Definition of status epilepticus is older one, its 5 minutes not 30 minutes
The ILAE has redefined the
definition of SE to reflect the time at which treatment should be initiated (t1
) and time at which continuous seizure activity leads to long-term sequelae
(t2 ) such as neuronal injury, depending on the type of SE.
For generalized tonic-clonic seizures, SE is defined as continuous
convulsive activity or recurrent generalized convulsive seizure activity
without regaining of consciousness (t1 = 5 min, t2 ≥ 30 min). The definition
differs for SE consisting of focal seizures with impaired awareness (t1 = 10
min, t2 = 30 min) and absence SE (t1 = 10-15 min, t2 = unknown).
You have to remember all these criteria for SE according to Nelson 21 edition
Can i have seizure before then after half hour very high fever is ut febrile seizure
Yes
Mam i have seizures jerking my legs and hand feeling unconsciousness
Take neurophysician opinion in your city
Mam when there is brain structural damage as in medial temporal sclerosis, there is a KNOWN cause for seizure, then why it is called as epilepsy.?
Please answer mam
Your videos are very conceptual .thank you mam 🙏🏼
Epilepsy is defined as two unprovoked seizures occurring >24 h apart
We label primary epilepsy- if it's idiopathic
Secondary epilepsy- if having brain lesions due to some diseases
In temporal sclerosis, etiology of brain lesion is not clear. Patient have frequent CPS that's why label as focal epilepsy
@learningpediatrics5347 mam can brain structural lesion be taken as provoking factor?
Or provoking factor should always be acute thing as mentioned in video....
Thank you mam
Thank you maam ❤️...next do it on poisioning please
Welcome
Thank u so much , keep going
Can I have it as pdf , please !
Welcome

Welcome Preeti,

Mam can i have febrile seizure at 12 year age it was simple febrile seizure
At 12 years, it's not febrile seizure.
Seizure threshold decrease with fever so we can say seizure precipitated by fever but etiology is not fever.
Eg. If patient is a known case of epilepsy, his/her seizure threshold will decrease with fever so can have episode of seizure
@@learningpediatrics5347 then mam as i had seizure due to fever and according to google it us provoked seizure btw is it epilepsy i had it inly once
Doctor gave me levutracetam 500 and i am taking from almost 1 year please say when can i stop these meducatiom of seuzure? Plz say:)
