Alan is a danger, first his follow distance was too close AND he wasn't paying attention and rear ends somebody. Then a car drifts into his lane, but instead of anticipating, holding back, braking and using the horn, he instead almost causes an accident by pulling in front of another vehicle. Adan you need to hand in your licence or take some defensive driving lessons.
This Alan guy seems to be a menace on the road. He did almost nothing both times, and let a situation go from bad to dangerous before deciding to take over, causing harm one time, and almost causing harm another time.
4:28, the lane change may have been tight, but it was perfectly safe. The dashcam car had plenty of indication that the truck was turning but still decided to maintain full speed
But but but poor David! He had to wait a few minutes to pass! I'll bet the truck's camera footage was checked by the company showing David trying to speed up and slip in. That's why they didn't contact him.
I find it interesting how all of these Tesla Autopilot accidents seem to happen when the drivers of the related Teslas aren't paying attention to their surroundings. It is as if these accidents could have been avoided if these said-drivers actually drove responsibly and didn't lazily blame Autopilot for their own mistakes. Food for thought~
Or they are more willing to admit they weren't paying attention since, if you were paying attention, it should be nearly impossible to crash on auto pilot. Fun fact, in about 41% of car accidents in the US, the driver was either not paying attention, was distracted by internal or external events, or had an inadequate view for driving. Then another 33% accounts for Speeding, taking a corner too fast, driving recklessly, driving too close to the car in front, and general poor decision making. I think it's fair to say that Tesla owners are just more honest about what's on camera and in Tesla's database than the driver who has no recording device, nor is their data automatically sent back to their company. It's essentially the theory behind bodycams for the police. You're more honest when you're being held accountable, especially when Tesla has a history of not giving a shit about the dead and releasing all the logs proving the kids essentially deserved to die.
@@ryanthompson3737 You are missing the point of my comment, so apparently, I will need to communicate more directly with you: The drivers STILL made the mistake of not driving responsibly, which caused the accidents that we can observe in this video. Furthermore, admitting fault doesn't absolve the mistake from happening nor does it negate the results of the mistake; tThe drivers still responsible for their mistakes, even after they have admitted their own faults. And what slanderous accusations you are spouting regarding Tesla now?! What proof can you present to me that proves what you say is true regarding Tesla, supposedly saying that _"kids essentially deserve to die"_ ??? @@rossdavis428 Oh I get it, so you're just a crying to cry? I mean, how do you explain you whining over something that occurs in over 40% of car accidents even though Teslas get into 20% as many accidents as every other car on the road? These drivers get into less accidents PERIOD, so your point holds no merit since, regardless of WHY it occurred, half of all accidents are still caused this way (with 33% being speeding and cornering, shit solved by AP), and Tesla's get into 1/5th as many accidents per million miles. Also don't know how you think you can remove 60% of the reason accidents occur and suddenly that 40% won't fill up that 60%. What happens if there is no other way to crash but by looking at your phone? 100% of your crash stats will be people sitting on their phone. TLDR: The data proves Tesla drivers get into less distracted driving accidents than the average amongst every other driver. And It was a like a texas story of some teens crashing into a tree. Re-read up on it and he didn't release the logs because the NHSTA used it in their investigation. The only thing that came out of it was Elon declaring they read the logs showing the teens were in the back seat.
And that wasn't a tesla point about kids deserving to die, that was my point. If you drive a car while sitting in the back seat, I feel no shame declaring that you deserve to die whether you're 16, 25, or 60. If you're purposely reckless, you deserve the outcome of that recklessness.
Love the videos! Multiple occurrences here said the Tesla driver wasn’t paying attention. We can’t forget that even with Autopilot. I always assume someone’s going to run a red, cut me off etc defensive driving is the best strategy. ✌🏼✌🏼

I never understand why people don’t adjust their speed preemptively for merging cars exactly for this reason. People are far too trusting 🤦♂️ I’ve seen so many cars merge and then immediately swing across all lanes straight into the left lane. Avoid driving next to other cars if at all possible, not cruise right up next to merging cars! Sorry for that Mercedes, although the Mercedes could have predicted and slowed down as well seeing that the merging car was headed straight for the Tesla who wasn’t slowing down either.. Three cars not paying enough attention 🤷♂️
I think the three biggest takeaways I have are. 1.) Tesla drivers like to cruise in the passing lane. It’s reserved for passing, not cruising. If you want to cruise do it in the other 2 or 3 lanes. Don’t get mad or act shocked when people are upset because you’ve been a road hog and retaliate. 2.) Autopilot is great, but Tesla drivers clearly don’t pay attention to their surrounds and react when the car beeps or takes evasive maneuvers. I’m not saying every crash was avoidable, but a lot were if the drivers were paying attention and not solely relying on auto pilot. 3.) Never stop on the interstate, if traffic comes to a halt in your lane change lanes. If you can’t change lanes have an exit strategy in the event the car behind you is unable to slow down in time.
Yes, totally agree with you. Drivers who go the speed limit in passing lane is wrong you must be passing other cars, stop causing accidents and traffic. Look up what causes traffic on RUclips it will help explain if not go read the dmv hand book again about passing lane.
If that got filmed around here in the Netherlands, Alan would be at serious risk of being charged with reckless driving and definately would get slapped with deliberately causing an accident if anyone hit eachother. It also showcases how Tesla autopilot turns people into dangerous bellends: They just hog the middle lane with the broken beta software turned on, not paying attention at all.
@@fredpuntdroad8701 well, the initial failure was the car coming from the right, who was to me the reckless one. the tesla only didn't pay enough attention, same autopilot and driver. but breaking only a little bit would have been enough and far less dangerous and showcases how beta the autopilot still is. to your second stanza i agree completly!!!

Number 17 I had happen to me last week... except it was a Tesla that merged onto the road and crossed over 3 lanes of traffic without using his turn signal, checking any of his mirrors, or his blind spot and only looking in front of him(or at his phone) while he was merging, cutting off at least one other person in the process and nearly taking out my right front wheel and quarter panel had I not slammed my brakes(at which point I also rammed my fist into my horn to attempt to make the Tesla aware of my presence and the accident he almost caused). I was well within my lane, going within the speed limit/speed of the flow of traffic around me and at 6:30am there’s not as many people out yet so everyone typically is pushing a few mph over the limit(then there’s the occasional BMW or Mercedes drivers who for what ever reason feel like they have to/can punch near 80mph in a 50/55mph zone at 6am and slalom race around everyone). I did not floor the gas to block the Tesla from getting in front of me, I maintained my same speed the entire time(until the Tesla cut me off) and I was already there in that lane as the Tesla started to merge into the first lane and I was easily visible to the driver of the Tesla had he actually looked before merging The Tesla driver was completely oblivious to what was around him and did not react in any sort of way to me blaring my horn for a solid 10-15 seconds because he had just nearly cause an accident had I not been paying attention... he just kept coming into my lane like nothing happened then proceeded to slow down to near 10mph under the posted speed limit for no reason whatsoever(other than probably on his phone), further pissing me off so I just merged into the lane next to me and passed his slow ignorant ass without any further confrontation(ain’t no body got time for that crap on the way to work early in the morning). He stayed at that slower speed way after I had passed him bc I saw other cars in my rear view mirror merging into other lanes to get around his slow ignorant ass as well.

@@ryanthompson3737 You are missing the point of my comment, so apparently, I will need to communicate more directly with you:
The drivers STILL made the mistake of not driving responsibly, which caused the accidents that we can observe in this video.
If they had been driving responsibly, then they would not have gotten into their related accidents.
I would know; I've driven for 20 years and have never been in an accident that I have caused.
Furthermore, admitting fault doesn't absolve the mistake from happening nor does it negate the results of the mistake; tThe drivers still responsible for their mistakes, even after they have admitted their own faults.

You are surprised that there are stupid people? Also if this "ALAN" dude is in the first clip and probably many other clips too right? When you are so stupid stupid that you can't even operate a vehicle safetly, you end up getting in many close calls and car accidents. You would think someone who makes enough money to afford a tesla would be smarter. Too bad your job doesn't represent your intellect such a shame just use some of that money to buy some books.
yeah alan doesn’t have many brain cells

Alan seems to have an aversion to the brake pedal, along with his car's autopilot. Not a good combo...

On the other hand, might all your claims to Alan's incompetence be referring to another action; that being riskily setting the follow distance too low, thus assuming that autopilot will brake for all obstacles it encounters and not giving himself adequate room to react when autopilot doesn't?

I was well within my lane, going within the speed limit/speed of the flow of traffic around me and at 6:30am there’s not as many people out yet so everyone typically is pushing a few mph over the limit(then there’s the occasional BMW or Mercedes drivers who for what ever reason feel like they have to/can punch near 80mph in a 50/55mph zone at 6am and slalom race around everyone). I did not floor the gas to block the Tesla from getting in front of me, I maintained my same speed the entire time(until the Tesla cut me off) and I was already there in that lane as the Tesla started to merge into the first lane and I was easily visible to the driver of the Tesla had he actually looked before merging
The Tesla driver was completely oblivious to what was around him and did not react in any sort of way to me blaring my horn for a solid 10-15 seconds because he had just nearly cause an accident had I not been paying attention... he just kept coming into my lane like nothing happened then proceeded to slow down to near 10mph under the posted speed limit for no reason whatsoever(other than probably on his phone), further pissing me off so I just merged into the lane next to me and passed his slow ignorant ass without any further confrontation(ain’t no body got time for that crap on the way to work early in the morning). He stayed at that slower speed way after I had passed him bc I saw other cars in my rear view mirror merging into other lanes to get around his slow ignorant ass as well.
Jeeeessssuss fucking christ.
people should not own a car that expensive while being that stupid
The Lucid Air appearance was a big plot twist!
I'm here for the videos, of course, and the soundtrack. Excellent choice, buddy.
It would be great if Tesla also honks as it gives warning beeps 🙃
4:27 They never called back because David was the idiot not paying attention. 10:51 Let me guess that is the same David? If so David needs to take some driving courses and remain off the road until finished.
Yup, David needs to pay more attention. The truck driver had his turn signal on. Always be ready. I drove Simi Trucks myself there's way to many blind spots while driving a Simi Truck.
Exactly. Wham bam puts these clips on for the comments. Ridiculous. Don't promote idiots
Yup David is an idiot for ignoring the truck driver's signals. The trucking company should have called David back and tell him that the footage showed that David was an idiot.
@Breached Penguin you don't seem to understand. Not going to argue that.
@Breached Penguin Boy you got a lot to learn about road etiquette. Signal on and the space was there. It isn't the truckers fault if the Tesla rear ends him.
4:10 fake police moment. Maybe cartel.
Thats a ministerial police they use Dodge ram and Tahoe but they are corrupt, in my state the ministerial police they kidnap and extort people and the government does nothing and they are how the same thing then a cartel they had AR-15 and short guns like Beretta and Glock and if you go to México and you see a lot of rams or Tahoes probably they are police or a cartel
Tesla autopilot is the only reason I have a dashcam
All of these incidents could've been easily avoided with:
Attention
-Basic defensive driving
And... Knowing how to manage time behind the wheel.
The yellow Tesla guy enraged me though... Far more worried about his battery with wheels than the car he totalled and it's s driver.
When a Tesla hits a Honda, is that still considered a #HondaBump?
Or is this what they call a #TeslaTap or perhaps is it a #ReverseHondaBump?
I agree with you. It literally destroy that Honda but the narrator of this site glossed over it. As a Honda owner I'm getting tired of hearing #HondaBump
@@klaraifyable this guy only does it when the Honda is at fault never with Tesla lol
3:54 Judging by their behaviour, there's a good chance that that was a police impersonator.
Why would you ever have your follow distance set to one….
Going through a construction zone in dense traffic. If you have set it to more than 2, people are cutting you off all the time. However, when the speed increases again, it should be obvious that you shouldn't be following the car in front that closely.
Why is that setting even allowed (max minimum should be 3) in the UK setting 1 (maybe 2 as well) would be classed as tailgating
@@leexgx Depending on your speed, just about any setting below 6 or so can be classed as tailgating. At 80-120 km/h, 4-5 is about the correct distance (according to the rule I learned here in Germany). City driving: 3-4.
As I said, the settings 1 or 2 are for special occasions...
@@realulli at every setting the actual follow distance increases as speed increases.
Thanks god for Tesla saving Juan from almost dying hitting plastic cones
#9 awesome avoidance!
11:16 Yeah I don't really approve him with brake checking that guy actually. You're now in fault as much as the other driver since he could've crashed into you or lost control and hit the barrier or another car if he wasn't paying attention
first Alan.. now David with the brake check...forget the Honda bump this is the Tesla Terrors
This episode has a good amount of bad offenders and some good learning material. Not going to mention names since others have mentioned them.
As much as I love Tesla, I am VERY excited to see more Lucid Airs on the road. It's about time Tesla had some serious competition in the luxury EV space
This channel is great! Keep up the good work!
This is so scary that there is people driving cars with autopilot activated and not paying attention or even sleeping...
#17 respect for David, always good to give karma to a reckless driver.
3:06 is why you need Lidar and radar. I didn't even notice that that was an upside down car because of only one light working
Better demand it back because tesla claims it's not needed.
@@-----------------------------its expensive and does not work in rain. its also ugly because it sticks out
I feel like tesla drivers are getting a little too comfortable with autopilot
This vid alone is just a lesson that says "just because it can be automated, doesn't mean it should be"
Supercool work
Imagine making fun of Hondas bumping into teslas, now look who’s bumping into who🤣🤡
How do y’all feel about lucid my uncle ordered one but I got my model S coming soon too with the yoke wheel so I’m interested to see how it will be different since they are the same price and compete with each other
If Alan had not tried to avoid, the damage would have been much lower if any ...
He should have hit the brakes in both situations
Tesla car is a save car ever
That Mustang is slick
2:50 is stupid. If they were driving another car, they probably wouldn’t be sleeping.
11% of drivers say they have fallen asleep at the wheel within the past year. Probably a lot more fell asleep and didn’t realize it or admitted it.
You are right.
No. 1: Every god damn Toyota Corolla got Lane keep assist these days, so they would not have ran off the road.
No. 2: They probably would have hit the "traffic barrels" on the road in another car, but I think as a European who only knows cones and plastic posts that your American construction barrels are as well as our systems DESIGNED to be run over in case of a driver who doesn't pay attention.
So the Tesla didn't save their lives, but rather some sub 5.000 dollar damage to the car. People inside should be completely safe hitting these things, even in a city car.
TLDR: The Tesla prevented some nasty damage to the outside of their car, but not their lives, or at least not any more than any other car does. Sorry Tesla fans, Autopilot is nice, but in that case there would not have been any life threatening situation anyways. It is not like there was a tree or concrete barrier.
@@derwolf200 I think it really depends how far the car keeps going after the barrels. At least in Europe, those barrels switch you to another lane but then there's something concrete barriers put in place to protect road workers.
I'd hope the barrels would wake these guys up though!
Wham baam teslacam, Can you make a just #Hondabump please? I think it's gonna be good video!
#TESLABUMP 😂 Im a Honda owner
LMAO
What a save !
The autopilot in Teslas aren’t perfect but I’m surprised at how smart it is.
