    Great video. My 12 y/o pony and golf mad daughter and I are heading down from Yorkshire to play the Forest Course in a couple of weeks. We're doing 9 holes per day and staying in the inn. I'm convinced having watched your video that this is a good and not totally bonkers idea, so thank you. Awesome video and brilliant to see the course looking exactly as we hoped it would ❤

      Hi Ian! Thanks for watching! I actually went back and played the Forest course a couple of weeks back! We’ve had a bit more rainfall this autumn so it was a touch wetter with softer greens but I still had just as much fun… the cows were all out in Cow Corner that day including some baby calves trotting around which were great to see and I’m sure your daughter will love! And we also saw about a dozen New Forest ponies over the course of the round too a couple of which were being noisy and chattering to each other! The area surrounding the course is lovely too and there’s a lot more new forest wildlife accessible in a very short drive! I hope you and your daughter have the best time! 👍🏼

      Thank you for the reply. It's great to hear you had another fun round there recently and I'm relieved that the greens are a little slower. My daughter is super excited after hearing about the calves and cow corner. Can't wait to get down and experience it all in a couple of weeks ❤

      Hi Stephen! I’ve just googled the course and all I can say is WOW! It looks stunning! And only €20 for a weekend visitor! Sign me up! Do you play there or did you visit it? As someone who is half Irish it’s a crime that I’ve not played there yet! Need to do a tour (or two or three!) haha!
      Thanks for giving my channel a watch! All the best! 👍🏼

      Hi Spodbw1! Honestly I couldn’t believe how PURE and quick they were! I play a lot of golf courses and these are the best I’ve played ever for £30 green fee. Insanely good! Like you say, imagine them in peak summer? Scary! Thanks for giving the video a watch! 👍🏼

    Hi Luke, another really enjoyable video. Thanks for the content. I appreciated the history and uniqueness of this course. I also appreciated your willingness to show your bad golf, especially that start you made, and your honesty. The windy conditions, lightening fast greens and a few really long par 3s on the front 9 no doubt added to your troubles. Loved where your drive on 11 finished 😛. Truly part of the uniqueness of the course. I'm already looking forward to where you'll be playing next. Unfortunately outdoor golf is no longer possible where I am on the east coast of Canada. However, I'm hoping to play some indoor golf before heading to portugal for a few weeks this winter. All the best!

      Hi Gary! Thank you for watching the video! I really enjoy filming this style of video and trying my best to show off an interesting course that most wouldn’t have heard of but I can promise you I didn’t enjoy watching and editing those first 4 holes! They take a really long time to edit too (compared to my other videos) so it’s really appreciated when someone watches and great if you enjoy it too!
      We don’t get much golf at this time of year but I do appreciate that some, in tough conditions, is better than none. So I have sympathy for your situation! Where are you playing when over in Portugal??? 👍🏼

      @@weekendtourpros Hi Luke, I haven't decided which courses I'll play. We were originally hoping to go for 3 months and if that was the case I was going to but a 3 month membership at the Amendoeira resort which would give me unlimited access to 3 courses. However, due to selling a property here in Canada, we won't be able to get away for as long. Probably only be able to go for about 6-8 weeks so the 3 month membership won't make sense financially. Therefore, I'll be looking into paying regular green fees. I might be able to play a few courses that way though. We are planning to go to Albufeira so if you know the Algarve and are able to recommend some good but affordable courses please feel free to make some suggestions.

      @garymacdonald2596 Hi Gary! I’ve not played in Portugal but a former work colleague had a place in the Algarve and was a regular at Quinta Do Lago but I have no concept on cost or quality bar his opinion sadly! Best of luck with all the property movements! Sounds like a really exciting winter you’ve got planned! 👍🏼

      Hi David! Thanks for watching! Yeah those first four holes were not enjoyable to edit at all! But that’s golf right? And I think it says a lot about the golf course that I had such a great time despite struggling with my swing and the wind on the day! I’d go back tomorrow! I had only ever played Brokenhurst in the new forest (which is excellent) before the visit to Bramshaw and definitely want to tick the few other courses off now. Lovely part of the world! Have a great weekend! 👍🏼

    Really well put together Luke and very enjoyable watch.
    I’m left handed also and off 14 😲and a member with my wife of the Forest course and prefer it to the Manor. (I’m also a member at Meon Valley) It’s a unique experience not one everyone appreciates (its style is often likened to inland links with the small saucer like greens and run offs) and cannot be underestimated trouble lurks for the unwary! I’m really pleased you enjoyed it so much. Look forward to seeing more of your vids in the future. 👏👏👏
    Best
    Paul

      @user-gh7zo1vk9y I’d love to go back! It’s not too far from where I live but not played it in about 6 years. Sadly it probably wouldn’t get top priority for me to film at where it’s a hotel course but would happily go back! If you’re ever short of an extra man on a Friday or weekend, let me know! Haha! 👍🏼

      Fair enough. I’ll try and get you a game in the summer. Weather is pretty grim right now. Was really great watching a fellow lefty on this video they’re as rare as albatross’s! 😂 also loved how chuffed (and surprised) you were with every good shot just like me! Mind you, you were a lot more accepting of the bad shots! 😂

      Hi Wayne! Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words! I do remember meeting you! I sent a note to Molly, the manager, afterwards saying how friendly the couple of members were that I met along the way! Agree - this weather is getting me down too (when will it finally stop raining?!). Glad you felt I showcased your course well - just a shame I didn't bring my A game (always tough when your focus is on catching the footage sadly!). I've booked in to play your Open in April - so looking forward to coming back! All the best!

    What ball and irons are you losing Luke? Cool course! Thanks for the piece.

    • @weekendtourpros
      @weekendtourpros  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Richard! Thanks for watching! I’m currently gaming Mizuno JPX923 Forged irons and I was using a Titleist Pro v1 in this video. Not my normal ball but I got a dozen as a gift so have been using them through the summer months. I’m back to using my Bridgestone Tour B RX now though! There’s videos with my full what’s in the bag and the Bridgestone ball and why I’m playing it on the channel too! 👍🏼

  • @Robk363
    @Robk363 9 месяцев назад +1

    Great video mate.. I also really enjoy your ball reviews, was wondering out of curiosity what ball you actually use yourself on course?

    • @weekendtourpros
      @weekendtourpros  9 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Robk! Thanks for watching my channel and for your question. I currently game the Bridgestone Tour B RX which was a change I made this year after testing on the channel. It seems to give me a fraction more spin that I desperately needed as a low ball flight/shallow iron player whilst not going too firm. I did play the Pro V1 a little bit in the peak summer, purely because family members had bought me some as a gift at Christmas! I’m really keen to test the new version of the Bridgestone when it lands shortly to see how that compares to the current version. I hope that helps! 👍🏼

    • @Robk363
      @Robk363 9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for getting back to me.. reason I ask is I've noticed in the simulator your ball speeds/club speeds are very similar to mine. I'm also an 11 handicap golfer (10.7 to be exact) and I'm currently looking into changing into a new ball that best suits me 👍

    • @weekendtourpros
      @weekendtourpros  9 месяцев назад +2

      @Robk363 no problem at all! That’s exactly why I started the channel - to try and make as much relatable content as I could to help people like me!
      What ball do you currently game and what are your potential reasons for changing it? What are you looking for in a new ball?

    • @Robk363
      @Robk363 9 месяцев назад +1

      I currently play between the Srixon Q star tour and the Taylormade tour response.. both I find to be very similar. I don't dislike either of them but I've never actually looked into what's actually best for me. I tend to have quite a low ball flight and was looking for something that possibly gave me abit more hight.

    • @weekendtourpros
      @weekendtourpros  9 месяцев назад +2

      @Robk363 I played the Tour Response for about 2 years until I swapped out to the Bridgestone and loved it except for the spin being a bit low for me with my irons.
      Seeing as you’re already paying £30-32 a dozen for your balls you might enjoy the Wilson Triad - it’s a similar compression to the Q Star Tour but felt great and the peak heights were good and so was the spin and distance. I really rated it having never tried a Wilson ball before! I also think the Bridgestone balls are worth a go. With the new models coming soon the older ones are on offer for £32 a dozen in quite a few places so you could try them whilst cheaper. The softer Tour B RXS (green pack) is great if you prefer a softer feel but the one I game Tour B RX (red pack) is closest to the Q Star Tour. If you’re looking to save a couple of quid and already enjoy Srixon then I’d 100% try the AD333. It was incredible when I tested it and is much closer in feel to Tour Response.
      Hopefully that helps rather than confusing! Haha!
