Entire Adobe Substance 3D Suite Explained Simply in 5 mins

- Adobe's new Substance 3D suite is pretty confusing to most users because of the similar looking software, and the complexity of 3D in general. So, I made this video that explains all Adobe's substance 3D apps in just 5 minutes in an easy to understand manner.
It goes through the differences between Adobe Substance Designer vs Substance Painter vs Substance Modeler vs Substance Stager vs Substance Sampler. It also talks about the basics of 3D modelling and other tools like Blender.
It is ethically correct to pirate adobe software.
*Change my mind*
It's so easy to pirate them. I think they are purposefully doing it.
Its ok to pirate any software if you cant afford it and don't make enough money from it.
as the old saying goes, if your earning under $100k, its ok.
But it's still worse software and will still spy on you.
Use blender!
@@noral342 They are. It's essentially the drug dealer behind the Walmart that gives you a free sample the first time. You get hooked, and you buy more.
You get used to Photoshop, Illustrator, etc, and then you go to a field where pirating it has actual consequences, so you have to buy the more expensive business version (or your company does).
I'll just stick with Blender which does all of these things for free 🤣. Great video as always.
lol
XD we both wish, unfortunately not at all. Everyone is always talking about how Blender can do everything for free, but it really does not. I wish it would, then I would instantly switch to it. But it still lacks in soo many areas. Dont get me wrong, its still hella good, especially since its free. But its multi billion dollar software companies vs 1 open source one that tries to do everything that 5 different programs have been perfecting for the last 20 years or even longer.
Except texture painting. That thing is a pain
@@kaiserm21 wdym?? blender can do all of these, except texture painting, and the real image to material workflow is a bit harder.
me as a cinema 4d user:
Someone please tell Elon Musk to buy Adobe
... then make all their software open source
At least if they were made open source, SOMEONE could finally fix the continuous crashing within many of their apps
You're describing Blender
People would start saying Elon Musk invented Photoshop."
Answering the 'would you recommend Adobe software to others' pop up with 'no' would get your account blacklisted.
Insane, Why would he do that, dude ain't your friend or champion of the people. He'd be more likely to increase prices and make licenses more strict while decrying the piracy to paid pipeline.
😂😂😂
I’m a graphic designer not a 3D expert, but I got some nice professional results from Dimensions (rip). This move from Adobe just seems to have universally pissed everyone off, Pro and novice alike. Now I’m looking at learning Blender.
Very glad to be seeing from you again. Great content.
Thanks :)
adobe after making 15 separate apps that could easily have been 1
pls add substance to CC...50 dollar plan....like this to show that we support this
Adobe Brush, Adobe Layer, Adobe Text Tool will be the next Adobe software releases.
Can’t wait for the Adobe Select Suite (*):
* Adobe Select
* Adobe Deselect
* Adobe Reselect
* Adobe Select Inverse
* Adobe Select All
* Adobe Select and Mask
(*) Available separately for $49.95/mo - Not included with Creative Cloud.
(**) Current select functionality will be discontinued from all Creative Cloud products.

3:11 Substance 3D modeler is similar to Zbrush, sculptris or blenders sculpt mode. More free-form but you wouldn't want to create large scale work like cities with it.
Useful for organics where other tools are more suited to hard edge modeling.
AND its also got VR. which is pretty fun. i really like doing free form sketching in VR with it, then you can export it and detail/remesh ect in Zbrush.
Adobe will consume all.
I been using substance for a year now as a student. I am now having to transfer my account to a adobe one and have no clue if the software is still free for students. Does anyone know if Substance 3D will still be free for students or do I now need to pay for it?
Edit: just looked it up and seems like no unfortunately, Adobe needs to just stop bullying the weak like this. Now I got to learn how to use Blender or other software as my studies will be heavily impacted by Adobe's greed as I do a lot of 3D for my university work.
Why is Adobe such a greedy company?
If you don't know how to draw a texture, you can always grab these balls to add a texture.
Thank you for the instructions.
yay you posted another masterpiece
Almost to 100k subscribers 🎉👍
Hey, love to see another video 👍👍
FYI: All the Substance Softwares can be BOUGHTED AND OWNED via Steam currently. as of Dec 2023.
Good video, thanks
Background music is a little stressing though
ok thanks. Will improve next time.
I wouldn't say stressing but it was definitely too loud at some points and it was hard to listen to the actual content
Substance painter beginner friendly my ass :') very good explainer video though, I hadn't even heard of these programs a couple months ago and as of a few weeks ago I'm suddenly having to use them! this popped up in my feed, interesting watch
yep, they ruined it.
like everything they touch
Very easily understood, thanks and keep up with the good work
Substance before: free. Completely free as a student. One time 50$ purchase and you get everything.
Adobe: You have to buy Photoshop and everything else seperate per month. It now cost you 70$ per month to do what you like, above the probably 50$ you spend on zbrush.
Keep in mind that 03:29 adobe is discontinuing 3D mesh procedural capabilities of designer.
Thank you so much for this helpful information, i just hope there was no background music, as you have a great narrating sound, so please keep up the great work.
What's the best alternative to Photoshops discontinued 3D, if I simply want to extrude and angle an image of an object?
Is there anything out there that functions in a similarly simple way.
Great video, thanks but turn off the fucking music.
I’m trying to find out if I can create my own texture, material using Adobe illustrator to see if it Is possible?
I decided to illustrate a 3D baskeball, I used the Stained Glass from the Effect-Texture menu, along with the 3D tool I was able to make one. But I’m sure many Photoshop users have to use Substance if they are not familiar with AI.
I don’t know why everybody is saying these cost money I got mine for free but for some reason I got a torrent file instead of an executable..weird.
I am waiting for adobe workflow manager and adobe coffee brake manager sampler.
Great video as always, but it's so annoying that the music in the background never drops and it just loops back to the start whenever the drop would come...
you're here for the info no the music
Ridiculously loud and horrible voice over!
Did he claim that blender doesn't allow color or textures?
Yes.
The first part hurt.. ouch
Also Adobe better not buy blender or sumn
Finally
He is alive!!!!
fire your edit guy. the music for this vid is... very dislikeable
Can you update your all Adobe apps explained video?
that music is absolutely irritating
Its surprised 3D Model is not available for mac OS
Generally speaking, Mac is not for 3D models. Mac is unnecessary frills.
YAS, here before like 5K views.
Ehren- Männer und Frauen verkaufen nicht an Adobe oder Autodesk!
How do you do your voice overs soo organically
Any tips ?
Simple, all you have to do is buy Adobe Voiceover for 70$ a month
The key is in writing scripts, then editing it several times to make it info-dense so that it doesnt waste audience's time. Then you have to rearrange how the sentences are worded so that it flows from one sentence to another without feeling any disruptive gaps or repeatitve words. Doing this will require about 10 times editing the script again and again.
Once it's done, if you have good voice, read it yourself. If you don't hire someone to read it. I do the second. But the problem with it is that, you only get one chance to get the script right, and cannot spontaneously change the narration or direction without considerable effort and cost. Thus making the script writing even more tense and stressful.
@@moosedoggy Amazing
the looping song does get a little annoying after a while. great video though!
Since everyone despises adobe now, you'll have to do a video about adobe alternatives for millions of views lol
Al fin entendí...tantos paquetes... gracias por tremendo video y contenido, super resumido, sigue así !! Saludos desde Argentina.
Modeler = model
Painter = paint over 3D models
Designer = materials
Stager = render
Sampler = uhh… sample?
I guess I’ll just stick to Blender and Cinema4D for now, until adobe gets their shit together and come up with a decent 3D solution that’s included in Creative Cloud…
Designer makes Textures, not materials.
These are more than decent solutions, but ya it not being in CC still burns me!
Well im just going to stick with Quixel Mixer for now, its not as powerful as Substance but its free 8)
3d Painter is available on Steam without subsciption :)
So basically they recreated Keyshot XD Which i think does all of the above except the 3D Modeler which they just added.
Sadly Keyshot now also has monthly subscriptions so i'll be stuck on V8
Mmm yes, Adobe products (Takes a bite out of his pink donut with sprinkles)
i notice no one ever references adobe dimensions when the talk about 3d software...does any one know how dimensions fit with the 3d suit....what is its purpus and function.
i always wanted to learn 3d. I don't know if i must learn Blender or this suite. What would be more easy ?
great overview. I won't be getting it.
It would’ve been easier to follow if the logo and name for each program was kept up while talking about them.
never gets tired of ripping our pockets. instead of rushing to produce these apps, why not take time and offer us a proper 3d software .
actually adobe had vr scuplt before adobe sub 3d model its called adobe medium
Where does Adobe Dimension fit into all this?
Dimension was before Designer.
good thing i bought it on steam before the acquired it.
EYYYY
and currently available on steam via perpetual license
blender still doing its job. all the rest of substance apps is missing animation feature
u are using tts - text to speech ?
No. It is real human voice
thanks man
What about animating things?
thanks for breaking this down
what about adobe valorant?
4:23 I get these softwares easy
Great video. Great info. Thank you
I fucking hate Adobe. Why did Allegorithmic have to sell out ? Is the money THAT good ? They were doing fantastically.
Yes money was really good. I have never heard of this company allegorithmic.
@@Z-add I tried to find out how much did Adobe buy algorithmic (French company), but couldn’t find any info, yet.
Of all the companies to hate?
What would be the best software to make a coffee shop ambience type video?
It think this would blender, it is the all in one package + there are many tutorials on youtube since it has the biggest community.
The audio work youve done is terrible. The music that has an off beat loop is infuriating and the leveling isnt good either
moreee video
needed this
I am back to adobe creative cloud and i must say it's great to be back! Awesome video as well!
You can get a propetual license on steam for $150 per software. Painter is worth the propetual purchase
I use these. Adobe is probably a good thing tbh, they'll add features that we need with all likely hood
Imagine saying that adobe is a good thing
Resistance is futile, Adobe consumes all
Good informative video. Congratulations.
This was so informative, thank you!!!!'
wonderfully explained
