Great review! I love my new Alpine White M340. The blacked out grill looks so much better. FYI with some effort I managed an amazing 6.9 litres/100kms on a trip from Ottawa to Kingston Ontario and a shocking best of 5.1 litres on commute to work (17 mostly highway kms). On a car with almost 400 hp and 369 lb/feet of torque!! Unless I'm mistaken those are the same 18" 796 M wheels I have with my winter tires. The summer Micheline PS4S tires came on 19s. Highly recommend this car!
I enjoyed your review: you hit the highlights and traumatized your kids! 😉 When I was on a test drive, the sneaky salesman put it into Sport as I was pulling onto the highway and that closed the deal!
Family Wheels, Nope! I prepare this M340i than the MB C43... I have a 2018 340i ///M performance and love it for my daily car for work. Will see how’s the new ///M3 will go!??
Great review ! Really wondering how much the adaptive suspension softens it up when in comfort…test drove one last week and wife found it a little harsh…. Adaptive could help seal the deal - she preferred the 540i
@@FamilyWheels Haha, just saying. Personally i think the 4GC and the A5 are probably more useful (and nice to look at) than a standard sedan. Two plus points there. Although i was really astonished by how large the trunk of the new 3-Series is.
Beautiful car but hard to justify the $20,000 more than a fully loaded G70. The larger back seat room is nice though. Trunk space in the G70 is pretty functional even though it's smaller. I can fit my full golf bag across the back and two suitcases behind it. Great review. The kids loved the speed.

@@MNlittlerat I know right? I got mine in October and I'm still looking for excuses to get out and rocket down the highway. Wife: "Oh crap we're out of milk!" Me: "ON IT!!!"
LOVE the M340i, just wish they didn't use the "M" in vain like that when it's not a real "M" car. I love the way you have yours setup, that exactly how I'd get mine too, same color, same interior color with the same options. There are 3 things I do not like on it though, 1, the grill closing/opening feature and 2, that they charge a subscription for Apple Carplay and 3, that they do not offer Android Auto. Good to know they no longer charge for Apple Carplay in the States anymore. I'm personally waiting till year 3 or so for them to fix the Android Auto and whatever issues it may have to buy mine. Never buy the first or second year model.
NutNbutSpeed I agree that the M brand is diluted with the M performance lines. I was more shocked to see the AMG badge on a mid level car as well as an appearance package for the base cars. Unfortunately that's what the carmakers do to boost sales. Despite that, I love the M340i as my daily.

The engine is phenomenal in sport mode but the ride is stiff and my passengers complain constantly. Your kiddos are young and in booster seats..wait until they are teenagers and can feel every bump in the road. (Disclaimer: I'm a middle aged dude in NYC where the roads are awful...)
Yeah, Oz has been getting ripped off for years. And now with the dollar struggling I don't see it changing. Is the 'luxury car tax' still a thing now that virtually no cars are produced domestically?
@@FamilyWheels yes the govt just can't stop this gravy train... the easiest way to generate income for them.... so this M340i LCT is about C$7k.... that's a nice option pack gone..... plus state govt stamp duty of C$3800.... another option gone

About 2 weeks of ownership here. My little boys love the car. So much fun to drive.

Is it suitable with a 10 month old baby as a daily ?
@@aps19423 Definitely. I is a very spacious and safe car. Just don't drive it on sports mode when you have your baby in the car ;-).

What a car! Just love the inline six BMW's

Absolutely stunning car as always from BMW
Definitely, that is shot in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Sure is 🙂
In Canada myself, and I appreciated all of the Canadian pricing details and comparisons with the 330.
That's actually a decent price for the features. I was expecting it to be over 100k Canadian.

Oh, and Apple Car Play is free for us now too. BMW took a lot of heat for that attempted cash grab.
Outstanding fuel economy from an absolute beast of an engine! I loved this car too, this week I’m in the Genesis G70 and the M340i is a level above.
Best looking and much more family friendly is the touring wagon unfortunately not available much outside of Europe.
Love sport wagons!! Canada gets the E63 AMG at least but the BMW would be great.
Apparently brakes are another practical feature in a car 😂😂
I know right, they should be mandatory on all cars!!
That is a BMW thing. Brake packages. Never seen that before buying my BMW. They also charge extra for paint color.

Depends what you value. The G70 is nice but this thrashes it in every possible way when it comes to driving dynamics. It’s not even close.
