The art work is high caliber . It is soft on the eye and the atmosphere it produces is the feeling of mystery . I’ve not taken the time to analyze - I just sit back and flow with it- but the way you go about a yarn is seamless and soothing . The creepy material not - with - standing! Good stuff!
From the top notch narration, visuals, and sound there is no better channel for spooky tales and the unknown. I've been a fan for years and the level of dedication and respect for the subjects has never ceased to amaze me.
Top 5s is good. Of course everyone is ridiculously, overly obsessed with Mr Ballen. There was a short-lived podcast, Supernatural with Ashley Flowers (Crime Junkie). Episodes are still available, my favorite being Valiant Thor. Although I find David Paulides’ research intriguing, I don’t much care for his long winded videos that are bogged down with his personal views and lacking any form of editing. The Missing Enigma and Top Mysteries have the same premise but better presentation, actually very similar to BS, one even includes black and white sketches.
Grandad worked up there for years. Helped build the DEW Line and run CAT Trains for years up North after The War. He called it "The Valley of the Headless Men". Terrific episode. Never heard of this valley or these stories before. Decapitated bodies and burned cabins. The bent rifle barrels freaked me out the most.
Person I knew years back had a hunter vanish on his property in Alsaka. Years later a fire burnt out an area of scrub and his remains were found. Beside the bones was a rifle with a bent barrel. The culprit was also there - the bones of a Grizzly. The best explanation was that the hunter encountered the bear inside the tangle of the scrub. The hunter fatally shot it but the bear killed him before it died, bending the rifle barrel with the force of the attack.
@@terrancetovar4527 Huge bear lunging down at a person on the ground. Rifle jammed in between maybe? I don't know exactly how it was bent, I only saw photos of the scene - bones, remains of a rifle with a bent barrel. As a fire had burnt through maybe the heat bent the barrel? Or maybe the bear did it.
When I was a child, UFOs and aliens terrified me. I remember watching the (now) debunked Roswell crash alien autopsy video with my parents, and literally sat terrified in my bed checking the window in my room every minute while trying to fall asleep somehow. It was always the drawings that literally gave me chills, the eyewitness account drawings of the creepy shiut people would see. All the abduction documentaries. Fast forward 20 years and I’m in my bed with the lights off watching these vids with same artwork, and it still creeps me the hell out. Something very real going on around us. Whether demonic, spiritual- or extraterrestrial, it scares the ever living crap out of me. for some reason I’m drawn to it and can’t help but watch these videos, fully immersed in its horrific nature.
Stay in your bed as long as you can, kid. Stay in the safety of your house. For there is Darkness here and around, a land of unknown, nameless horrors, smiling faces hiding inhumane Evil, and when you will feel Someone in the blackest corners of your rooms even when you are alone, sudden movements in the Shadows, when you will hear Their Whispers ordering you obscure massacres and depravities, simply know that you will fade away into Madness... Because The Dark Gods are coming, and only The Gods Of Light will save you all.

Here in Arizona, the Diné are another name for the Navajo. Before they became a more settled tribe, they, the Yavapai, and the Apache would raid the agricultural tribes of the O'Odoham people (Pima, Maricopa, etc.). The Superstition Mountains are just southeast of Pima territory and east of Maricopa territory. I am curious if there is some connection. The Athabascans in the Northwestern areas of North America have a close language tie to the Navajo and Ute tribes. That's an interesting link.
Yup the Navajo actually migrated from northern Canada a few centuries ago. They speak almost the same language as the Dene in the Northwest territories. So that makes the similarities between the two legends quite interesting indeed

As unlikely as it may be, the idea of a stretch of Canada is so remote that Ice Age (older, if we count Amphycion) creatures still roam there is something I really need in my life. At least as a movie.
There are still huge parts of the world that are completely blank on the map where nobody has ever set foot What I wouldn't give to know what's out there
I feel like the connection to the Superstition mountains and the Nahanni valley could potentially be a thing. It is believed that the navajo and apache could be descents of the naha. Though the navajo didn't settle that far south, the apache did. Could be that the violent naha decided to go into the mountains while the more "peaceful" and more willing naha decided to accept the puebloan way of living. Could be a stretch there but I think it's interesting to think about those kinds of connections.
Excellent Episode the whole area is now a National Park so no more trapping and mining allowed since the 1970s. If anyone is interested I read a fantastic book called”Legends of the Nahanni Valley” by Hammerson Peters. I great read really goes in depth into the mysterious events and possible explainations.

These stories are always told so well. I wondered if you may be interested in retelling the story of Sweet Fanny Adams. I had always heard the term, but last year, amid Lockdown, looked up the details of this horrific murder and dismemberment of a small girl. There are a number of aspects to the case that easily miss the casual reader and feel the telling of the story may easily fit into the format you use in your videos.
The guy who found the woman, I know he was scared, but he could of helped her. Not only would he save her life, but she would of told a story of what happened to her.
This particular haunted story has fascinated me since I first heard it earlier this week. Great video. I wonder why curious people haven't tried harder to put some type of video surveillance in the area while mining for gold. Maybe because the area is so remote? One thing we can take away from this video, however, is that if MULTIPLE skilled people all die of gruesome deaths in a single place doing the same single thing, don't play your chances with fate.
I'm glad that this channel is growing, but I must say, I miss the days before we got a sponsor clip right as tensions started to build, it kinda just... takes you out of the moment, you know?
After a day of terrible news from every direction, I look forward to sitting down and listening to a new installment of Bedtime Stories. It's mild compared to some of the day to day stress.
Very unlikely. No matter how strong or skilled you are, it's very difficult to drag an unconscious person away on mountainous terrain; not to mention other challenges like cold weather and natural predators. These kind of "people" usually seek out easier targets.
@@osgarion lone woman in the woods…climbing rocks… naked… who in their right mind does that? Seems like a dire situation. Must have strayed from the group & trapped by a criminal in hiding. Is there anywhere I can go where it's safe and won't be "something" there? Mountains, woods, forests, valleys, the water, etc... The freaking Moon even!
I think the ghost of the man who almost killed that bartender still resides in the valley, doomed to an eternity in the same wilds for his violent assault.
Wait…so this guy saw a woman climbing a rock face, naked and distressed, but didn’t do anything whatsoever to help her? And, it was because he thought what was chasing her was the devil himself? Regardless of the fact that he actually HAD NO IDEA what was chasing her as he never laid eyes on it? I would’ve thought that the woman had been assaulted and went to help her, and then here’s this guy telling people he was cool with not intervening cause he just figured ol’ Beelzebub was hot on this woman’s tail. As if that’s even remotely rational.
Wow one of the scariest episodes yet up there with The Skinwalker Ranch episodes, the natural beauty of the place would be offset by danger and that's in the day!!
Anyone else noticing that this one is almost a perfect mirror for the dutchman's lost gold mine in the superstition mountains, right down to the removed head on a rock near by, and the discription of the tribe? Like, seriously, am I imagining things? It's almost word for word identical to the lost mine chapter in my supernatural places book I used to read in highschool (not in a copyright way, more in a, there's only so many ways to discribe the same thing way)
It's almost as if locals don't care for invaders, colonizers, prospectors or tourists and are willing to keep age old legends alive by tale and by deed to keep them away.

How when the two archeologists went to the Smithsonian about their find in the 1800's, it came in, shut them out and took over everything with the government . I mentioned that I wanted to hike around the area with a few people and they gave me a number to a branch of the state department and said I would need to get it approved by them. Called and nobody answered and no voicemail came on. Just a beep to leave a message. I did and all these years later, nobody called. Been around the area with a long range camera and in the areas where the temple of Shiva, Seth, Sun are at, yes they named them these names, at the entrance of the caves are metal bars and signs saying the area is being monitored. The government is protecting some thing or someone there. May be a lost civilization they have an agreement with, the natives always worshipped what could be these beings. I am all over this story and really want to go in there before my life is over.
You can not get close to them. I was roughly a quarter of a mile away then rangers on atv's said I had to go back on the designated trail area. Close enough to get pictures of one being barred up with thick metal bars and locked. Not solid, there were spaces in between the bars, like a prison cell. I have a detailed map of the whole region where all of the caves/temples are at including elevation. If you go, be extremely careful and please post the video live in case something happens so its documented. Here is the best I can give you...
From the Canyon View plaza. Draw a line from Yavapai point to Tiyo point and where the phantom creek intersects that line at 5,399ft. That is where the Cheops pyramid temple is at.
Now draw a line from that location to Dragons head and literally right along that line Isis temple is at 7,014ft and Shiva temple is at 7570ft.
Draw a line from Mojave point to Dragon head and the temples of Set 6026ft and Osiris 6637ft are right on that line.
Draw a line from Pima point to Grama point and 3/5 the way from Pima to Grama is the temple of Ra 6078ft.
I have many more locations on the map and in documents that I can not list but these are real and I have seen the one. If one is real, I know for a fact they all are.
Knowing they are there actually makes it even harder because I want to know so badly. I don't care if the Smithsonian got all of what they call treasure. I just want to see how whoever lived there lived and how deep it goes. The archeologists back in the 1800's wrote they went on forever. If it were not for me being a married man with kids, I would have went the whole way a long time ago. Documenting and telling the world what is there would rewrite so much history. And if that is an entrance to a subterrainian civilization still there, who knows what would happen.
Please copy this and print it out because I know they will find and erase it soon.

I love cuddling up with a nice warm blanket and listening to these stories. They wonderfully written and narrated.
@@AEB1066 I heard this story before...first I have heard of barrels being bent. That would be so hard to do right? How does the barrel get bent?
@@terrancetovar4527 Huge bear lunging down at a person on the ground. Rifle jammed in between maybe?
I don't know exactly how it was bent, I only saw photos of the scene - bones, remains of a rifle with a bent barrel. As a fire had burnt through maybe the heat bent the barrel? Or maybe the bear did it.
The thing is that it's a pattern over hundred years

There are still huge parts of the world that are completely blank on the map where nobody has ever set foot
What I wouldn't give to know what's out there
I feel like the connection to the Superstition mountains and the Nahanni valley could potentially be a thing.

I had always heard the term, but last year, amid Lockdown, looked up the details of this horrific murder and dismemberment of a small girl.
