Venables went into the season with two freshman QBs and the husk of Casey Thompson as his only options at QB in year 3. No real backup options in case the freshmen weren't ready. That's unacceptable for a major CFB program. He's a defensive coordinator masquerading as a head coach, and that's apparent to everyone but OU fans somehow. Inexcusably bad roster management and coordinator hiring decisions.

That's football a coaches job is to motivate his players, he can't tell them that they suck. We have 5 wide receivers injured and our running game is not very good. The offensive line is getting better but they can't consistantly open the holes for the runners. So Jackson Arnold is not that bad his timing is just off and he holds the ball to long, Hawkins has the timing down but limited weapons down field, the tightend is the best receiver on the team.

I saw this coming before it was even played, I was hoping for a closer game but a one dimensional offense is not good. Stop the run and make a freshman beat you with his arm, with no wide receiver support. The defense can only do so much to keep us in the game but they were missing some tackles also. We can complain about the coaching but overall the defense is better than last year and the offense is really bad and hopefully we can rectify that and not keep coaches around because they are alumni.

If UT wins the Natty, there's no humiliation in this loss. When we get some dawgs back from injury, and Hawkins gets some help up front, we'll win some games. It seems to me that the great QBs we had were not 5 stars, baker transferred from TT, Kyler transferred from ATM, hurts transferred from AL, Dillon transferred from UCF, on the other hand Spencer and Jackson haven’t preformed the way we predicted, not sure about MH, just an opinion

I saw this coming before it was even played, I was hoping for a closer game but a one dimensional offense is not good. Stop the run and make a freshman beat you with his arm, with no wide receiver support. The defense can only do so much to keep us in the game but they were missing some tackles also. We can complain about the coaching but overall the defense is better than last year and the offense is really bad and hopefully we can rectify that and not keep coaches around because they are alumni.

And they didn't run a quick slant route on that play. When I saw that, I was saying Hawkins is about to get sacked. How the hell do I see it and someone that's making millions can't see it?

If UT wins the Natty, there's no humiliation in this loss. When we get some dawgs back from injury, and Hawkins gets some help up front, we'll win some games. But I figured Coach V would get us competitive in 2025. not this year. I think we're on target for that, but we really need to get some dawgs in the OL. And the OC needs to prove himself. Go Sooners!

That buddy system having Seth as a offensive coordinator does not work at all . What good is a good defense if you don't have any offense at all . Balance is missing completely . No depth , no playmakers . The worst play calling we have seen at OU in like many many years . That looked terrible . Hey that 15 minute defense also needs to be 60 minutes . Fire that offensive coaching staff completely and don't wait for the next season to do it

Anyone who has watched OU and was willing to be honest saw this coming. Our Onhas been dreadful since game 1 and with more guys getting hurt it just hasn't gotten better. SL is clearly an awful play caller and him and JJF clearly are married to a system that they don't have bodies to execute to you better change the plane to work with what you got. We need a a great O mind as an OC.

Doomer Sooner for 2024! The Offense is in the middle of a perfect storm with a new OC, meh O-line, young QB’s and 5 injured WR’s. This 2024 adversity should pay experience dividends in the next couple of years unless of course the good players hit the portal
2wks to prepare and we got a Blake offense, OL sucked the worst. Receivers couldn't get open. Couldn't run. Been better to let the defense play both ways. OC got to be fired.

He has fixed the defense but riley wrecked the QB room and now we have to be patient while we develop young QBs unless you want to live on transfers and than you wont have a backup like two years ago. Where we need changes on the offensive staff most of them need to go next year. I am hoping Kevin Wilson will be available he wont be able to do much at tulsa and he has way more experience than littrell.
So it’s not Jackson Arnold that was the issue it was the offensive line. I know one thing ou best hope they get that money flowing to get recruits
