This is a good tutorial. For many years I would not pop at the very top of the lip. This would result in a backseat landing or under rotation every single time. It is critical to push off/pop off the very top of the jump when it is right under your foot…and the front of the ski already off the lip.
trifes thank you 🫶🏻It is so helpful to learn from your videos. I am new to freestyle skiing and hoping to land my first 3 this winter!!!! You explain things so well I even enjoy watching your lessons that are way above my skill (someday i will stomp a dub 10). Thanks again bro, you are the best.
I find myself often getting spooked halfway around, stopping the rotation, and counterrotating to finish the spin. I know this is bad, but how do I fix it?
Same here I'm super comfortable with 180's because I always stop rotating when going for a 3. I think I'm setting it wrong or not looking with my head enough because I see people do 3's while super relaxed off the same jumps I just can't figure it out.
I am willing to bet that you are not popping off the end of the jump. Your foot is not literally pushing off the very last piece of the jump. You are twisting while your skis are still connected to the snow and it’s killing your rotation…does this sound correct? For me the rotation is completely effortless and not even frightening only if I can get up the courage to pop strong and correct off the top of the jump.
@@hopNglo you are actually totally right. i went skiing this weekend and my friend told me "don't even think about spinning just focus on the pop" and i popped really hard and then spun and it worked perfectly. stomped it.
Can’t wait to get started! Question, when my head coming around, leading the spin, should i be looking down for the landing or at the horizon? Thanks 🤙
hey bud ! ideally you only look down with your eyeballs to spot the landing. most of the times people tend to tilt their head down which can lead to off axis stuff and loss of balance. make sure you dont tilt the head :) vision only so you can spot the landing and prepare for landing.
This Tutorial applies to every jump size. The technique won't change. I advise to look for jumps that you feel comfortable, obviously smaller jumps or lips into soft snow next to the slopes. :) after that you can take it to the sizes you prefer for progression.
I'm so afraid of not being able to complete the full 360 and then smashing onto my shoulder. I once broke it when doing a nose butter 360 and that scares me. Another issue is like when I did 1st front flips into a swimming pool... it took quite a while until I had control during the airtime and before that happened finally I "enjoyed" some painful water landings. So I'm concerned that this lack of controldzring the 360 spin might happen again ... but this time no water
The slow mo and rewinds in this and your cork 360 videos are absolute money, these are fantastic tutorials!!
Thank you ! Trying my best for you guys :)

Full send just that dint even care
@spencerimre - that’s awesome. Sometimes it’s easier said than done. It feels frightening to wait and see the front of your ski leaving the jump.

Do you recommend sending it in powder for first try? Trying to hype myself up for my first 360, natural progression from 180
Soft snow or little powder is always a good way to try stuff out :)

i think we should probably do a 360 on a small jump first?

does looking down while spinning throw you off?
if you look with your eyes only, no - if that ends up tilting your chin downwards - yes !
@@CoachTrifes thx
