Looks good. Can it import vector shapes from illustrator?
Can you draw to a scale? Are there measurements?
That would be super helpful
If i move an object, then make more objects, but i wanna return to the original object and move it back to world center, how do i do that? I want it to be perfectly center, and the option for that doesnt seem to be there. Also is there an orthographic view in this program yet? If not will there be?
If you go into scene mode, then select it, and press R twice, it will reset back to origin.
Is it possible to rotate a shape while in placement mode? For example, if I use an ngon shape to make a bolt and rotate it to my liking in gizmo mode but then switch to surface mode it undoes the rotation I just made in gizmo mode. I can't seem to find any way to rotate the shape in placement mode though.
Right now surface mode has locked orientation on desktop. VR lets you have a bit more control here.
I've been looking for this for a very long time!
Poor tutorials
Sadly from adobe... One of the greedy comp. Like autodesk, muxon, blizzard, nvidia, etc.
strange software
not very intuitive
it will have to be decided whether it will be entirely VR or desktop. Both at the same time is not possible.
Too bad but I don't think this strange software lasts long between zbrush and blender.
Every time i activate the clay tool, it creates a new object, instead of building on the one i already created. How do i stop that from happening?
Ithe object you are seeing is actually your clay brush and not the actual object
@@Substance3D How do i clay the object freely instead of having a gigantic clay brush?
At 3:27, they switch the clay brush from gizmo to surface placement (the icons on the bottom of the menu), then proceed to add clay. You can decrease the size of the brush by Ctrl + click and drag.
Can i use my tablet to sculpt?
Yes!
@@arashhooshangnezhad3228 Hmm i cannot find it in the PlayStore.
How do I set the distance of something along the axis with an actual measurement? If I want something 10mm wide, how do I input that?
Did you ever figure that out? If not i suggest you try 3Dcoat print. Its free, its voxel modeling just like S3DM and it works amazingly. This program is also great. But i wish it had a few more options. Maybe before long though. It IS brand new.
@@Scav-Goblin does it work in vr?
The Mac users we are still waiting for the Mac OS compatibility!! When are we gonna get the tool? It's included in our subscription and we don't intent to switch to Windows. Any information will be appreciated.
Just switch to windows
Why do you people make these programs so infuriatingly obtuse? This isnt anything like how modeling works with hands. The first step in adapting users should be a painless transition from real life to digital by way of an intuitive UI. You can have your technical features in an "advanced mode" or something. So disappointing..
I would like see tuto how to make the car from thumbnail
Can a Prim be used as a transform shape to distort or deform whatever other Prims it overlaps?
Those sculpting modeling softwares basic ideas are similar
The final model can be painted directly in Substance 3D Painter? D: I read that you need to import the final model in Blender and correct the UVs but there are those who say that you no longer have to correct UVs because Substance 3D Modeler already does them automatically 🤔
Substance painter has auto-unwrap but it still "sucks", nothing beats hand unwrapping.
EDIT : Since somebody might misunderstand. If you work on games etc, definitely not usable to auto-unwrap the models. You gotta hand-unwrap, otherwise you wont keep the job in the game industry. You can autounwrap stuff for your archviz renderings and whatnot, nobody rly cares about good UVs on those.
Modeler can do auto retopo and UV's for you, it's best to start with that. If it's not good enough, you can do edits yourself in Blender for example.
@@Substance3D Wow 😃😃 Thank You Adobe! Im new in 3D and I want to create 3D Models with clay but i don’t have 3D skills. I think Substance 3D Modeler can help me with my new project! I will test it 😀 Thank you
AI is in 2023 better than hand unwrapping. I see you have lot of time burned learn years maybe 10 year, but sorry for this, but u dont need it anymore@@PigeonSlayer
You are very wrong.@@dev_rnd
this is better than zbrush ya?
Not quite. Especially on desktop. It's very powerful and intuitive in vr though.
@@keithkirby7376 better than 3d coat?
@@IronMan-yg4qw I would say yes. 3dcoat is still unstable for me.
This is nothing compared to blender
that's the point kiddo, also this is version 1.0 so it will evolve over time to become better than blender which still lacks tons of stuff after 25 years of developement
@@xox8717 26 years old not a kid
@@jamesjudd1326 If someone uses this they would have to pay for both substance 3d and substance painter?
Of course it’s not compared to blender, it’s a different software.
@@jamesjudd1326 lol - Yes, at 26 you're still a kid. I guarantee that when you're 40 you'll look back to yourself at 26 as being a kid. Time = Perspective.

and unusable
@@xox8717 How is it unusable? I'm new to blender just curious about what you mean.
Chances are this one has much better tech support
@@gogidolim Blender will soon become the industry standard, and it is guaranteed to be free forever. And not to mention everyone and their sister's great aunt has made a video for a specific problem.
