A chrome grill is going to look very out of place when everything else is orange and black. I would do a paintable grill, paint it body color and the honeycomb in the grill gloss black. Chrome is not gonna look good on that thing.
This for sure. As soon as I saw that grill I thought the same thing
No chrome pops on orange and black i had a orange and black gsxr1000 and went with chrome wheels i got the most compliments on that bike then any other bike ever and as soon as fall hits and Halloween comes around its a great time to have that color blends in for fall foliage also

I totally agree!! No chrome on this thing. Either gloss black or matte black on the honeycomb and badge and orange on the rest of the grill.

above and way beyond the average restoration, this shop has all of its assets churning one beautiful finished product, wayyyy awesome job, im guessing the cost around 25k and hopeful you guys gain some serious pub.
Paint it black with the orange color around the edges of the Chevy emblem
Just a fantastic job. Hat's off to all the guys there at the shop. They are fantastic and it shows in the work they are doing. In addition to the training and education they are providing you and allowing you to be there and work alongside them. The finish and quality is just going to be fantastic. Great color choice. Of all the sorting and decisions in choosing. You chose the right one. As for the bow tie on the grill. Satin black is going to be the proper contrast. Down the road you could possibly do a pinstripe. Come in a quarter of a inch..... and the do a single line outline of the bow tie.. 1/8th or 3/16 inch thick.
You made ref as to thought of cost for the job. PRICELESS. No offense at all to the shop and the guys there. They are going above and beyond... this is show quality. However, unfortunately and understandable... no shops do or take in a full restoration / custom and all the bodywork..job like this anymore. With the exception of a very few ... very few. Full custom shops. Everyone else has gone the route of "collision repair " insurance jobs only. Look at the price he quoted for just the one "color " paint... add in EVERYTHING else.. I would estimate 50k easily. Not to mention it would be in the shop far a long time. Much more cost effective for the shop to just do collision repair. Than full on restoration jobs. Or even just a repaint type job. Which is sad, but simply a sign of the times. However.... with the increasing cost of new vehicles. People are going to be repeating history and looking at keeping what they have. Then just doing a repaint. Honestly it is why the rat rod or patina look as made such a come back. Shoot with a satin flat clear coat and go with it...This is going to be a beautiful truck when it is finished. But the devil is in the details... and that's where the time and patience pays off.

Man I just love ORANGE 🍊 Color on this truck. My fav color from house of color was candy brandy wine but in the orange was candy tangerine seen in on a corvette at a show it was just stunning your truck is just color is just killer nice job for the body shop. A nice small pin strip down the side in my opinion would accent it enough but not take away from the truck way to go 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Kudos to the whole crew that had a hand in this beautiful project WAY TO GO YOU GUYS ROCK

The amount of rust and panel repairs and working the entire body plus pro paint job this would easily start at $15k i would think. Guys are doing great work it looks amazing.
I'm going to say if I walked in there and paid them to do that I'm probably low but I would guess $15K-$17K. Didn't read comments just watched the video. I do love that orange though! Love seeing different stuff that isn't weird like pink or purple.

This whole deal has been so cool to watch. I agree with another comment about the chrome grill not fitting in with the overall package. I would be curious to know your cost on this (if you’re willing) but more so if someone they didn’t know had them do it. Anyway, this will be one more bad ass truck.

Looks a lot like the Inferno orange that is on my 2012 Chevy Sonic, that was bought brand new and now has 270K on it. Still driving every day.👍
I’d paint the Chevy emblem blue. Matches the piping and ladder bars.

Definitely black for that grill & maybe barely leave a 1/8 “ gold outline on the Chevy Bow tie emblem…. Just my 2 cents . Looking killer so far though 😎👍
Go flat black with the bow tie and do an orange pinstripe or line around the emblem leaving a little bit of black on the outside.

I bought an orange truck once, called it "the great pumpkin", painted it white.
I'd say flat black emblem and an orange outline around the bow tie.
If you're keeping the chrome grill, paint the upper & lower grill inserts orange like the rest of the truck body......

Paint the bowtie the same color blue as the traction bars. Black chrome the grille. $18 - 20k for the entire job.
So now that the body work is close to being finished up, I'm thinking we should think about vgt swapping the turbo

Matte black the grill and orange bowtie...just like the wheels... the blue has to stay to the bottom of the truck it has no right coming up into the paint job unless you run thin blue pinstripes and even at that idk if it would. #johnny 5 😂

I think that a paintable grill is the move orange grill black honeycomb and a blue bow tie . Not my money where spending though.
Also money wise on tear down and all the rust repair your probably looking at 8-10 range?
i will say these guys are taking a big risk panel painting that color.....hope it turns out good

Roughly 15k for painting and stripping fully. Obviously prices very but my buddies father owns a local body shop and both of my buddies work there and I previously talked to them about a price on painting a 2024 Chevy 2500hd 6.6 gasser from the frost white color to a hunter green and they said it’ll be roughly 15k with stripping everything down and doing it the correct way by painting everything including the covered sections. It’s funny because my great uncle used to own their exact shop back in the 80s and 90s could be early 2000s too I’m unsure. My father worked there when it was my uncles shop and I’ve worked there a couple times being my buddies families shop.
Also for the emblem Matte black with orange accents to blend it in. If it was newer emblem you could trace the edges and have the orange towards the middle without it looking like it was just layed over the black.

Your some where around 18k I got a quote to just color change my duramax crew cab long bed.. re paint the jams and I was going to do all the prep work they said 5k so everybody working on your your up their.

Josh, costs. $$$ 40-50k . for the bowtie? what color accents are you doing under the hood? that might be the color for the bowtie. as the hood is opened your eyes pull in that will pop. just a thought!

With the orange color and chrome grille, this truck needs some chrome or polished wheels.
the honeycomb on the grill needs to be the orange color and the bowtie needs to be the matte black. honestly what wouldve been better is a paintable grill thats orange, the honey comb matte black and bowtie orange.
the truck has come a long way from being a 3500$ rusted pos off of marketplace lol. bet the old owner is punching the air right now seeing what youve turned this truck in to 😂. hopefully one day i can do like a quater of what has been done to this to my slightly rusted lb7
