CBP is the only law enforcement agency granted by the supreme court to not need probable cause to search. When you are at the border or border checkpoint, you are subject to search without PC.
I am former U.S. Customs of 16 years and I worked with K-9 officers and their dogs. Some of the ones pictured here were going too fast. Seems each dog is unique and Labradors are a favorite.I prefer German Shepherds, or Australian Shepherds, but some prefer "Bird Dogs". Wish we had more back when I was at the border. I had to rely on behavioral analysis to catch my loads, but still conformed it with a dog later sometimes. See also customs corrruption(dot) com
Maybe these dogs are better at picking up on the non-verbal commands than yours were. Of course, none of these dogs are trained to find anything. You admit, yourself, that you used racial profiling (“behavioral analysis” 😂) to find your victims. Then you commanded the dog to mark their car, so you’d have your blanket warrant. Too bad nobody dealt with you the way the Declaration of Independence says we’re supposed to.
The best way to describe the two agencies is... The "Border Patrol" enforces the border between the ports of entry, "Customs" enforces inside ports of entry. Of course both do much more not listed here.
I applaud their efforts as long as this is done on the actual border. The people working at checkpoints maybe fifty to eighty miles from the border should be ashamed of themselves. The founding fathers of this great country would be disappointed. It just seems like something you would of seen in the Soviet Union or under the national socialists in Germany.
Dogs working at interior check points fall under the same laws and rules as regular law enforcement. The courts have ruled an exterior vehicle search is non intrusive so an officer will request permission to do an interior search from the driver. If the K-9 alerts on the outside of the vehicle that is enough PC to get a search warrant.
If so how and where would it be documented? Even then, you can't brand EVERYONE who is in service, for the sake of few instances - not every governmet worker is a stereotypical corrupt traitor. Like cops, they all get the bad name over a handful of unscrupulous uniformed criminals - those should be prosecuted with full justice; but why blame every one wearing the uniform? A lot of service men and women are honest and proud citizens - they're no different from us.
The Malinois that came out of the helicopter, in the second video clip. Looked severely underfed. Is that just me? He could have been young, but man, my 10 month old mal looks more healthy and in shape than that. So sad...
it can not be good for the dogs, they have to smell the cars when the engine still running, try to emagine how mutch poisen they get in the lungs evry singel day, no human will do that to them self, so why do they force the dogs to do it, stop the engines when they smell the cars.

Love Em!!
wander if they had a warrant for the search or were they looking to build cause before requesting a warrant.
Well even those dogs have been airborne.... i feel such a failure right now.

Blanket warrants, trained to “mark” upon non-verbal command.
Not a game.A German Shepherd Dog needs a job/WORK or they are unhappy.
Yeah, people don't seem to get that.
The first dog in the video is VERY tired. :-((
The dogs seem to be having fun. But how do you keep them "fresh" if they go all day without finding anything? Don't they get discouraged?
They’re not “looking” for anything to find. They mark when the officers command them to. They’re blanket warrants.

None of that matters. Dog’s only there as a blanket warrant.
Which is why they are so unreliable. Often times they will just alert in order to get their treat.
