Have had this ongoing problem with my Citroen relay and many more you have on your list of instructions, Thankyou for an in depth explanation, I’m on my third key swop now. Your instructions are the best Ive seen.
Thank you Izzi, I do appreciate your kind words and I am really pleased to see that people are finding my clips helpful I have swapped few keys so far,(I had 5 of them vans up to date), the keys are not great but at least are cheap and easy to fix All the best👍🙂
I had this problem, alternator was turning over it made me think I had a flat battery as no warnings on dash but it turns out theres a hidden little ID48 microchip covered in epoxy resin in the original case. A bugger to remove and transplant but works good after
I’ve just got the same one. Did you have to change out the split pin bit that you described at the end or was it the same. Great information by the way. Excellent description and video
Thanks for nice words No, I didn't change split pin. If you have to change the key blade, you have to punch the pin out, replace the blade and press the pin beach in. They are very snug usually.
I’ve just got to swap everything across including the original key blade as you did so I don’t think from your description that I’ll have to do anything with the pin. I’m doing it tomorrow so thanks again for the very informative video
Thanks, managed to re-shell my Citroen original key fob with a £1.95 AliExpress one and this stopped me messing it up.
Cheers for the update 🙂
All the best 👍

I've just noticed that a small spring is missing from Inside the push button tube that keeps the locking mechanism is place .
You will need that spring for sure
Brilliant
Barry, thank you👍
I've completed this but for some reason the flick action won't work. The release button don't seem to work . Any clues as to why .
spring missing/broken?
