I reuse the same exact container, fill it with pine or Fabuloso, and water, great for kitchen counter surfaces, tables door knobs, and ur refrigerator handles.
I use white wash clothes in a ziploc when finish I bring home dump in a bucket of hot water and Clorox then throw in washer and use again see no waste
FYI bleach works best with cold water, not hot water
Omgee... I do the same thing! I grabbed some $.47 white wash clothes from Walmart to wipe down all work surfaces at my job..
Sonia Sanchez love that idea, Because good luck finding paper towels nowadays
Great reusable idea. I have been wiping things down everytime we purchase items at a store and I feel bad for making so much waste. I will be doing this from now on.
Great video but like people are saying there's no paper towels so I'm using baby wipes & just pouring the alcohol on them in their package & close it up & take them with me too. Hope everyone is staying safe🙏
Same here.
I used baby wipes and bleach
If in the budget get paper shop towels from Lowe's or Home depot. They are heavy duty and everyone ignores stuff like that. Remember ladies Home improvement stores got all kinds of stuff you can get creative with.
@@lblake5653 Not me I always think about other alternatives 😁. I make my own wipes out of things people ignore all the time.
Shirley Moore Great Idea
Hi! You can also use wet mop refills and add your own disinfectants to the already wet ones or use the dry ones and add your own mix in a reused container from old wipes. That kind of material holds up far better than paper towels. Also, you can get 15 in a pack at the dollar tree. There is other cloth like wipes of a similar material there and these can be cut to size and used the same way.
one of my ways i do this is that i used a already used coffee container (like the maxwell house one, i washed it and rinsed it out really good) & since i dont mind sitting and tearing apart the paper towels into smaller sheets, thats what i did, i love using the ajax tropical lime twist to it 🥰
Thank you for taking your time to help us when Supplies are running out. God bless you and your family.
Thank you.Me being brought up in the mountains and not having much I was taught use your old cloths as cleaning rags.
Old T-shirt’s, cloth diapers, old sheets, towels. But them into squares. You can use 4 table spoons of bleach to 2 cups of water . Put this is a spray bottle and spray your area then wipe it down.
You can have a bucket for your “dirty cleaning rags” wash them and reuse them.
Saves money on paper towels and the environment. When my children ( all in their 30’s now) were little I carried my cleaning rags in a ziplock bag moistened with a few drops of alcohol and water to clean my little monsters in the go.. and washed them later and reused again and again.
Thank you for this video! Keep an eye out at your local Dollartree for the alcohol; ours has it every now and then with a limit of course. Prayers to all!
Thank you!
This is genius! Thank you for this info. I literally never thought of anything like this.
Thank you for the awesome video!!!
For those of you who sew...I cut 5x5 to 6x6 squares of fabric and serged the edges so they can be washed and reused! :)
Sheila Holland What types of fabric did you use?
Wish I had a serger. Would zig zag work?
i also like your content and the way you put effort in these videos just for us and how you dedicate your time into making these types of videos
Great idea, and way cheaper than buying cleansing wipes...
Good idea ...thanks💜because depending on where you live the chances are slim to none finding Clorox/Lysol wipes ANYWHERE!
I buy the disinfectant wipes at Dollar General, 2 in a pk for $6.00. Just pull them aside and ask when they get shipment and be there
Thank you tracie you out here saving lives!
You’re welcome! 🤗✨
Looks great if you can find paper towel and alcohol.
Was at cost co at 10 am in Duncanville Tx, they had some at Cost Co.
Dollar stores have cotton swabs. CVS also has them. You can find paper towels just ask local stores when shipment comes in
@Mantralightofangels dollar stores
@@cynthiam4089 A lot of stores don't even know as it's a day by day basics.
For this recipe, you can get the shop paper towels in the automotive section at Walmart. Those are stronger than regular paper towels.
Fantastic video. Factual(as per CDC), and professional presentation. starting with 99% alcohol is a great idea, if you can find it without taking out a second mortgage.
Thank you!!! 🤗✨🙌🏽
Cool! I'm totally doing this but I'm going to use it with washable rags! Thanks for sharing this!
Awesome! You’re welcome ☺️
Maybe try shop towels because they are much stronger than regular paper towels.
I used a 13x8 container with a lid that I got from the Dollar Store and then I tore off the Shop Towels and stacked about 15 -20 and cut the stack right down the Middle. I the used like 3 or 4 32oz bottles of Purcell Disinfectant and poured a little in the bottom of the container first, then I stacked about 1-1/2 inch worth of the Shop Towels and then poured some more Disinfectant on top and kept stacking and pouring until I filled it up to the top and put the lid on it. I ended up using both of the rolls of the double pack Shop Towels. My wife Loves it!
Bounty towels works too, very thick.
shop towels would probably be great for this.
Shop towel shed their color and fibers. Messy cloths lol
The shop towels I have don't shed fibers nor bleed in color. They are very sturdy and have good absorbance.
@@sassyrarebreed9914 Did you buy the blue shop paper towels on a roll? I just bought a roll from Walmart.
Thank you so much! I’m running low on my two cleaners, so this will help
I have a tip for you: use distilled water next time. Tap water reduces alcohols dsinfectant properties.
Also anything over 70% I-so-pro-pal alcohol per CDC. The distilled water also helps it not to mold in humid environments.
Thank you for the great information! I'll definitely be making my own wipes.
@@lynnkiefer8373 Absolutely, I use Distilled water for homemade crafts ... Cremes, soaps, etc.
I was going to say that, 1.No tap water 2. NO Commercial detergents they have tons of dyes and chemicals. You can make them natural and very effective. You can even make Hand /baby wipes. 🌱💚💙
@Aljorie Stallings i dont know.
Great Idea. Thank you for making the video so easy to follow. Be safe and God Bless You! I am a new subscriber now after watching this video. Thank You.
You’re welcome and thank you for watching Mary! Welcome 🤗✨🍃
Thank you from an essential worker (Sara Lee bread)! I am going to make these to give to Amazon, UPS and company. Thanks again from Tulsa, Oklahoma☮️💖✝️. 🇺🇸👢
Thank you this is so good, when I couldn't find paper towel I used a roll of chux at the dollar store and made some.
Awesome, I’m so glad this helped! 🤗🍃🍃
💘 Love this video. Thanks so much for sharing! Hope you and your family are staying nice and safe😊!
Thank you! I pray you and your family are safe as well! 🍃
Very helpful n easy!!
What I have been doing is filling up my dish pan with bleach and dishsoap and hot water and just use what I need of paper towels (Bounty) then wipe everything down. Then everything is freshly wiped.
HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND AND STAY SAFE.
Thank you Cheryl! You stay safe too Sis! 🤗✨🍃
I use Clorox, it’s the best for me.
Been using Clorox for 50 years! 🙂
Awesome video! Thanks a Million for sharing 😊

Very good demonstration! I have an option as well that I may post. You and your family stay safe and blessed!
Hi!!! Thank you, and I would love to see yours! 🤗✨🍃✨🌺
Tracie, you are awesome!!! Thank you for all of your tips!!!! God Bless!!!
Haven't been able to find in stores or online Alcohol, Peroxide, Lysol spray, Purell or Clorax wipes. Feel like it's a set up.
Maybe but they are all prioritized for hospital use. Or they could be trying to kill us all. 🤔
Try Costco. I have had alot of luck with these items at Costco.
Winteel Try the dollar stores and use baby wipes.
Winteel these supplies have always been there till we all really needed them. I’m just thankful that I had a great pantry and medicine cabinet before covid19 broke lose.
I found hydrogen peroxide on ebay
This is very helpful. Thank you and stay safe and healthy.
I have found containers at Walmart and on Amazon that fit a whole role of paper towels instead of having to cut them in half...and be sure to get the "select a size" sheets
I'm such a germaphobe I always made sure I had Lysol or Clorox wipes , Lysol spray and hand wipes in my car and purse. I miss the days when I could just run into the supermarket at night and there they would be tons on the shelf and I would buy a few containers. I'm down to two containers of wipes left. Can't find alcohol anywhere.
Do you know that germaphobics kill all their good bacteria as well as the bad. We need some bacteria to fight infections etc
Me too
Very helpful, thank you Tracie
This is excellent!.... I'm going to use an empty antibacterial towel container 😄💕 thank you
You’re welcome! 😉
Me too...at least I will try to
What a great idea!! Also, your voice is so relaxing and soothing.
Thank you so much Sarah! 🤗💗
I'm going to do this right now thank you
Thank you for sharing Traci. I will try this method. Awesome video and well explained. God Bless.
Its sad but you have to be in stores at the right time.. i lucked up in Walmart today and grabbed some alcohol and disinfectant wipes.. they weren’t in the cleaning isle but over where the disposable wipes are near the hygiene products
Good to know. Thank you.
And water will reduce the rubbing alcohol.
Yes, intentionally, a 96º alcohol is not effective against virus, do your own research. I don't know because it evaporates too early or there is another chemical reason. The final solution must have from 60º to 70º as happens with the industrial hand sanitizer.
Or just use 70% isopropyl alcohol undiluted with water. Your chances of finding 70% are much better than your chance of finding 91% and much, much better than 99%, anyway.
I can’t be certain but 70% alcohol versus 99% alcohol means that 29% of the container is water. So if you use 99% alcohol and then dilute it with water you end up doing the same thing reducing the potency of the alcohol.
CDC recommends a minimum of 60% alcohol concentration for it to be effective. When you added half cup of water to 1 cup of 99% alcohol, you cut the alcohol content by half. 99/2=49.5% alcohol content, which is below the recommended value.
Actually, it would cut it to closer 66.6%. 2 parts alcohol to 1 part water.
Kel ly has
I was wondering about that when I saw her put the water in. Less water then
@Kel ly You want to stretch your product especially since it's hard to come by now. Dilute it to the recommended effective limit and you'll be good.
Thanks for the great idea. Shelves in Aust. have run out of sanitising cloths and hand sanitiser. Rubbing alcohol is good and you can get it from the chemist. Failing this you can use vodka. Add a little aloe Vera to this lovely recipe and yo can get a hand sanitiser .
This is very helpful Tracie! Hopefully we can supply stores soon!
Awesome! I’m so glad you liked the video! 🤗
@@traciesplace it was wonderful
Cool idea Tracie, TFS💚
Thank Cyndy!!! 🤗✨🍃🌺
Hi, great tip, plan to use it. I have 91% Alcohol available. Can I use less water say third of a cup and have the same result? Good job. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!..I do have these on hand and will look for the lavender and lime!..
Awesome! Thank you, Tracie! Great tip for now and beyond 😉
Thank you so much for this video! I love it and I have subscribed! ❤️🙏
You don't need to cut the paper towels you can just take them off the roll. I've seen Dr's doing it.
How it's going to fit?
Thank you!
Love your tips... Great video !
Thank you! 🤗✨
Buy a distiller from Water Wise. I bought mine in 2014 and makes 4 gallons per day. It’s great to drink the purest water on Earth. And we use it for cooking as well.
Thank you. Suggestion - Instead of tap water, use distilled water is even better. Tap water will reduce the isopropyl disinfectant properties.
Can’t you use the empty wipes containers you buy these in?
Hi! Yes- if you have one. Some people have never bought the Clorox or Lysol wipes and don’t have one of their canisters to reuse 👍🏽
This is clever! Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome! 🤗✨🍃
My Sister did this too when her Children were little.
Shared on Facebook and ClassyKim's Crochet 💚💗
Shop towels work the best! they are much sturdier than plain paper towels, just a suggestion.
EXCELLENT THIS IS THE RIGHT WAY TO MAKE THE WIPES!
Idk if anyone noticed and I hope it doesn’t come out offensive because I don’t mean it in any way shape or form but you look like the beautiful lil Kim (pre-drastic surgeries). Thanks for the great tips!!

Interesting and helpful tip.
Good job.
Thank you 😘 will try that !
The cardboard tube comes out much easier once you’ve poured the solution in. I’d love to make this but I cannot find alcohol anywhere.
I Will have to try this!
Rubbing alchaoll is VERY HARD TO FIND right now But u guys should check bodageas they surprisingly have some sometimes
Hi! Thank you, what is bodageas?
@@traciesplace bodegas are small pops and ma stores. They call them bodegas in the east coast. I live in LA and we have lots of liquor stores that have supplies. There alot more but they have stuff.
You can use grain alcohol. Use less alcohol & more water plus soap. Grain alcohol is 190 proof is why her alcohol is higher in percentage
denatured fuel alcohol would work in a pinch. it's around 95% ethanol with 2-5% isopropyl or Methanol. any hardware store in the US should have it in the paint thinner section.
Thank you
Ohhhh wow
I love that Idea

Why Is 70% the Most Effective Concentration of Isopropyl Alcohol for Disinfection?
Isopropyl alcohol, particularly in solutions between 60% and 90% alcohol with 10 - 40% purified water, is rapidly antimicrobial against bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Once alcohol concentrations drop below 50%, usefulness for disinfection drops sharply. Notably, higher concentrations of alcohol don’t generate more desirable bactericidal, virucidal, or fungicidal properties.
The presence of water is a crucial factor in destroying or inhibiting the growth of pathogenic microorganisms with isopropyl alcohol. Water acts as a catalyst and plays a key role in denaturing the proteins of vegetative cell membranes. 70% IPA solutions penetrate the cell wall more completely which permeates the entire cell, coagulates all proteins, and therefore the microorganism dies. Extra water content slows evaporation, therefore increasing surface contact time and enhancing effectiveness. Isopropyl alcohol concentrations over 91% coagulate proteins instantly. Consequently, a protective layer is created which protects other proteins from further coagulation.
Solutions > 91% IPA do kill bacteria, but sometimes require longer contact times for disinfection, and enable spores to lie in a dormant state without being killed. In this analysis, a 50% isopropyl alcohol solution kills Staphylococcus Aureus in less than 10 seconds (pg. 238), yet a 90% solution with a contact time of over two hours is ineffective. Some disinfectants will kill spores, which are classified as chemical sterilants. So why do higher alcohol solutions yield fewer results for bactericidal and antimicrobial outcomes?
Why Doesn’t Isopropyl Alcohol Kill Bacteria and Fungal Spores?
Some bacteria transform into spore cells when external conditions are unfavorable; the result is reduced metabolic activity, higher ‘cidal’ resistance, and immunity from alcohol-based disinfectants. Spores lie dormant, and once conditions become favorable again, the microbe converts back to a vegetative state and grows actively. When examining the effectiveness of IPA, accurately translating its benefits and shortcomings require distinctions of identity, purity, sterility, and intended use. Disinfection, unlike sterilization, does not provide sporicidal attributes.
Why Not Use Higher Isopropyl Alcohol (91%+) Concentrations?
70% isopropyl alcohol upholds key requirements for use as a bactericidal in cleanrooms or medical facilities, but also for general purposes. 70% IPA/30% water solutions produce less vapor and odor, therefore reducing risks of toxic fumes or combustion. When isopropyl alcohol reacts with air, light, and oxygen, it forms unstable peroxides which increase the likeliness of explosion, especially when heated with aluminum. IPA volatility increases with storage time and alcohol concentration, especially when exposed to light over multiple years after opening.
70% IPA is not only less flammable but also offers a more economical price point for general wipe down and large-surface disinfection. Likewise, high-moisture alcohols evaporate slower and increase contact time without becoming immediately dry. If 70% IPA is so effective as both a general-purpose cleaner and disinfectant, why use 99% concentrations?
Source: blog.gotopac.com/2017/05/15/why-is-70-isopropyl-alcohol-ipa-a-better-disinfectant-than-99-isopropanol-and-what-is-ipa-used-for/
If you have lower concentration my doctor said to add part water part alcohol and boil it, it makes it rise up a better %.
So I have 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. Do you thing how much water should I mix to dilute it to 70%
Thank you Tray tray. I can’t find any wipe in the store. 😘
