I tried to learn blender 4-5 times in the past. I was only able to learn blender after I found this channel. Try the way he does, its actually quite simple.
Its mostly all about techniques tbh.. for Characters i use blender to get the general shape and then use nomad on my ipad ( or any zsculpting app would work as well) and go in with all the details. Eyes, hands and face can be harder but if youd like you could use a Character creator such as CC3 and then adjust in afterwards. For animation you can start playing with Mixamo from adobe and then from their rig you could work some customs animations once you are comfortable
I've watched all your 10-min challenges and they never get old, always learn something and beyond that it's just inspirational seeing you accomplish these with such limited time. Once my daughter grows older, I'll make her watch your videos too. Great job.
you have grown nice and steady. found a sweet niche on the platform. ironically i came for audio and subbed for the 10 min challenge, keep ticking over man, well earned
Would love to see a proper tutorial, particularly with the import into Unity, for the Shade Keys! I learn so much in these 10 minute vids and I really appreciate you sharing them with the community.
inspires me to make my characters and rig them . amazing job man . you make it look so simple . always thought it was too difficult . Keep it up love these videos.👍
Me the whole video: "Looks so great!" Imphenzia at the end: "Maybe it's not the best fold of the robe here…" Me at the end: "Are you kidding me…?" @Imphenzia, this is (as always) an impressing 10-minute job! I still play around with Blender doing some simple rocks out of that cube and I need easily half an hour, although I just use the Randomizer tools on some selected faces. @Imphenzia, I would love to see you modelling either some kind of star ship bridge (maybe some diorama kind of a Star Trek alike ship bridge, not necessarily the one from any of the different USS Enterprise versions, but maybe just "Star Trek-ish" including some control panels and a captain's chair and such stuff) or a cockpit of a star fighter (a pilot's POV as if you are sitting in an X-Wing from Star Wars or in the Arwing from Starfox or something like that including a steering stick and some knobs and controls). Keep up the good work. Lookin' forward your Low-Poly marathon. 👍
I once had a hard time with copying the same shapekeys to different objects! never knew there was a way to automatically copy. I had to do it all by hand so thanks for the tip
It's not necessary to duplicate your mesh object in order to create a shape key. You can use the shape key list in the properties window to add a new shape key to your mesh, and so long as you have that shape key selected when you are in Edit Mode, you will edit that shape key.
As usual great tips and very simple to follow. You always provide quality info. The shape keys video and getting those into Unity I think will be very well appreciate it since there is not good videos that show how to do it properly ;p
What did you do at 18:28 ff? It seems the video cutting has taken away too much... (I guess you moved the arms towards the torso, but I have no idea how to do that, since at this place you say "Since we have inverse kinematics..." [CUT]) Thank you!
I'm not sure what you mean by "using controls" but Imphenzia made a video showing how to import animations and models to unity! ruclips.net/video/vrN9duEoA6g/видео.html
Great Tutorial as usual. Yes, please do the Shape Key tutorial, I'd love to learn how to bring this into Unity. Well done on the massive increase in subscribers by the way!
I can't believe I missed the premiere. I thought it was Wednesday today. Shape Keys are a very good feature in Blender, and can be controlled with drivers as well.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I am a begginer user of Blender and your tips helps a lot. I followed up all you instructions for the creation of the wizzard. I also decided to add fingers in both hands and one staff in the right hand. Here is a question : Once adding an object (in this case the staff in one hand) Is there a way to link it to the rig? How i can do this easily?
love your tutorials. I'm learning blender and following your tutorials. One question, I've notice that you have some sort of shortcuts when you press F keys like F3 ect. when I press F keys they don't work for me , they lower the volume on the pc or do other stuff. Is this shortcuts custom or something?
Thanks for these awesome tutorials. I follow along and end up getting something close to your final model. Any chance you could model some helicopters next ? Something like the sci-fi tank you did last time.
Go to Edit>Preferences, enable Mesh:Loop Tool. Selec the area that you want to flat, right click, click on loop tools and, after, FLATTEN. Hope I helped, have a nice day.
As usual, great tutorial! It'd be really useful to see how you import animations into Unity. I'm currently struggling with some of my animations that show differently in Unity compared to what they are in Blender (weird rotations)
I don't understand, whenever I follow this exact method and use automirror or just apply the mirror modifier in the modifier tab manually, it just creates a copy of the entire object and doesn't mirror properly. Is there some setting you have which prevents that?
Great tutorial. The shape keys is a great idea. would love a tutorial on that. I do have a request. I have a model that has no armature and another one that has armature and all the animation I need. Do you know how to copy the armature over with the animations. That would be super super helpful.
You can watch his videos at a slower speed and pause often while you try what he says in Blender. However, if you are new to Blender like me, I suggest printing out a "cheat sheet" of keyboard shortcuts/commands to reference while you are following his videos. He has great tips and info spread out through his videos.

Create a separate shape keys tutorial and how to import them to unity, please. And I would like to see how you can import a hood, ponytail or something else and make it as physicaly based cloth animation in unity. That would be awsome.
imphenzia im relatively new to blender...when i try to apply armature modififer to my model it says 'modifier is disabled, skipping apply' i tried to look in preferances to enable but cud not find...can u tell whats wrong?
Have you seen a game called ravenfield it is a lowpoly game anyway was wondering could you do a tutorial on how to make lowpoly soldier kinda like that.
Hey man how do you import a model colored this way into unity? I followed one of your tutorials on how to set it up in blender but didn't see how to color it in unity.
Import the texture in Unity, set Compression to "None" (otherwise colors will be wrong) and also set Filtering to Nearest/None (otherwise colors will also be wrong). Then create a material with that texture as the Albedo map, and assign the new material to your object in Unity.
You make everything look so easy

"model a wizard in 10 minutes (after 10 years of learning blender)"

Is it just me, or can this video literally be used as a tutorial?
It's not meant to be a tutorial, yet it's better than 100% of tutorials... Amazing!
24 hour livestream? It’s going to take me like 2 months to watch that.

I hope with all the fantasies things lately we can see low polygon Werewolf and other creatures!
Ooh, that would be interesting!
That would be so cool!
You son of a cube, you did it again!
Congrats on your videos, you make a massive contribution to the CG community with your stuff.
three days in and I am hooked, its going to take a LONG time for me to be able to model freely like this but boy oh boy is this stuff fun!

i've been re-familiarizing myself with shape keys. a full tutorial wouldn't hurt.

Muchas gracias amigo. Excelente tutorial.
Wonderful Magician. I've learned animation. Thank you. Have a great day~
Another great tutorial, thank you. Any chance you can do one on implementing Shape Keys in unity?
This man is trying to make these models in a short amount of time while I've been modelling my donut for the past 2 hours
For some reason I can’t see the flatten option when I press f3. Can someone help?

One low poly wizard modelling and rigging another!
I've never seen shape keys done that way before. I think I'll try it that way next time.
How can you get that “cavity” style look in an actual eevee or cycles render?
He shows it in his blender settings video i think

Hey I was wondering how do I make it mirror on both sides like you did? On my blender where you checked off the mirroring, I don't have that option
