    I have a bit of a situation here. I train kids at our local pond, on safety, and other boat avoidance techniques I got this boat for one of my best drivers., because it's basically " Bomb proof. . It wasn't totally kid proof.. AT the pond I asked "Ezra," where's your boat. His mother informed me, the boat was in the car, and had an accident. She didn't didn't go into details. But something happened. THE kid had managed to snap off, the top of the water cooling coupler (SMALL brass tube/ fitting ) It looks like , the small brass piece, is stuck in the end of the cooling tube. . Sheared off. ARGG. It looks the part is running at about$ 50.00. (I would prefer take the MacGyver approach to fix this. ) Ordinary , I would simply add some inline cooling . But, being a new boat, and a SELF- righting boat, I would prefer to not do surgery. Everything else on the boat, is fine, SO, I STILL DON"T know exactly what he did, to snap the part. Have you seen this, on this boat, before?
    Thanks, Mark

    Between turtles and alligators I'd be afraid to drive my boats in your neck of the woods. You should try western n.c.. just have to worry about getting a ticket for driving in the no wake zone 😅

    I'm guessing a 2200 size 3S would just be too big for the boat? I have a bunch of them for helicopters and planes and I'm trying to find a boat that matches up with them so I can use them on multiple platforms. I'm still having a hard time matching up what size and length of boat will match to what battery. I have a 42" blackjack and it needs a ton of weight in it to prevent flipping. Seems like the 1800 in the little shreddy might be out of CG for that prop. Cool to see it move that quick though!

      1800 to 2200 works in the recoil 18 I like the 1800 because the boat is more agile.

    Great video Big B! I’m definitely going to be purchasing the 1800 or 2200 smc pac, do you think the 3014 Oxidean prop will be good for this boat?

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  10 месяцев назад

      You'll need an 1/8 to 4mm prop adapter, yea the 3014 was good last time I ran it.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  2 месяца назад

      The 1800mah 80c smc pack is slower than the 30c 1300mah spektrum pack? That's odd. You must have a setting off on your transmitter? I would deffer check the settings or trim tabs cause that pack should be a great upgrade

    Will the Spektrum 2200 Mah 30 c pack fit ? I am new to the hobby and want more battery life. it is 1.2 inches longer than the 1300 it comes with .

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  4 месяца назад

      If it's a shorty pack, then yes, BUT I think 2200mah 3s spektrum packs are longer than the stock battery. I'd Measure the stock battery and match the length up.

      😮
      I dare to say...*YES* ✅️😁 I did a few laps today with a 4S 1550mAh 120C V2 (Tattu R-line). Max ~3 mins discharged to ~3.9V per cell w/ Python 40A ESC (branded *ZTW Shark G2* in the US, I believe?). It's a short and *thick* lipo which fits the tray perfectly. The tray's strap did not fit 100%, but I used Velcro too 😅
      Motor temp was ~90F...ESC ~70F or so...ice cold 🧊😮 I did not check the temps right away though (maybe 2 mins after a few laps when I pulled up the boat).
      *44 mph...no smoke*...my PB with this baby 🚤💨📟👀👌 ...but yeah, I know a prop mod or upgrade can achieve the same speed with 3S...I might get the DasBoata Super 18 prop, unless it just makes this one too crazy combined with 4S (uncontrollable)? 😦 Still, if ~50 mph is possible with no smoke...gotta try, right? 😁🚤💨

    • @skyblazer2815
      @skyblazer2815 6 месяцев назад

      Note: 40A ESC on stock settings (Awaiting a program card, mostly to increase motor cut-off voltage from the 3V to 3.4V or so - maybe I will try *High* timing setting too, instead of *Auto* 🤔).

      Guys, testing 4S this weekend on the local lake (gotta be careful of them reeds though 🍀🌱). Wish me luck 🚤💨😋🤞 I just hope the motor can handle ~40K RPM 👀
      And yes, I did upgrade the ESC (a tight fit), but won't expect more than 45 mph with the stock propeller (my TFL 32 1.4p might be a tad faster, but not by much 🤔).
      Might get the DasBoata super 18...

      @IRONCLADRC I got it and ran it in my pond one evening and had a blast like you and your video. I took it out another with my kids and we hit a small patch of weeds and then it's like it won't break the plane and I'm not seeing any physical damage. I blew through the hoses to see if the are clogged and seemed to be fine. Would you know enough to tell me where to look on the boat. We are new to boats, we have a bunch of cars.
