Fantastic. Ridden the west coast many many times and this brings back fond memories. Been about 5 years since I took the time off work to go here and this series has inspired me to go back asap. Thanks! Inspiring stuff.
Thoroughly enjoying watching this series again, along with your NC500 series from a few years back. Its helped me greatly in planning my 1st trip to this beautiful part of our country in Sep 2021. I'm ashamed to admit its taken me nearly 50 years to get it done!!
Hi TMF, what a beautiful ride you are on here. The views are awesome and I really love the drone shots. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us!
Doing a similar tour this year after returning to biking after 16 years at 60 years of age on a Tracer 900GT, thanks for the inspiration, doubt we'll get your weather but you never know.. prepared for all eventualities with some Rukka gear, no excuses, just point it north and ride, can't wait!
Oh many thanks for allowing me to relive a recent visit to that awesome island. Magnificent views abound and your drone footage is really enhancing the on road shots.
Drone footage views are spot on👏 Nice to see the places like you said couldn't walk down to have a look.. the lighthouse looked stunning. Brilliant video once again thank you for sharing.
Well done TMF as usual. Excellent series, beautiful scenery, and the drone footage is spectacular. Nice addition to your videos. Keep up the good work, your channel and VeeFour's channel are in my opinion the two best for anything motorcycle related. Thank you for your excellent work, much appreciated.
I filled up my camper at the same petrol station you did, near the Skye Bridge, but going in the opposite direction to you. I thought fuel on the Island would be much more expensive but it was the other way round and a miserbale women serving too. We went to the very top of Skye and on the way back climbed up to the Old Man of Storr, it was very wet and windy up there too, and in the clouds.
Stunning drone footage, TMF. I loved your even-handed appraisal of your hotel: ".... miserable host but the bacon was good." Very enjoyable series. Thank you 👍
Excellent video matey. I was up there on the bike, at roughly the same time as yourself. It was very busy with motorhomes, and white vans. I opted to wild camp, on a very secluded beach, on south west coast, at a place called Tokavaig. Stunning. Really need to get back up soon. The Eillan Donan castle, was used in the great movie, Highlander, with Sean Connery and Christopher Lambert. It truly is a stunning castle, amazing location, and my favourite castle by far. Thanks again for yet another cracking video. I’m off to watch episode 6 now.
I’ll chime in with the others and say the drone footage really kicks your videos up a notch. Just superb. I’ve been to Eilean Donan castle and it is the most photographed castle in Scotland I learned. I also have family in Banchory and Aberdeen Scotland which I visit often. A small world indeed. This video series has been amazing!
Absolutely stunning scenery! Great drone shots too. I'd have to spend a couple of weeks on the island, my camera would be working overtime!! Thanks for taking us along with you TMF.
This was the last video I watched last night to put me in a pleasant and relaxed state. The drone footage is great, and really adds to the overall content.
Me and my husband always enjoy your touring videos especially in Scotland, we love it there but we've only gone as far as Fort Augustus so definitely want to do Skye and further north.Love the drone footage and a bit of music for a change. We stay in bnbs when we tour and it's so important that the hosts are friendly, none of your viewers will be going there now so that's their loss! Can't wait for next Scotland tour and Norway 😀
Was up on Skye last week and did exactly the same route Stayed in the king's head which you drove past on the way to the bridge. Temp last week was 27oC. Crazy, nearly to hot for touring. All in all I did 4 days 1117 miles and 4 Ferries. Loved every minute. Will be back for sure.
Great stuff Mr Flyer, I did Skye/Applecross etc 3 years ago (Sep15) and enjoyed weather much the same as yours. Sad thing was I was in the car with 'er indoors and Mutley! Well not sad really loved having them with me, but must visit on the bike with the boys one of these days. Great Drone too - look forward to last episode! Cheers - Dude
Andy great moment the skoda overtakes you! top man for leaving it in the video, but fab video . Going too visit a friend on isle of skye with my brother, seeing this video just want's to make me go now! GREAT entertainment as usual many thanks steve
Top stuff TMF, you're certainly selling the attraction of the western isles. Leaving the key in the ignition whilst taking photo's, not something you do very often I'd imagine.
Loving the drone shots TMF, look forward to you getting some shots of it following you on the bike. Eilean Donan castle is stunning (BBC used it for an ad and I think it has been in a bond movie too) it was around 30 degs when I visited just over a week ago. The road from there to Loch Ness is brilliant fun and lots of cracking views.
Wonderful ride, enjoying this series. Have a look at some of the many GS Vintage videos. French guys riding the alps, also fantastic roads and scenery with better food.
Wonderful footage. I love a good drive it makes me feel so much more mobile than I am. You are getting really good with the drone, however, don't spank it too often, they can be very sullen. This is lovely country. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
Quite a few of the sites you visited I remember from a trip me and a few mates did in 2003, the only difference was it was lashing it down most of the time. You were very lucky.
He He I remember when there was no bridge and the only way across to Skye was by a small RoRo ferry from Lochalsh across the bay. Much better now the bridge has been built. Next time your up try Uig and take the CalMac to the Outer Hebrides, some lovely scenery to be had in North Uist, Benbecula and South Uist.
Your really making me consider getting a drone , I live in Scotland myself but it's really quite something seeing it from the drones perspective. Awesome stuff and great content, thanks 👍👍
Just finished my own trip to Skye and onwards up to Gairloch via Applecross. What a fantastic trip! Worth the effort from here where I am near Portsmouth. Watching your latest instalment only makes me want to jump back on and go back for another go. Like you I found accommodation expensive, my B&B was also £125 per night, but great quality. But £125 per night!!! Supply and demand I guess. Stayed 2 nights, so was able to tour the whole island. And I was lucky enough to have the unheard of tropical weather, most of my rides felt like I was in the Swiss Alps, not the far north Scotland.
You were right about the Western Isles, episodes 4 and 5 especially. The place truly doesn't disappoint. However, North Coast 500 still got a slight edge over it for me, it's the rugged beauty and inhospitable expanses of that northern part of the country (and in that weather too) that really gives me goosebumps. I guess you and I are just wired differently. hehe :) Btw awesome drone shots of the Skye bridge and surroundings in the sunset, you outdid yourself on that one. 👍
You have good eye Mr. F. Looks like you've been studying other people's drone footage to see what they get wrong. Eilean Donan castle is one of the most photographed spots in Scotland. I've not read all the comments here, so despite the fact that plenty of people have already told you, the castle was the home of Connor MacLeod in the original Highlander movie.
OK OK TMF!!! This is just not fair any more, I need to do Scotland again in good weather!!! What a fantastic trip you had in Scotland. I dida solo tour to Skye in 2004 in very similar weather and it's still one of the best motorcycling experiences I've ever had, despite having travelled the length and breadth of Europe since. If it's any comfort, I couldn't find accommodation on Skye either and, in desperation, I knocked on the door of a (full) B&B and asked if they knew of anywhere... The upshot was a night in a council house on an estate in Portree - The old dear that owned the place was lovely - and spoke fluent Gaelic. The breakfast was huge and staggeringly good, and the room very decent and clean. Total cost was £16 - incl breakfast! Curiously, the only hotel room I could find back then was £120/night too... Incidentally, these drone shots are bloody amazing. What drone and how many quids did you have to part with? Or have you done a video on it and I've missed it?
I love Scotland, did John O Groats while staying in Inverness a few years ago.Only gripe was all the sodding 4x4's on every road. Once my "flexy friends" have returned to positive flows I intend on chucking a tent on the back of the bike & doing a tour of some of the more remote areas(saving cash by "wild camping") Having been "brought up" on camping(mainly Yugoslavia)holidays,& scouts/cubs etc I have no issue with tents(regardless of weather)In actual fact,I spent 3-4 months living in a tent during winter as I'd had a falling out with the family. Really enjoying this series BTW,giving me ideas on where I might be tempted to venture. RSMF
Loved the drone footage around the Skye Bridge. Brilliant! Overall your drone footage has been smooth and clean. I'm not really a fan of drones in general, however your use has been excellent. Just about the right amount. Nicely done TMF!
Really great series and some great shots! Thats our next tour,!!!..... done Glencoe and Fort William 2 weeks ago. Love your videos mate! Kev in Newcastle
The adventure continues with, again, very beautiful scenes. You keep on giving. I love it. I have Dunlop Roadsmart 3, a nice compromise between grip, durability, riding quality etc. Drone shots are getting better, by which I mean: more interesting composition.
First class again Mr F. The drone work is epic. I rode the same route back down Skye to the bridge but it was raining and the visibility was poor when I did it exactly two years ago. You were so lucky with the weather. You have made me clear my diary, going to head up there in a fortnight just hope the weather holds out. You missed out on a couple of spots or roads. Plockton which sounds like it should be in Yorkshire but if I remember correctly is not too far from the bridge on the mainland. And of course the road to Applecross. Always worth a detour.
Having recently stumbled across dronage by other RUclipsrs, it makes me appreciate your talent all the more. The Norway trip is bound to be a blinder....as long as the ballistic rain holds off!
Thanks Paul - I wonder what other dronage you're referring too??? ...and yes, I'm hoping the Norway trip will give me lots more opportunities to fly the little beast! Stay tuned!
I've been skye many times but never seen the 'quiraing' only found it by local Uig cafe owner told me of this place... drone heaven on clear day..cheers from dave
Some of the scenes from the drone are something out of a film set. Superb👍
Thank you...
You definately need a silent waste gate on that TURBO SNEEZE :)))) . Fantastic series THANKYOU .
Wow! Kyleakin has grown over the years! And so has Kyle of Lochalsh!
Kyle is pretty well kept, the ferry slipway is very peaceful now.
Fantastic. Ridden the west coast many many times and this brings back fond memories. Been about 5 years since I took the time off work to go here and this series has inspired me to go back asap. Thanks! Inspiring stuff.
I catch myself watching your adventures over watching the tv... thank you for taking time making the videos and for your time. From the US.
Brilliant!
Thoroughly enjoying watching this series again, along with your NC500 series from a few years back. Its helped me greatly in planning my 1st trip to this beautiful part of our country in Sep 2021. I'm ashamed to admit its taken me nearly 50 years to get it done!!

I think that the practice with the drone is indeed making perfect. The pan to follow the bus was particularly smooth.
Glad you noticed Daniel! Thanks
Very nice roads and stunning scenery. Biking bliss.
It sure is - if you catch the weather right!
Glad you like -em Russell!
I have to say, TMF, that those drone shots are an excellent addition to your tour videos, and the music is absolutely perfect! Cheers!

Loving these tours and the drone shots. Keep them coming!
I filled up my camper at the same petrol station you did, near the Skye Bridge, but going in the opposite direction to you. Very nice, love the evening drone footage around the Sky bridge. The weather was fantastic for you! Best day so far! 😊

You can indeed - thank you...
Just finished my own trip to Skye and onwards up to Gairloch via Applecross. What a fantastic trip! Worth the effort from here where I am near Portsmouth. Very nice trip. The drone footage just adds that little bit extra. Really enjoyable, must bring the Strom over and do some touring.

Fantastic, as always. Getting a dab hand with the drone now, good work sir 👌
Yeah i think I may have cracked it :0)

The adventure continues with, again, very beautiful scenes. You keep on giving. I love it.
I have Dunlop Roadsmart 3, a nice compromise between grip, durability, riding quality etc.
Drone shots are getting better, by which I mean: more interesting composition.
For somebody who is supposed to be learning how to use a drone. You’re doing a fantastic job mate. Great stuff.
Thanks very much, think I may have cracked it now :0)

Yes I did think about Plockton - and of course Applecross is already ticked off my list.....
I obviously need to look at the back catalogue.
Still need to go up to Scotland 😍
