It’s better. As we now know, the new redesigned BMW’s are hideous. You don’t need anymore power than this for daily driving. The M cars are for track use not a main vehicle. This car also has AWD and so can be enjoyed all year long.
Thanks for all your hard work Joe and Lori! Yall helped me realize that any newer BMW would be a great purchase. So I found an angel eyed red on red F30 335i for a great price and overall value. There will be a new convertible BMW or Merc coming soon to the collection.

You make so many mistake. That grille is not standard on m340. It is black 330 grille that just they happen to put it on this car after delivery. The standard is the mesh grey grille. Glad I am not the only one that noticed the hard surfaces for the armrest and center console. For me, I’m not a fan of the seats. The leather felt hard, and the driver’s seat wasn’t the most comfortable for me (felt firm). I’ll also disagree a bit on interior quality. Scratchy material on the visors, and the buttons in the middle console felt cheap (when pushed, the entire panel moves). I so wanted a 330i, but I ended up passing on it for a lot of these reasons (drive was also a bit tougher than I like).
This car starts at 55K perhaps you should have mentioned this is a heavily optioned one. Also my god how many time are you going to say it’s not an M car. We get the point. However for many people this is the sweet spot for price/performance.

Yeah I agree with these in line 6 and BMW is known for that 6 cylinder. Nice 382 Hp but I wish BMW would of gave 405 HP and 406 torque just like the M2. Also maybe would be nice to put XDrive all wheel drive on M340xi better not M340i. Definetly needs handling as well and those exhaust better quad exhaust.
As a 2011 335 xdrive msport owner this will be my next CPO bmw!! 2-3 years old 35k-38k I’m sure- I wonder if the m package is just visual cues like the prior models or if it has any performance upgrades over the non m340? Oh nm their is no plain 340 hard the 330
Got my first car from Ferman Mini so it was fun seeing those roads again... I've been looking at this car, but i''m a tad bummed it doesn't have cooled seats standard.. I mean come on BMW, my wife's Telluride has that
382 hp? I think that's more than enough for on road performance 😅 So I would take this and the front end looks of this? I think they DEMOLISH the M3's front looks 😖
Here's a question for Raiti's Rides. Many years ago, I had the glorious pleasure of owning a 330d M Sport Coupe. I loved that car... However, I used to be able to plug in my iPod Classic using a cable. I'd get the full listing of my iPod and it would also charge it up too. So. Can you still do that now or does everything have to be by WiFi as the old iPod Classics do not have WiFi? PS Great video. You went into a lot of detail too. I really do love this car. I has everything I could possible want from a car. Speed, safety (4WD.), comfort, looks et al. :-))... Sadly, I'm in the UK and not the USA but now, I couldn't even afford one due to disability. Ho! Hum... :-((...
To answer the title question, “no, it’s not remotely the same”. No criticism of the M340i but they are totally different drives and can serve very different owner’s needs. As an M4 owner, I test drove the 340i and, as you would expect, it’s far quieter, much smoother and not hyper sensitive on the throttle - it is certainly quick off the line and it would be far more appropriate as a practical family car than my M4. No way I’m swapping though!
Got 2022 bmw x6 xDrive 40i (340 hp). Big car but pretty unpractical, not fast either. The price was 72k. I like fast driving with good acceleration from strat up. I wonder if it makes sense to get new 340i. I know it is smaller, but should be so much more fun to drive. Oh, I woukld lke not to put any more $$ into the trade if possible.
Germans always make top end quality cars with interior , exterior and engine, while American sports cars are focused on 0 to 60,power, engine noise with absolutely plastic interior , bad designs , extended handbrake and shift handling....
The exhaust style same (2019 Lexus is) it’s beautiful so finally they change the mid console because the old one in 2019 like 2014 so perfect, and same m8 so only m4 and m5 will make it like this style console and headlights 👍🏻
I didn't see a dipstick under the hood, Supra with the same engine has one right? Just watched Papadakis Racing video of tearing the engine down and it also doesn't have a dipstick. Have to drive for a while to know the oil level from the screen inside.
decent review, I drive the 2022 M340i myself and second all of this, just that I upgraded my exhausts and drive the 19 inch low profile tyres, and I save 0.3 seconds with 100 octane (claimed) fuel. so for me it was 0-100 in 3.9s with my stuff loaded in the trunk like my cricket kit, etc. All in all, nice review. Do check out mine that's coming out as well. and yes, ill wait for your comments as well.
And yes, a small correction, they come with adaptive LASER lights as standard and not LED lights at least here in India. and nice to know the Bavarian flag detail, I did not know that after owning 3 BMs...lol
What would you recommend? A used 2018 BMW M4 or a 2020 BMW M340i. Same price and both have really low kilometres!! Need help can someone please share your choice
I guess it depends if you want a true M car. If you do of course you go with the M4. Both cars are great and the M340i has a good deal of horsepower. I have the 330i and won't hesitate to trade it in on either one of these cars.
Polar Bear thank you for replying!! I think I’m leaning towards the M340i now after several days of thinking. Only because I’ll be driving the car daily and it’ll be my only car so probably a safer choice with the added practicality of 4 doors. If it were a weekender car I’d definitely take the M4 😎 it would be nice to have both though!! Wishful thinking 😆
He really wants us to know it's not an M hahaha! I totally agree with him though! These M badges are getting out of hand, pretty soon they will slap them on a 320i...
So I'm guessing that wheels is only for 2020..?? I went to bmw build ur own car on 2021 that wheels isn't available or its not on the options or this wheels is aftermarket one..??
It’s not Bavarian Motor Works; it’s Bayerische Motoren Werke....embarrassing. Anyway, what’s the story with the laser lights? Does anyone know if the US is any closer to getting the full-power laser headlight option, like in Europe?
I opted for the wood paneling inside exactly because of that glare. Love the car though - it's a great driver's car and mine optioned is still $20K cheaper than an M3
Agree with you on the glare I have the aluminum trim on my 340 and glare is brutal have to leave that storage compartment up. Pretty surprising BMW messed that up. I got a great deal on car in inventory so could not select wood trim. Only other "zonk" I would give is the narrow tires on xDrive all season models. 225 just too narrow for the power of engine.
Im confused about the grill. In Canada the 340i Grill is not the same as the 330i. In your Video it is the Grill of the 330i which I like better!! Do you understand my question? The 340i s ive looked at have the grill with almost like stars on it. Ugly

You should have raced the Tesla lol I would have loved seeing that 14:25
Nestor Gonzalez would have gotten burned
That sounds really nice!
The Real Brendon its very poppy!
I mean come on BMW, my wife's Telluride has that
I bought this car for my daily couple weeks ago, pleasantly surprised how much better it is than my f30 340i was
I am so glad that you are enjoying her!
Do a review on the 2020 M550i “poor man’s M-5”
The M550i almost makes the M5 irrelevant.
Awesome car, black on black is so elegant
khalil Abu Kabeer I totally agree with you!
382 hp? I think that's more than enough for on road performance 😅 So I would take this and the front end looks of this? I think they DEMOLISH the M3's front looks 😖
67k? I’ll pass and take a black S4 with red interior premium plus for 56k
Ho! Hum... :-((...
What’s the difference between m3 and m340i?
Is the m340i just a 340i with a M package
yes
Is this the B58 engine found in the Supra?
yes it is
What’s more fun to drive, this m340i or the Dodge Challenger scat pack widebody? In your opinion
Thanks and still lovin the 3 series
Got 2022 bmw x6 xDrive 40i (340 hp). Big car but pretty unpractical, not fast either. The price was 72k. I like fast driving with good acceleration from strat up. I wonder if it makes sense to get new 340i. I know it is smaller, but should be so much more fun to drive. Oh, I woukld lke not to put any more $$ into the trade if possible.
The BMW m-series always look good
Beautiful. I live in Palm Harbor and know these streets. If you want twisty roads you need to go to Odessa and Patteson rd or Boy Scout
Can you review the new forte gt?
Amer Ha I just filmed it today so stay tuned!
@@RaitisRides awesome, can't wait!
@@amerhabbab2818 It's a great car!
Germans always make top end quality cars with interior , exterior and engine, while American sports cars are focused on 0 to 60,power, engine noise with absolutely plastic interior , bad designs , extended handbrake and shift handling....
I love the engine sound, I wish the bumper was completely black without chrome
Good idea!
The exhaust style same (2019 Lexus is) it’s beautiful so finally they change the mid console because the old one in 2019 like 2014 so perfect, and same m8 so only m4 and m5 will make it like this style console and headlights 👍🏻
Dreams are to own one came wat one day .I love bmw m3 and m5.massive
That grille doesn’t looks stock where did the best one go with the brushed metal?
How many times are you gonna say you're 6' tall...lol
Believe are not people actually keep asking me. LOL
I love it. I have the m240i which had the same engine and gearbox.
ChipZilla69 it doesn’t have the same engine as the m340i
@@AidenRZ777 yes it does. B58 engine.
I didn't see a dipstick under the hood, Supra with the same engine has one right?
Just watched Papadakis Racing video of tearing the engine down and it also doesn't have a dipstick. Have to drive for a while to know the oil level from the screen inside.
My next vehicle, I don’t care I’m goi my to find a way to get one once my lease is up on my current vehicle!
decent review, I drive the 2022 M340i myself and second all of this, just that I upgraded my exhausts and drive the 19 inch low profile tyres, and I save 0.3 seconds with 100 octane (claimed) fuel. so for me it was 0-100 in 3.9s with my stuff loaded in the trunk like my cricket kit, etc. All in all, nice review. Do check out mine that's coming out as well.
and yes, ill wait for your comments as well.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing that ownership experience!
And yes, a small correction, they come with adaptive LASER lights as standard and not LED lights at least here in India. and nice to know the Bavarian flag detail, I did not know that after owning 3 BMs...lol
awesome review Mr Zonkist
Thanks for letting me share it with you! I think I like that! LOL
Better than the infinity coupe for the same price.
BMW step up their game. It certainly looks, sounds, handle better than the Kia Stinger or Genesis G70. But it is also more expensive
@@bmw4lfe Indeed, you bring up a good point about a daily driver, way more practical than the M4.
He gives the best reviews
Very simple interior. i love it
Finally someone who knows what view drivers want to see, and not look at the face of the guy reviewing the car as he drives it 😮😊😊😂😂
That is so awesome of you to say!
You are correct!
I'm I the only one who notices that beautiful blue M850i? I can't wait for that review.
It’s not Bavarian Motor Works; it’s Bayerische Motoren Werke....embarrassing. Anyway, what’s the story with the laser lights? Does anyone know if the US is any closer to getting the full-power laser headlight option, like in Europe?
Definitely needs a flat bottom wheel!
BMW should learn from Audi and MB ugh
Easily mod to do aftermarket. Save money on your payment.
Yeah, the popping sounds are pretty cool. I need to get me some Rice Crispies sometime soon too.😕🙂🤓🤠😎😏👍✌️👋👏💪🌾🍀🌿🍃🇺🇸
Great review
Thanks Gustavo!
Thanks for your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Im confused about the grill. In Canada the 340i Grill is not the same as the 330i. In your Video it is the Grill of the 330i which I like better!!
Do you understand my question?
The 340i s ive looked at have the grill with almost like stars on it. Ugly
