2 things stand out to me in this Test Match. 1. Remembering how amazing Curtly Ambrose truly was. 2. From his 1st test match. What a fighter Justin Langer was. When all of his more experienced colleagues were falling left & right. He battled away, almost helping Australia win this from nowhere.
Today's match played between WI and Australia brought back memories to this very match which happened 30 years ago. Today's match was up there as being one of the best test matches of all time. The Windies are here people with Shamar Joseph leading the leather hunt
When I watched cricket during my childhood days I remember that it was good quality . But when I watch that now, it's very poor quality . But now I understand it was not well preserved by tv channels . Thanks for this good quality video. And great test match.
Awesome test match and amazing fast bowling of Ambrose. JL played so nice. Got to see young version of many great players. Need more long highlights like this. Keep up the good work CA.
I'm in Adelaide and remember this. As the game was played here it wasn't shown on TV, so I didn't see it but heard it on the radio. I was heartbroken at the result. Two more runs would have been the perfect ending for local boy May on his birthday and a series win in Border's last series against the WI, who had dominated through the 80s. Lots of interesting things here: Only 2 overs for Warne in 2st inns. And he was so athletic back then. Young looking Langer on debut. A few all-run fours, which often happened at Adelaide in those days. Some general signs of the old days: Test players smoking. LBWs without the extra drama of DRS. WI with four fast bowlers. No boundary rope and spectators leaning over the pickets to get the ball.
And the test series in Australia sponsored by Benson and Hedges. Proper commentary. And if the umpire said it was out that was it like you said. Good comment. 👍👍
This is a historical victory of Caribbean team and this is the great match what a good bowling performance by West Indian bowlers great bowling lineup and great victory
We surely miss watching proper test matches. Please keep on uploading as many as you can of any test matches possible. Vintage recommended over those after 2010. Also if possible please upload full matches, not only just the highlights of wickets and boundaries.
Bottled thunder @ his best.Bill Larry with his panicky style ,God I miss this kind of coverage .Each and every commentator had his own signature style.Absolute GEM 💎
This was one of the most heartbreaking match ever. It was an unfortunate test match for Australia because of losing that match by one run.I wish that Australia could have won this match but West Indies were certainly a better team that day and they deserved to win this match and overall a great game of cricket 🏏
The Decline of the Mighty West Indies of the 80's had started with the Retirement of Legends like Sir Viv Richards, Gordon Greenidge, Malcolm Marshall and Jeffery Dujon in 1991, but it was still the team to beat for at least 4 more years. But the gap was closing and closing fast as this Match shows.
Started long before that pantas. Viv and co were old by 88 and even though it is possible Pakistan could have drew with us in our prime, they were greatly helped by the fact that viv, haynes, greenidge and Maco were all over 30. The English tour of 1990 confirmed this.
It was a low- scoring , but a thrilling encounter ! And , of course, it was great of West Indies to pull off a win, even as some vital umpiring decisions went against them .
Please do upload Australia India CB Series 2nd Final 2007/08 @Gabba and Australia England CB Series final 2006/07 @MCG both these matches went down to the wire !
David boon. One of the toughest players Australia ever produced and during this particular period the most consistent player in the team . Certainly more consistent than mark Waugh
Would love to see the Windies return to a competitive side again. Used to groan as a kid every time Lara walked out to the crease. You just knew he was going to be in for the next day and a half.
Aussie Batsmen said every single ball Bishsop ever bowled was 150 kph or above..EVERY SINGLE BALL..let that sink in. I am Aussie throughw and through but windies had bowlers who made u wince even seating in the crowd much less facing them. We had no chance.
What about the last wicket? The batsman didn't seem to nick it but Australia were lucky with a few LBW decisions going their way. Test cricket at it's best
On the same ground in 1990 Murves Hughes was having some eye to eye fight Waseem Akram and in innings Waseem Akram scored 123 and imran khan scored 136..
When I see Carl Hooper's batting, it reminds me of Nick Kyrgios. Though these two played different sports, they were enormously talented whose records don't do justice to their potential. They both lacked concentration which was a big thing for their poor records.
Hello cricket com au please uploaded Australia vs India 2003 world cup match.. Ricky Ponting hit 140 * vs India.. Australia 359/2.. India 234 /10 all out.. Australia win 125 runs final world cup match 2003.. Please uploaded next Sunday..
Australian Umpires were horrible. Langer was gone out at least thrice LBW early on. DRS really hurt the Australians as they cant get away with this kind of stuff anymore
15 Years and 29 series unbeaten. West Indies from 1980-95 were truly the GOAT test team.
Great players , legendary commentators and channel 9 coverage was a treat to watch in the 90,s . One of the All time great test match .
Watching old test matches gives better feeling than watching movie.....Masterpiece match
I miss Richie and Lawry and Greig just as much as cricket in the 80’s, and early 90’s.
It was a good package....
I totally agree. They were the best for me.
Thank you so much for these flashback streams. I live in the USA and miss cricket so much. These long videos are nostalgic and wonderful.
When test cricket was deservedly king.
truly agree
Definitely. I totally agree.
Would say test cricket is in pretty good shape now... for every Adelaide Test 93 back in those days, there were probably three no result snorefests
One of the best test matches ever. Thanks for uploading. Like the Australian team, CA too have taken their retro-live game to another level.

This is the last time west indies won a series against Australia in 1992-93
31 years now unbeaten
I think WI won at home in 1999. The infamous rowdy crowd series.
No wrong look into the record books, you will get the answer
Awesome test match and amazing fast bowling of Ambrose. JL played so nice.

An era when cricket was Gentlemen's Game. 👏
Ambrose, Walsh, Bishop, two Benjamins formed a formidable pace battery for the Calypso Boys.
Bottled thunder @ his best.Bill Larry with his panicky style ,God I miss this kind of coverage .Each and every commentator had his own signature style.Absolute GEM 💎
Wow love to listen this legends Bill lawry and tony greig
Loved it, want more of those test highlights.

This series belongs to ambrose he took nearly 34 wickets lara made 277 runs in sydney test
Thanks for the good archives. Would love to see old cricket matches from the 1990s and the 2000s.
In the main picture of this vid I just love the cheesy grin of Alan Border... great guy... All respect... 😎♥️

@@juanestadian8471 But West Indies were still unbeaten until 1995......
The trouble that the West Indies had was how do you replace legends like that??
Ambrose, Walsh, Bishop ,Benjamin --> must giving chills and scares to batsman just by hearing names

Haha
Aus also played really well
Love the Langer/Boon story. Find it kind of funny that JL thought Boonie had his arm around him.
I think he did. Didn’t he?? I’m sure I remember seeing that.
Boon lent JL his jumper as well apparently!!
That's was classic cricket 🏏 missing that era
THIS IS ONE OF THE TEST MATCHES THE AUSSIES WILL NEVER FORGET
Same like how the video game was...
wow nostalgic hit me hard.😎
It was like yesterday. How time has passed since then..
Phil Simmons batting style having big resemblance with Sir Viv Richards batting style
26-1-1993,Tuesday. I heard the full commentary, Radio Aus❤
Ambrose at the end , I haven’t had luck in the series till Adelaide , Perth was next..
Best catches
D, E, G
In my opinion E is the bestest catch
Wat a match👏👏👏👏

The last time that WI won a series against Oz
Thank you
I wish they had speedometer back in the days. I wonder if there is any technology that will enable us to measure the speed in these old recordings.
Aussie Batsmen said every single ball Bishsop ever bowled was 150 kph or above..EVERY SINGLE BALL..let that sink in. I am Aussie throughw and through but windies had bowlers who made u wince even seating in the crowd much less facing them. We had no chance.
Windies powerful bowling.....
Loved it 🥰🥰
Mc Dermott was a very underrated bowler got vetter in his later years .
The golden westtindies days
What about the last wicket? The batsman didn't seem to nick it but Australia were lucky with a few LBW decisions going their way. Test cricket at it's best

21:29 - Baby Justin Langer.
Keith Atherton should have been awarded West Indian player of the Century...😂
i'd like a review on that final wicket
1:02:11 it didn’t brush his arm. Clearly touched the bat.
Wrong. It definitely brushed the arm but it might have touched the bat as well
1:23:22 is absolutely criminal. Clear LBW not given 😮. That's as plumb as you can get 😂.
Why do you persist on replaying painful moments for Australian cricket fans?
That's not painful. They only lost by 1 run after all that praying. Great Memories.
Because they can take it. They love good cricket and don't whine about losing.
@@sportsfanatic5719 I whine about this game all the time. Terrible decision at the end there by Hair that cost us the series.
@@kylekutasi950 haha, understandable. Same goes for the 1994 SCG game vs SA.
Aton Freckleton that was a different game and had no bearing on the result.
Did McDermott hit that? Doesn't matter, just curious.
Sherlock Holmes
I was thinking the same thing.
He didn't, but tbh if the umpiring was good in this game Windies would have won far more comfortably. A lot of clear catches/lbws turned down

CAN I HOPE INDIANS TOO HAVE THIS TYPE OF CHANNEL......
I find the windies not looking fit as the aussi here i can see why we became so behind well at least one reason ....
Where you find this full match ???
What a bouncer froom Ian bishop.
Wellcome J langer
WI just inch good on that day
Imagine these west Indies bowling to virat, rohit, dhoni
This was the top test cricket, today's cricket is for the batsmen only nothing good for the bowlers.
I am big fan of Australia team
