Applying ice cubes directly to your face can damage your skin and cause irritation, redness, and ice burns. The freezing temperature of the ice can damage your skin's barrier, strip it of natural oils, and slow blood flow, which can deprive tissues of oxygen. Doing this can make your skin more prone to moisture loss and environmental damage, and can cause permanent damage if it progresses to frostbite.
If you want to try icing your face, you can try these tips to reduce the risk of damage.
