I wonder how many new players see the Meet the Scout video and think, "I can totally just run past a sentry gun and not get shot", then they try that in a match and get filled up with lead.
I like how, in the comics, these documentaries were filmed by a professional filmographer, and his only complaint was that Heavy just wouldn't talk about anything other than Sasha. Given how Heavy has a tragic past on him and the director had to film every shot we see in all of the fights, including everything happening from Heavy's operation in Meet the Medic, Soldier's ramblings in his own video and everything going on in Meet the Spy, I'm surprised his only complaint was just a guy talking about his weapon
The thing I absolutely love about the soldiers intro is that he is quoting Lao Tzu is just how batshit he is and how much he is missing the point. Lao Tzu is always about avoiding war when you can, possition yourself in a advantageous possition, how to use misinformation to trick your opponent etc. If I remember correctly he once said something akin to "The greatest warlord is the one who has managed to maneuver himself into a possition where he never had to fight a war, and the history books probably won't remember him as such". So when Soldier talks about him inventing war and perfecting it so no one can best him in the ring that's just absolutely bonkers, and I love it! XD

Absolutely peak video! Some details I love is how Scout's fingerprint stays on the camera the entire rest of his short after he pokes the screen. Or how on rare occasions, Archimedes will fly out of the Scout when he explodes in-game. Also the pyrovision goggles that let you see the maps from Pyro's point of view.

One time for a history presentation, I reenacted Meet the Engineer but changed the context so that it was about Robert Boyle. I got an A for that, so Meet the Engineer holds a place in my heart for that moment alone.
On the note of meet the spy, when scout “cuts” himself with the butterfly knife, he doesn’t actually cut himself. I think some butterfly knife person on YT did a video on it, and the way it spins shows he didn’t cut himself, and the blue spy not noticing proves that red spy is the superior spy
These trailers are my only experience with the game, and yet i can still grasp the personalities of everyone shown. It amazes me how much character work can be done in such a short period of time. Meet the spy is also my favourite, although I am now laughing at the fact this sophisticated Frenchman is voiced by someone called Dennis.
I’m honestly curious where The original version of the Meet The Medic trailer that’s was more like the older interview styled Meet The Team trailers that also showed off how he created the Medi Gun and the formula used to übercharge his fellow team members would’ve landed on this list if we’ve gotten that instead of the far superior version we’ve actually gotten
I remember going to the TF2 steam page just to watch the meet the medic again when it was just out and featured there 😅. Did not know it was on RUclips
Btw, the "i have yet to met someone who can outsmart bullet" line is actually a reference to a famous quote from russian literature: "the bullet is the stupidest thing on the battlefield", so he is essentially calling the other team stupid in an intellectual way, because he canonically has a degree in russian literature.
