Man, if the camera didn't pick up the beauty of the colors of that wood, that cabinet must be absolutely stunning in person, considering how gorgeous it looks on the video.
I’ve always called those extra details “fussy,” but “jazzy” sounds more fun and less judgy, it’s my new go-to word from now on! What a wonderful gift, Happy Mother’s Day!
It is very jazzy that you were able to put into words what I've been struggling to explain to people in my life for so long! When you said "I'm not a wood-worker, I'm a maker," it really resonated with my own journey. Now wood isn't my medium (which is why it is so thrilling to watch people like you take a literal tree and turn it into something so beautiful) but I just love making things and really resist the urge people have to label it. I just love to make and to learn all sorts of new skills that come in handy in all sorts of amazing and unexpected ways. Thank you Jonny for bringing so much beauty and happiness into the world!
Good to see other LEO's doing woodworking. Woodworking has kept me sane over my career of 25 years and counting. When I retire in the near future, my goal is to open my shop and mentor current and former first responders with PTSD in woodworking. Great build. God Bless.
Oh Jonny it’s beautiful AND jazzy too. This is the first video of yours I’ve seen but I’ve subscribed within the first 5 minutes. And mate you can talk all you want, your work is beautiful and a sight to behold and your banter only adds to the joy of watching your videos. I could never even imagine building something so beautiful, big Aussie hugs to you for creating such a beautiful Mother’s Day gift . Hugs from down under
Jazzy. Three things I've learned: 1)Slow leads to smooth, and smooth leads to fast. 2) The more I hurry, the more time I lose screwing up. 3) Knowing when it's good enough, and being willing to stop there, is better than trying to make it perfect. Every time I apply these principles to a task or project, it succeeds -- eventually.
Jazzy and I love the extensive narration. I hate playing charades with youtube videos...Love the way the piece turned out, great job and Happy Mother's day!
I love the jazzy commentary - must be in the minority but I think it just shows who you are as a person and your love of wanting other people to jump into making or something new they haven't managed to start yet. It's gorgeous :) Loved it. Love the koi addition too and having watched the dining table before this one (oops) I'd say yes, it was the best choice. Good on you for getting it done in a week (and 34 mins) and definitely smashing that challenge out of the park!
Man, I am a teacher that has left teaching due to the current dilemma of education. Insert your own beliefs here. I probably agree with you and if I don't that is okay! My father, stepfather and I worked with our hands and built/fixed stuff ourselves as we didn't have a lot of money. I had no idea what I was going to do and you sir have given me something to build, pun intended. I love building things and am from what I gather not a people person, according to my wife, ha! I think I will make some chairs and etc., etc. and sell them. I live in Texas and a lot of people love the rustic farm house thing. Thanks so much for what you do!
I love watching your videos. I am disabled so I will never be able to make anything that you do but I get great satisfaction watching you showcase your talents. Thanks from Ireland!
I love your show. Some people don't understand that working with machines takes another level of skills and ideas. You have definitely moved to the next level. 🎉
I was a Journeyman electrician before becoming a designer, but a woodworker started in high school. Iam 76 today and woodworking is still a love. I also am a builder, and weld regularly to include metal wherever necessary. I love this project, and the Coy fish was an excellent addition.
You said you only had a week to build this for mother’s day, but you released this jazzy piece a week before mother’s day. Congrats on making your goal of building in a week, but if you had delays, you could still release ON mother’s day a week later. {;-Þ
JAZZY Don't listen to the haters, who say you talk too much. I think you have a great voice and explain everything perfectly!!! Absolutely love this cabinet!! Thanks for sharing. ❤❤
Jazzy! I ran a CNC Router for 17 years, although I never got to build really cool stuff with the router I ran. I built school furniture, desk tops and crappy 36 x 72 to trap table tops and 36" to 72" round table tops. Everything vanear and glued tops. What you built was really awesome...
Love your videos. This was a great one because it was for your wife. I love the builds when we get to see the people the piece was built for. Keep up the great work...
Honestly you were so gitty you looked like a child so excited to show off their little creation when you were showing your wife her new piece. It was cute and you can tell you love your wife and were excited to give it to her. I love that and it goes to show how much you care about her and her opinions. Just want to say that you guys are awesome.
Thank you for your service!!! Beautiful! Forget the other people. Do what you feel you have to do! I love the bobbleheads. kind to each other. Stay safe. Love to all
I love how you explained welding as a welder i think you explained it well. I love wood working welding and anything arty. Welding is actually very easy to learn for anyone but not a lot of people love working with hot slag. The hardest welds are yhe most fun including overhead, vertical, and brother in law pipe welding. Each weld is always unique and even if it looks bad at least you tried and you can always learn better techniques for better welding.
When you started cutting those fish into the doors i was like “what have you done!” And the epoxy fills didnt quell my anxiety either. But the final product was simply stunning. Just the right amount of flair to make it a masterpiece rather than overwhelming. Can’t wait to see the accompanying table in the next build
pretty jazzy work. I must admit, this is my first time watching a video of yours and you got a sub for it. When you said this was not one of your "talking heads" videos, I really hope you keep up the format of this video. It was really good.
Amazing stuff, therapeutic, and the small bits of pearls of wisdom you keep dropping randomly are more than welcomed, so keep em coming, only wish I could do something about the merch sitting out here in India and hopefully someday get you to make something for my home. More power to you all, my best. Much Love 🇮🇳
It's a beauty and you can really see on your face how important it is for your wife to like what you made for her. Very cool man. Her smile was genuine!
Jazzy, yes. But totally worth it. It's incredibly gorgeous. Excellent idea adding the koi. They really add a bit of pop! And that wood is just beautiful.
Very Jazzy. Interesting that you made this for your lovely wife for Mother's day. I just did my first epoxy project, charcuterie board, and giving it to my wife as well. I am enjoying you builds as I like doing more than just wood materials as well. My current project is a bar cart using copper pipes for the shelf railings and push handles. Looking forward to the table build video coming up next. Happy Mother's day to all the Mom's out there.
I absolutely love how you go from using a CNC router to a draw knife, back to a track saw and then a hand plane. (Not exactly that order but you get what I mean) Just getting the best tool for the job you're about to do. That really is my style too. Many times, nothing beats a hand plane. But I wouldn't start any project without my circular saw.
That is absolutely gorgeous and maybe the best piece you've ever built. The Koi are wonderful. The base is reminiscent of a Tori Gate. She obviously loved it.
Jazzy narration, brilliant design, brilliantly done, jazzily presented! Adding the wood inserts to the steel was great, and the koi are beautiful... if JAZZY!
Outstanding build, you have excelled yourself on this one. I love the doors, they are just perfect & your wife loves it which is an absolute bonus. Well done. Cheers, Don from South Australia.
JAZZY! I love that you use all of the walnut and not cut out the sap wood. I know you needed to utilize as much as you could, but I've seen so many other woodworkers call this junk and get rid of it. That detail and texture is one of my favorite parts of walnut. But to each their own. Lucky wife, this is absolutely phenomenal piece of work. Also, thank you for your police service!!
As JAZZY as it might be, my wife and I watched the video on Mother's Day, and we both found it to be absolutely gorgeous. Happy Mother's Day to your wife. I hope she will get many years of use out of her new and beautifully JAZZY buffet.
I loved this. I think the jazz is subtle whereas it could have been SUPER Jazzy lol. I'm kind of hoping you put tracks on the drawers, but honestly in a week, you built an amazing thing.
Wow! This piece looks incredible. Those koi fish are really giving it that JAZZY vibe. Congratulations on the first mothersday and hopefully many more to come ❤!
👐🏻 JAZZY👐🏻 Jonny this turned out absolutely amazing I love the waves pattern and koi fish on the front and the metal base give it a stunning look to me. Great job and Happy first Mother’s Day’s to Katie. What a great gift
That is a a Beautiful cabinet! I like the narration! Wish we had a well equipped wood shop like you! I learn a lot watching you skilled vids. Thank you!
Jazzy….LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!! Especially love the pattern you designed ! I’m sure your wife will love it forever!!!!!!!😊😊😊PS….that wood honey was no joke!!!! Made that walnut BEAUTIFUL!!!😮😊and CONGRATULATIONS on the new baby!!!
I suggest you consider coffee and roasted barley as wood dyes.String instruments are traditionally dyed in this manner. If you want to make the tint more light resistant, add 5% ammonia to the water mixture. The final hue will depend on the roasting level. You can algo add 10% oil for a more nourishing emulsion.
Jazzy! Wow. This is a piece of art. Very beautiful. Well done. Thanks for showing the struggle with straight edging long lumber. I just struggled through that myself but I thought that was just bc I am a new woodworker. Wonderful job! And especially in 34 min!
Wow… this is one of the most beautiful pieces of furniture I've ever seen! I quite like the brightness of the plywood even if it's a more basic material, as it's a nice echo of the brighter sections of the door panels. So glad you wife loved it, too 😊
Jazzy. And now for something completely different, my comment. I really like your builds. The fa t that you don't call yourself a woodworker but a builder says volumes about your work attitude, an attitude I stand behind.
Jazzy! I love watching your videos because they always end up encouraging me to craft when I've not been feeling inspired. Thank you so much for doing these ❤
Jazzy! 🥂 The only thing I worry about are the very cool, decorative sharp points sticking out from the legs. Babies crawl around and under everything, often at a shocking pace while playing with papa. I can see her getting going faster than she can stop herself and smacking her head/mouth/eyeball on one. Maybe you can make some bumpers for those spots to protect baby faces until that stage has passed. Beautiful!! Happy Mother's Day to y'all!
That is absolutely beautiful! I love how the waves go so perfectly with the natural beauty of the wood. The koi fish are like little swimming jewels in the piece. She is a very lucky woman and you are a true artist!
Absolutely stunning craftsmanship! The jazzy Japanese wave pattern inlaid with epoxy resin truly brings out the beauty of these walnut slabs. What a remarkable use of a whole tree log. it's a piece of art! Perfect surprise for Mother's Day!
Very nice the JAZZY colors of the inlays is nice.I like to see the use of cnc machine it shows how much can be done with right tools, the voice overs are great help for all details and information thanks.

Jazzy
For what it's worth. I can't stand wood working videos with no talking. I enjoy listening to your thought process in each build. Jazzy
Man, if the camera didn't pick up the beauty of the colors of that wood, that cabinet must be absolutely stunning in person, considering how gorgeous it looks on the video.
Don’t stop talking. Your voice overs are the reason I like your videos.
Her approval was definitely genuine. Happy Mother’s Day! That was a beautiful cabinet. Wow.
seeing your beloved one happy is PRICELESS!!!!🥰
The movement in the grain on the doors is so perfect with the koi. And plugging the ends of the base with walnut was an extra jazzy choice
I’ve always called those extra details “fussy,” but “jazzy” sounds more fun and less judgy, it’s my new go-to word from now on! What a wonderful gift, Happy Mother’s Day!
I'll give an extra "jazzy" response to this
Yup! From now on I'll be jazzy cutting those particular pieces of fabric to get just the right part of the pattern 😊
It is very jazzy that you were able to put into words what I've been struggling to explain to people in my life for so long! Just the right amount of jazzy. Looks beautiful. The koi were a great finishing touch.
We say “Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast… so, slow is fast.”
This also applies to the racing world. If it looks slow and smooth, it's fast.
thats why the bit snapped :)
I was going to say exactly this! Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.
#phildunphy
thats the actual saying
One of my favorite builds I've seen on RUclips. Just jazzy enough without being flashy. Love it!
Gotta agree this is DEFINITELY one of your best builds if not THE best.
Great great work!
My terrible welding skills/equipment have seriously honed my grinder skills over the years.
🌲🍀🐾😂😎🐾🍀🌲.
A grinder and paint makes you the welder you ain't!
I love everything about this: the build, the reveal, the jazz, the narration, the video quality - well done, man!
Jazzy and I love the extensive narration. I hate playing charades with youtube videos...Love the way the piece turned out, great job and Happy Mother's day!
Same here. Also I think people should stop telling other people what to do…oh…wait… anyway love the build!

She called it Jazzy, repletdly, that's perfect. Jazzy, jazzy and jazzy. Even though plywood sucks, you did a great job!
This is absolutely stunning 😍 the love you have for your wife shines through in every detail 😊
I love your show. Some people don't understand that working with machines takes another level of skills and ideas. You have definitely moved to the next level. 🎉

It’s jazzy - and gorgeous! Your wife’s face said it all. Beautiful build!😊
I totally agree with you that a CNC machine is a great way to work in a shop. It’s another tool that can be used to make your projects “JAZZY”.
You said you only had a week to build this for mother’s day, but you released this jazzy piece a week before mother’s day. Congrats on making your goal of building in a week, but if you had delays, you could still release ON mother’s day a week later. {;-Þ
Maybe he meant that he wants to have this piece and the table both done by mother's Day.
JAZZY
Don't listen to the haters, who say you talk too much. I think you have a great voice and explain everything perfectly!!! Absolutely love this cabinet!! Thanks for sharing. ❤❤
Jazzy. Thank you for sharing such craftsmanship
"Jazzy" the Koi Fish are fantastic, colours pop in all the right ways.
Jazzy! I ran a CNC Router for 17 years, although I never got to build really cool stuff with the router I ran. I built school furniture, desk tops and crappy 36 x 72 to trap table tops and 36" to 72" round table tops. Everything vanear and glued tops. What you built was really awesome...

Jazzy. I like watching your builds. I've been a lifelong woodworker, and I like seeing what other people come up with. Keep up the good work!
Brilliant Piece , Understanding the Client and the Direction of the Need.
Job Well Done 👍
pretty jazzy work. I must admit, this is my first time watching a video of yours and you got a sub for it. When you said this was not one of your "talking heads" videos, I really hope you keep up the format of this video. It was really good.

Looks fantastic. Beautiful job. Love the koi carp epoxy. Really adds to it
Jazzy, yes. But totally worth it. It's incredibly gorgeous. Excellent idea adding the koi. They really add a bit of pop! And that wood is just beautiful.
What an incredible gift for Mother’s Day! Phenomenal
Jazzy, i love your creativity. Those Koi fish fits the table so perfect, and matches the different color of the walnut amazingly! love from Denmark.
Very Jazzy. Interesting that you made this for your lovely wife for Mother's day. I just did my first epoxy project, charcuterie board, and giving it to my wife as well. Congratulations on the birth of your child and being able to celebrate Mother’s Day together with such loving gifts. You are all blessed!
That is absolutely gorgeous and maybe the best piece you've ever built. The Koi are wonderful. The base is reminiscent of a Tori Gate. She obviously loved it.
Jazzy cabinet looks amazing, I really love the fish and I like the voiceover explaining things as you go. great video
Gorgeous!!! I love the koi pop. Love the motion of the black epoxy suggesting water as well.
Jazzy narration, brilliant design, brilliantly done, jazzily presented! Adding the wood inserts to the steel was great, and the koi are beautiful... if JAZZY!
Hell Yeah…. More metal 🤘
I wished more RUclipsrs used metal fabrication on projects. Mixed media projects is my dream where to end up as a maker.
Outstanding build, you have excelled yourself on this one. I love the doors, they are just perfect & your wife loves it which is an absolute bonus. Well done. Cheers, Don from South Australia.

Great 'Jazzy' build Jonny! I do like the communication during the video to tell me what is being done and what you are thinking
I loved this. I think the jazz is subtle whereas it could have been SUPER Jazzy lol. I'm kind of hoping you put tracks on the drawers, but honestly in a week, you built an amazing thing.
First of your videos I've seen; I like your jazzy style which makes it a very personal item.
Wow! What an incredible piece. I am absolutely blown away by it.
Oohh this looks so good.
I'm also not someone who's want something "jazzy" in my house, but this is subtle. Just a casual pop of character and color.
Very nice. Happy first JAZZY mother's day to Katie
That is a a Beautiful cabinet! I like the narration! Wish we had a well equipped wood shop like you! I learn a lot watching you skilled vids. Thank you!
Jazzy!! OMG this build is super sick.....love the koi inlays. the splash of white and orange really sets is off. just blown away Jonny!

Jazzy , love your videos, the stuff you make and you talk just the right amount.
Jazzy! Wow. This is a piece of art. Very beautiful. Well done. Thanks for showing the struggle with straight edging long lumber. I just struggled through that myself but I thought that was just bc I am a new woodworker. Wonderful job! And especially in 34 min!
"Jazzy" What a great piece. I look forward to your builds, because you always seem to come up with something different every time.
Jazzy!!!!!! I love watching your videos! They are so therapeutic!🩷🩷
It's so beautiful I wanna cry. The Asian-inspired design really touched my heart.
Wow… this is one of the most beautiful pieces of furniture I've ever seen! I quite like the brightness of the plywood even if it's a more basic material, as it's a nice echo of the brighter sections of the door panels. So glad you wife loved it, too 😊
Jazzy! I don't need the t-shirt but wanted to support and I love this build so much!
Thank you so much for doing these ❤
Those koi fish are definitely JAZZY, but also beautiful! What a great addition! 🥰🥰🥰
That is absolutely beautiful - and jazzy! I'm so happy that your wife was pleased with it.
It's absolutely Beautiful!!! Well done!
Jazzy! 🥂
The only thing I worry about are the very cool, decorative sharp points sticking out from the legs.
Gorgeous work, with exceptional finish.
That is absolutely beautiful! I love how the waves go so perfectly with the natural beauty of the wood. The koi fish are like little swimming jewels in the piece. She is a very lucky woman and you are a true artist!
What a beautiful and awesome piece, I think it has just the right amount of Jazzy-ness to it!
Absolutely stunning craftsmanship! The jazzy Japanese wave pattern inlaid with epoxy resin truly brings out the beauty of these walnut slabs. What a remarkable use of a whole tree log. it's a piece of art! Perfect surprise for Mother's Day!
Jazzy ! I love this build and watching your videos makes me want a cnc and do some beautiful pieces. Love your work and the voice overs .
Very nice the JAZZY colors of the inlays is nice.I like to see the use of cnc machine it shows how much can be done with right tools, the voice overs are great help for all details and information thanks.
Wood, epoxy, metal structure... the whole thing is magnificent.
I really like traditional patterns and graphic rendering.
It's jazzy and beautiful, and a bit of a masochistic venture.... nice work!
I’m a fan of the talking head moments. I watch while at work and you always let me know if something important and jazzy is about to happen. Thank you
Jazzy build. I'm an interior designer and I like what you made. So you can say it's designer approved.
Jazzy! Totally amazing! Congratulations!
Her reaction made it awesomer. I really like this piece, I think you did a fantabulous job!!!
Jazzy
And absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful work Sir!
Jazzy. I always watch through your video's the whole way. Really enjoy your content. Keep up the good work.
Jazzy!!!!! I love the Koi fish!!! Beautiful job all around!!!
I love the build mate. Glad you're misses loved it, that's the main thing. It's a little Jazzy but very snazzy. Well done.
