I loved watching Happy Days growing up, and I still do! I always felt like
the Cunningham's would had been the kind of family I would have wanted living in my neighborhood when I was growing up. Seemed like a much simpler time, at least it appeared so. It's no wonder I see reruns of the show now and still feel such a strong connection to that time period. With everything the way things are today and not knowing what the future may hold for anyone of us really. I could only hope the younger generation could have something as special as Happy Days was for me, for them to have to look back upon too. Never be another episode of those Happy Days shows, but just maybe some creative young person will create
a new version of an old classic, just with different actors & actresses..
but of course I don't know they could ever find anyone else as cool as Henry Winkler, 'The Fonz" was..Ayyyyyeee!! I really
loved that show, it was a
    favorite, that's for sure!!

From what clips I've seen there was plenty of overacting - I guess it was part of the show's charm.

@@pHD77 Yes, it was cheesy & yes, it literally invented "Jumping the Shark" (cultural term when a show has outstayed its welcome on TV) by having The Fonz genuinely (in the context of the show itself, although Henry Wrinkler's claimed to have never driven a motorcycle in his life, yet he's able to fake it as too-hip-for-the-room greaser Fonzie) jump over a shark tank with his motorcycle, but still...they were still _Happy Days_ ("These days are ours. Happy & free. Those Happy Days! These days are ours. Share them with me. Oh, baby! These Happy Days are yours & mine...") for all involved, from cast and crew (starring: Ron Howard [Richard "Richie" Cunningham], Henry Wrinkler ["The Fonz" Arthur Fonzaerelli aka Fonzie], Marion Ross [Marion Cunningham], Donny Most [Ralph Malph], Anson Williams [Warren "Potsie" Webber], Gavan O' Herlihy & Randolph Roberts [the dual brothers Chuck as the oldest Cunningham child & sibling, who promptly disappeared after season 1], Erin Moran ["Shortcake" Joanie Cunningham], Scott Biao [Charles Arcola, shortened to Chachi, who's Fonzie's longest-tenured cousin & Joanie's "Wah Wah Wah"-ing husband by the end of the series, even if their intended spin-off _Joanie Loves Chachi_ didn't take off with audiences like anticipated, which was part of why they came back in season 9], Pat Marita [idealized Milwaukee's drive-thru restaurateur Arnold before he landed his defining role in _The Karate Kid_ as the "Wax On, Wax Off" sensei of the main character], Al Molinaro [always sighing "Big" Al, who took over joint ownership of Arnold's Diner with Fonzie after Arnold had left], Richard Levin [Melvin Scratch], Denis Mandel [Eugene], Harris Kal [Bobby], Cathy Silvers [neighborhood gossip starter Jenny Piccalo], Lynda Goodfriend [Lori Beth, Richie's girlfriend], Linda Purl [Fonzie's later seasons stable single mother girlfriend], Heather O' Rourke [the ill-fated _Poltergeist_ child star was the on-screen daughter to Linda Purl's character], Ted McGinley [Roger Phillips, who subbed in for Richie as ever-rebellious Fonzie's "straight man" for the last few seasons until Richie returned], Crystal Bernad [K.C. Cunningham, Mr. C.'s niece], Billy Warlock [Flip, who's not only the Cunningham's nephew on Marion's side, but he's Roger's younger brother, too], and starring: Tom Bosley as Howard Cunningham, plus guest stars like Robert Hart [Bobby Moore's studio replacement of _The Lone Ranger_ Fonzie's own personal celebrity hero], Robin Williams [alien Mork from Ork who would soon helm his own sitcom _Mork & Mindy_ with Pam Dawber as Mindy], Penny Marshall & Cindy Williams [Laverne DeFazio & Shirley Feeney of _Laverne & Shirley_ recognition]...and Gary Marshall [series creator & brother to Laverne's actress Penny Marshall]) to all fans - both the live studio audience added midway during the 2nd season & us viewers watching from home - included.

My Dad was like Richards dad’s soft easy to talk to about things in life and what to do about it. A great family man father and loved his kids He passed away in my arms and I we’ll always miss and love him and after he passed on my mom lost her.well to live on. She had dementia and it was a lot worse after he passed she lived about six more years and passed away and I was there for her to and my wife. God bless them now up in heaven and they are not suffering on earth anymore. They where both about 90,s and marriage for 67 years or so all there life too. My dad was in WW2
    Thanks 🙏

Gary Marshall was the high school classmate of my high school's librarian, Mr. Denton. So he had him come to talk to the honor roll students at the height of Happy Days' success. I have fond memories of watching the series and have watched it again on DVD. Most of the television shows produced nowadays lack quality, storyline, acting and characters. That's why we purchase the entire series on DVD and watch old episodes online.

Watching this special in 2019, 27 years after it first aired on ABC, the surviving actors haven't really aged much since then. There was another reunion that ABC aired in 2005 that Henry produced in which Erin Moran and the 2 actors who played Chuck Cunningham appeared.

Henry said "We were all together at the end." Not exactly. Donny Most and Anson Williams were oddly absent from the finally. It was a little empty without Ralph and Potsie.
