I tried not to panic, but a febrile seizure put my 9 month old in the PICU. He stopped breathing, had to have 2 IOs in his legs to get meds in, and had to be intubated, because he stopped breathing on his own. We almost lost him. There were 8 people working on his little body in the ER. Thankfully, he survived and is thriving now.

Can you do a video on how to live your life with a child who suffers from febrile seizures? Most importantly during the night time hours. Our 2 year old had one right before we were going to put him down for the night. He sleeps in his own room.

Please what can I do? My 3 years old son has been convulting since he were 1 years old. Most time it comes without fever and even after the convulsion, no fever is observed and this boy can't speak at his age, he still behave like a baby. This convulsion happens every month, it happens a week or more in a month and he has been diagnosed with no positive result. Please what can I do?

İts always said it is between the age 6 - 6 years. Can a febril seizure stop after the age 6? Or after 7

It can still happen but would not be categorized as "simple," and so would require a bit more workup. I would check with your pediatrician.

I need to know if 3 febrile seizures a month is normal for a 5 year old. He typically has had 2 a year but this year in total has been about 6. I meet with our doctor every single time an episode happens and he said as long as he had a fever with it, it is considered a febrile seizure. I need help, don’t know what to do anymore.

I'm sorry this is happening. By definition if the episodes are not within 24 hours of each other, it still qualifies as simple and therefore don't need a work up. Without seeing your child (and knowing more about the episodes) I can't say for sure, but I encourage you to keep asking questions to your pediatrician if you are uncomfortable with the answers. After the age of 6, it wouldn't qualify as "simple" anymore, and I hope they stop soon.
