I picked up the blue 58. I've wanted it since it was released. I can now say I own it, and I bought it from an AD in Paris with my son on his first trip with me to Paris to celebrate a very good trading week on vacation that more than paid for the watch. He learned about watches, we toured Paris, and I explained to him why bought it to celebrate a milestone and a special occasion and also let him know that the watch will one day be his most likely when he turns 18. Very happy overall with the purchase and my first AD purchase of a watch that was not resale or pre-owned.
I bought the BB Black (41mm.) 2 and a half years ago and the BB GMT almost one year ago a I'm really happy with both watches, in every single way. The BB 58 is a handsome watch but a little small for my wrist (almost 18 inch). Great video and many thanks for sharing.
My first Luxury watch. I still wake up and look forward to putting it on. Love the retro vibe. The 39mm is perfect on my 7" wrist. Solidly built. Speedy is next. But man it will be hard to not put this on.

My god Teddy why why WHY do you do this to me? You know how much I love this watch. We talked about this, I posted a comment on your last Blackbay 58 video but nooooo that’s not enough. I was lucky enough to see the gold version and I confess I was tempted but the price was just too high. I may find myself in the future having a second look. at some point.

It’s one of the best watches in its price point. I love the omega seamaster professional 36.25mm too. Date and ceramic bezel compared to the BB58. I have both in my collection and thoroughly recommend both. True workhorses.
@@MrGuevara888 well I have quite small wrists, 6 and a quarter. So for me both fit great. The omega fits really good on my wrists, I would 100% try one on in person before you rule it out for being ‘36mm and too small’ Just like the Royal Oak, the seamaster is most popular in the larger iteration, but truth be known I believe the midsize models fits the average persons wrist better.
Just picked my black and gilt on bracelet up after a year on the wait list. Perfect fit on my 7.5" wrist and super comfortable. Downsizing the collection as this will be my daily from hereon in.
How long do you guys think will it take Tudor to release a "face lift" of the BB58 black? Should I go for one now or will they release a new one in the near future with the T-Fit clasp like on the BB Pro for example?
Bought the original BB 58 two years ago. Dimensions are perfect. I also have a Rolex Submariner which is my grail but the BB58 gets the most wrist time. Anxiously waiting for a BB58 with a gmt function..
'Tooda'. Nice. I have the black and the silver versions and love them both. Had the blue too but it quickly became superfluous. BTW I call the 925 silver version The Cappuccino.
Great video. The original 58 was my first luxury watch purchase. A nice addition to this style of video would be some predictions on where the line is going. I know a lot of people would love a GMT Pepsi in 58 proportions. Or a 58 bronze GMT with a root beer bezel.
Funny enough I might be the exception. I like Rolex and Im blessed enough to own some. I bought the BB58 because I was looking for a vintage Sub but I didnt have the time or will to keep on a vintage watch. The solution was the BB58 with that gilt dial and red triangle. Honestly the other ones dont make sense for me, in that case I rather have the Rolex, so for a Pepsi or Batman, I dont see other way to go than the crown. I understand the price difference but trust me, Im not rich, is just that I happen to save and have a good relationship with my AD :)
I own the BB58 and love everything about it. The comfort on my 6-5/8” wrist is only surpassed by its soothing beauty. The only drawback(or benefit) is that it’s hindered my desire to buy any other watch.
Great detailed review, got caught up in the Tudor craze and ordered a 925. Waited 4 mths but well worth it. Luv the watch and the brand, even picked up a 1926 series for the wife. Very satisfied Tudor customer.
Great video Teddy! I recently purchased a Black Bay GMT as my first luxury watch and love everything about it, except the bracelet. It’s either too tight, or too loose on my 7” wrist. Any suggestions?
Excellent and comprehensive review of the entire BB58 line, Teddy. I am a big fan of these watches and am planning on getting an OG (black dial/gilt) BB58 as my first luxury watch. I like all the versions, but the OG is my favorite - it reminds me of a James Bond Sub from the days of Sean Connery.
I’ve been considering pulling the trigger on a Black 79030N for a few months and your vid helped me to finally go for it. Another great video with plenty of history and info, thanks Teddy.
There was a growing trend for smaller watches and the obvious vintage craze. The BB58 capitalized on both in spades. Additionally, Rolex have been somewhat unobtanium for many people in recent years. Either they pay the massive price markup or wait for an unknown amount of time. As people give up on Rolex, Tudor becomes more appealing.
BB58 OG became a legend right after the blue dial version came out in 2020. Prior to summer of 2020, the OG was a sleeper. Today, the BB58 OG is pinnacle of watch design and Tudor nailed it on everything except for the rivets on bracelet. The strap versions are perfect because it shows you are into the watch game and you own other heavy hitter watches. The fact they came with Silver, Bronze and Gold is very timely because of the Olympics Tokyo. Tudor knows how to capture the new watch enthusiast with these BB58 line up. The fact the line up is without Date, Tudor made it true to heritage. Rolex can learn countless things from Tudor.
I tried this on the other day, and found it a tad small for my wrist/size. I only tried it on the fabric strap though, and the sales person indicated it does wear slightly bigger on bracelet. I put on the black 41mm BB diver on bracelet, and that one was just as thick as people say! Absolutely great diameter for my wrist though. The 42mm Pelagos wore like a dream, despite not being all that thin. Maybe it was the Titanium that made it seem smaller, but I'm in love with that thing.
Same thing happened to me. BB58 on strap, a bit small, even on bracelet. BB 41 on bracelet, a bit large. Switch it and magic: the BB 41 on leather strap: PERFECT!
@@Roberto68n Good point. I'm just normally such a bracelet person (he says while wearing a Seiko King Turtle on a Crafter Blue rubber strap) that I hadn't considered that middle ground option on the BB in 41mm. Definitely something to consider though.
I love the 925 Silver, but finally fell for the hype after your video on the Bronze Blue. That darker blue is just a perfect match for the bronze case…neither of which would I have thought I would have liked. You can’t say that Tudor doesn’t at least try to make a BB for everyone.
My OG bb58 is never leaving my collection. It’s as close to perfection on the wrist as it gets, plus I love the color combo. The red triangle mixed with warm colors….it’s near perfect imo. Side note: I love the blue as well. But it’s not more versatile than the black. Also not sure if the blue has more “mass appeal” either….Sry teddy
Rolex: "We know you want a Rolex sports watch and cant get one. Thats why we made the gateway drug called Tudor Black bay." Everywatch reviewer: "Who is the Black Bay for?"
Beat me to it. Many will claim they’re completely independent, but please. I am weakening. The classic is intriguing. And that blue bezel on Teddy’s really pops.
eversince bb58 was released in 2018, I was always on the fence to get one. but ended up not buying it. however, after getting the opportunity to see the bronze boutique edition, it was a no brainer. i bought the watch in August 03, 2021 and been wearing it 24/7. too bad for my other watch collection, i dont wear them much at the moment as i am on a honeymoon period :).
Finally managed to locate a Black Bay Silver in the UK - fortunate to see it in a retailers. Looked at Black Bay 58 Navy against it and is beautiful piece but went for the Silver.
I love, love, love the original BB58 with black dial, red accent and gold enhancements!! Is this still offered (if so...where) or would one have to find a pre-owned watch!?!
Got one last year after 2 years of waiting....never wore it. The clasp makes me unsure wether its worth to keep it or not. What i mean is that the clasp has this wide/long bending mechanisms behind it that takes to much space around the wrist. It doesnt let the bracelet hug the wrist well.
Another thing to consider is which bracelet option to select. I would suggest buying with the metal bracelet as this would be more difficult to buy separately later on
I have the BB58 in the black and the blue as could not decide which I preferred and a BB36. Pound for pound these three are hard to beat at any price point.
18K gold BB 58 ??? WHY? On two other notes, the BB 58 is a great watch; and Teddy is fast becoming the go to guy for solid, thoughtful reviews of the watches we all want to see and learn about. Two thumbs (and a wrist) up!
I'm very lucky to own two brand new Tudor BB 58s. Like-for-like think of the Blue BB58 as a more modern take on its original black and gilt sibling. But after watching some of your helpful videos, plus many others, I succumbed and I have just purchased a new BB58 Black version in late Dec 21 from my AD at retail - there is no shortage of them in the UK these days. I do, and still love the blue, it's magnificent, but I have also grown to adore the warmer, more vintage appeal that the black version exudes, not to mention the ever-so-slightly darker shade of steel Tudor has cleverly used to add further differentiation. Maybe owning two identically-made watches with the exact same specs is crazy, but hey it's Christmas after all !
I've owned the original black BB58 for around 18 months now and love it. Two points I wish were improved upon: 1. It needs an easy link extension, so hopefully the new mechanism on the bronze model will follow throughout the range. I also own the new 124270 explorer and the ability to extend the bracelet by 5mm in hot weather etc. Is extremely useful. 2. I wish the bezel was a 120 click rather than 60. I use the bezel timer frequently and the 60 click iteration is not accurate enough in my opinion. Still love it though! Beautiful watch. 🙂⌚
Do you think that the timeline of the release of the new BB58 Bronze, Silver and Gold has anything to do with the olympics and their partnership with Omega? Something I’m sure Tudor and Rolex would be looking to be involved in or am I reading too much into it?
@@jinoy5002 I bought my pelagos a couple weeks back from the Tudor boutique in London and man who served me was the one that mentioned it and it got me thinking.
Good rundown Teddy. I just added the original/black dial Black Bay 58 to the collection a couple of days ago. It's a beautiful watch with perfect dimensions for my wrist.
I thought I wanted this watch until I tried it on. It was just too small for me. I bought the regular Black Bay with the black bezel and it’s perfect. You can’t go wrong with a Tudor regardless of which one you choose.
The BB58 is my daily driver - I can wear it for just about every occasion. I have the black with gold accents and fabric strap. Otherwise my problem is having a decent sized collection that are starting to become decorations in the house 😂
I love all the Black Bay 58 models, including the 925. Realistically I would go for either the Black or Blue (probably leaning slightly more towards the latter).
My only issue with the bb58 is the lack of micro adjustments on the clasp. Otherwise I’d still have mine, I’m tempted by the pelagos as love the blue and titanium grey colours but it wears slightly big for me. I’ll get one soon but waiting to see what they improve first
Thank you, Thank you for the Tudor history and background. I’m looking for that one watch for my everyday wear. This BB58, timeless look is moving to the top of my list!

I was fortunate enough to have got 2 great watches from my AD in 2021: Rolex Submariner 124060 and Tudor Pelagos FXD. Both now take up most of my wrist time. I also have a Sinn 103 sa BE, Sinn 856 S UTC and Seiko SKX Ninija Custom. Despite that, l still hanker after the original BB58 and having just sold my Omega Speedmaster Sapphire Sandwich, if Tudor updates the BB58 with the new T-fit clasp this will be added to my collection.

It’s one of the best watches in its price point. I love the omega seamaster professional 36.25mm too. Date and ceramic bezel compared to the BB58. I have both in my collection and thoroughly recommend both. True workhorses.
Pff those are both ones I aspire to own, good on you sir!
@@MrGuevara888 well I have quite small wrists, 6 and a quarter. So for me both fit great. The omega fits really good on my wrists, I would 100% try one on in person before you rule it out for being ‘36mm and too small’
Just like the Royal Oak, the seamaster is most popular in the larger iteration, but truth be known I believe the midsize models fits the average persons wrist better.
@@1995pearson yea, the midsize 36mm would be the Omega Seamaster I would go for, good choice.
Omega snoozemaster- too dull and tired and needs a refresh
Just picked my black and gilt on bracelet up after a year on the wait list. Perfect fit on my 7.5" wrist and super comfortable. Downsizing the collection as this will be my daily from hereon in.
I own BB58 over 2 years and its one of my favorites
The watch is almost perfect
If Tudor introduces glide lock to BB58 it will become Perfect!
It will happen and when it does, it will be the hottest watch of the year.
I tried it at AD along with Tudor GMT. 58 is a great watch but feels just a bit too small for me. Picked up GMT.
If I had a larger wrist, Pelagos has a lot of depth!
'Tooda'.
Yep either of those or both works for me :)
Outstanding video.I have to go with the MAMACOO, especially with that green dial as my favorite
Forearm exercises.
Your last 2 videos were exactly the 2 topics on my mind. Crazy coincidence...thanks for the awesome content and Info as always
Awesome video bro! Personally own the blue 58 and the gmt and I love both 😍😍🔥🔥 Tudor is one of my favorite brands and love what they're doing!
I picked up my BB58 yesterday, and I love it. It might be the best contemporary dive watch. Great video.
Bronze Blue?
@@Roberto68n possibly the butcherer
Haven't seen the channel for a while, you're moving up. Better photography, details, confidence on camera, good shit!
Thats why we made the gateway drug called Tudor Black bay."
Everywatch reviewer: "Who is the Black Bay for?"
Beat me to it.
Many will claim they’re completely independent, but please.
I am weakening. The classic is intriguing. And that blue bezel on Teddy’s really pops.
I have multiples from both brands and like them both. The Rolex are OPs and Milgauss so in my case they have differences. TMI?
The OG black bay 58 is where its at.
The corner office CEO backdrop. I wonder if that’s an available zoom background.
Mine finally arrived at Tudor Vancouver. Will be shipped tomorrow. Cannot wait!
Absolutely love the Black Bay 58. The classic black will be my next watch.
eversince bb58 was released in 2018, I was always on the fence to get one. but ended up not buying it. however, after getting the opportunity to see the bronze boutique edition, it was a no brainer. i bought the watch in August 03, 2021 and been wearing it 24/7. too bad for my other watch collection, i dont wear them much at the moment as i am on a honeymoon period :).
Finally managed to locate a Black Bay Silver in the UK - fortunate to see it in a retailers. Looked at Black Bay 58 Navy against it and is beautiful piece but went for the Silver.
Gorgeous watch. But, i wonder why they did not add a date complication?
1. Aesthetic (symmetrical dial)
2. Who needs a date complication on a dive watch?
I got the call in April from my AD after waiting a year to they had a black Bay Blue 58 on bracelet. Best watch I own.
I have the 58 original and it’s perfect - just like all of them
I love, love, love the original BB58 with black dial, red accent and gold enhancements!! Is this still offered (if so...where) or would one have to find a pre-owned watch!?!
Just got this watch last week absolutely amazing
Got one last year after 2 years of waiting....never wore it. The clasp makes me unsure wether its worth to keep it or not. What i mean is that the clasp has this wide/long bending mechanisms behind it that takes to much space around the wrist. It doesnt let the bracelet hug the wrist well.
that clasp on the bronze looks like a significant improvement. looking forward to checking that out in person
Another thing to consider is which bracelet option to select. I would suggest buying with the metal bracelet as this would be more difficult to buy separately later on
I just got a black bay gmt for my 18th birthday and I’m loving it! Also this is my first ever luxury watch.
I have the BB58 in the black and the blue as could not decide which I preferred and a BB36. Pound for pound these three are hard to beat at any price point.
The black Blackbay 58 is on my to get list.
18K gold BB 58 ??? WHY? On two other notes, the BB 58 is a great watch; and Teddy is fast becoming the go to guy for solid, thoughtful reviews of the watches we all want to see and learn about. Two thumbs (and a wrist) up!
you should make one for the Aqua Terra the differences between the different sizes and movements could make or break a persons decision
Two points I wish were improved upon:
The reason bezels are tight from the factory is so you can set them in between clicks.
The ratchet mechanism is only a safeguard and shouldnt be the only thing holding it still.
Love these full collection videos and would love to see more.
The 58 for sure is for me! My fav is the original.
Do you think that the timeline of the release of the new BB58 Bronze, Silver and Gold has anything to do with the olympics and their partnership with Omega?
Something I’m sure Tudor and Rolex would be looking to be involved in or am I reading too much into it?
I like conspiracy guys makes things interesting.
I don't like the diamond-like hour hand. Is there an alternative?
I thought I wanted this watch until I tried it on. It was just too small for me. I bought the regular Black Bay with the black bezel and it’s perfect. You can’t go wrong with a Tudor regardless of which one you choose.
Same thing happened to me. Just love the normal black bay
Agreed. I felt the 58 lacked presence.
Very nice video Teddy! Will definitely use it to choose my BB58
The BB58 is my daily driver - I can wear it for just about every occasion. I have the black with gold accents and fabric strap. Otherwise my problem is having a decent sized collection that are starting to become decorations in the house 😂
My next watch, will come back to update once I’ve bought it.
I’ll get one soon but waiting to see what they improve first
Tudor have just released a 39mm pelagos, sounds perfect for you!
Great video! 👏 I just got my BB58 guilt dial 2 weeks ago and I love it!
Thank you, Thank you for the Tudor history and background. I’m looking for that one watch for my everyday wear. This BB58, timeless look is moving to the top of my list!
Great review! Love this brand and watch but decided to go with the Tudor Pelagos instead…… Perhaps I will add the black bay as well… 🤔
Teddy your great! I'm sure content creation is very hard. Tudor has had so much play. What I'm trying to say is the internet doesn't need another Black Bay 58 review. Again your awesome and let's broaden the scope...cheers.
I must have missed the vote on what "the internet" wants.
Such a great summary of the BB58 collection as it stands. Really enjoyed watching this since I am big fan of the model. More of these please 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
watching while wearing my 10-day old 925 Silver with a Teddy Baldassare NATO strap! :) (factory strap is weird and barely adjustable so too small for me)
I was fortunate enough to have got 2 great watches from my AD in 2021: Rolex Submariner 124060 and Tudor Pelagos FXD.
