size indicator on the ball pen. Lol

    In your opinion, which one is better for long writing and drawing sessions, pilot s20 or smash?

    I wish it would come in 0.7 dang. I wish more mechanicals had a 0.7 option because I prefer 0.7 leds for everything and I recommend legit art erasers for 0.7 or 0.9. I am searching for the ultimate mechanical pencil for myself to help save my wrists for more instrument playing and stuff.

    So a little confused, on the pencil version can you put different size lead in it or what is purpose of changing the indicator?? Thanks for your help!

      It’s a hardness indicator so you know the type of lead in the pencil (hard, soft)

    Ordered the " Smash " about 5 years ago via Amazon shipped from Japan. Paid 5.50 for it and free shipping. Up until around 10 months ago it was great until I noticed on the top, the " bellow " push button was developing wear and today the plastic/ rubber bellow button has a tear in it, probably from extreme temperature changes espically in the winter, but it still works great. Oh I forgot to mention it's the 0.5 mechanical pencil. Watch out and try not to drop it. It's not pocket friendly.
    As for the pen, I've never seen it before. What size cartridge comes with it ?

    Do you happen to know if the D1 that you talk about here comes in a point that is 0.5mm or less?

    • @unsharpen
      @unsharpen  2 года назад +1

      Sure sxr-80 comes in .38mm

    • @anthonynelson6671
      @anthonynelson6671 2 года назад

      Thanks, I have some other pens that have that same size tip. Makes me wonder what motivated a .38mm size point versus a .4mm or .35mm point. As a lefty I love the point size, it's just seemingly an unusual number to land upon and say "This is the right size."

    4:34 interesting... It's more expensive than kuru toga

  • @malonecapone2

    This one cost about $8 to $10. There are some with different colors which go up to $18 to $20 and I'm trying to justify if they are worth 2X the price although there's no difference other than the color. Thoughts?

    • @unsharpen
      @unsharpen  3 года назад +1

      They are all the same, some colors are just more rare. Not worth it in my opinion but some people collect the smash and love the different colors

    • @malonecapone2

      @@unsharpen thanks for that. I feel the same too. The Uni Kuru Toga Roulette which feels more solid and presumably writes better with the rotating mechanism is priced lower than this Pentel. I have a hard time deciding whether to get one even for the basic model.
