Here's a "Screen Song" cartoon that I remember watching on WABC-TV Channel 7 when I was growing up in the 1960s. It features the most popular song of all time called "California Here I Come."
The fact that this particular cartoon exists in two generations (one duplicate struck in the 1950's with NTA's logo of the time as well as the black bars censoring Paramount and Technicolor, as well as this 70's print) is rather odd.
Although a sign appeared at the end of this cartoon saying "Censored, California chamber of commerce", the rain was actually telling the truth about what California really is. Florida is the Sunshine State. California is the Golden State.

The diesel locomotive doing a Native American imitation is the greatest explanation I have ever seen of the old Santa Fe "Warbonnet" livery.
I always enjoyed the orchestration and choral group that recorded the music for the Famous Studios bouncing ball cartoons

1:57 - seen in Shining Time Station.
Fun fact: The backgrounds during the sing along moment were also used in the episode, "Winter Draws On".

At least in the 70's, NTA didn't have a problem with Paramount's name still being on these.
They used this 1970’s NTA still logo rather than using animation and fanfare from Commonwealth United.
What mean is "NTA"?

I think 💬🤔 it's a long time ago.

California for what are they doing from the country?
I’m so surprised to find this cartoon was made in technicolor I always thought it was made in polacolor
So this is so far the only short that has the in technicolor banner all others either has in polacolor or color by technicolor

I always believe that each and every one of the Screen Song cartoons has the white bouncing ball.
"The Emerald Isle" Screen Song (with the song "McNamara's Band") features a bouncing shamrock.
"Base Brawl" features a bouncing baseball.
In "Snow Foolin," we are instructed to "follow the bouncing hen fruit" to sing "Jingle Bells".
@chuemmmeechuemmmee5868That is California's nickname.

I thoroughly enjoy the Famous Studios Screen Songs, have them on 16 and DVD, but who were the actual singers?
I think they were in-studio talent. They never received voice credits.
Possibly Singers from the Broadway Area
A delicious citrus fruit instead of the bouncing ball.
Amazing.

"OK, boss!" I thought that was an East Coast thing!
I have a faded NTA 16mm print, but is this transfer on a DVD set?
Came officially from NTA’s Cartoon Carnival Vol. 2 on VHS in the early 1980s.
