- We take a detailed look at our infamous 1989 Supercharged Mazda MX-5 Miata, Mary. With a screaming M45 supercharger, matte pink paint and a huge front lip, it's pretty hard to miss. Especially when it's loaded with four Nankang AR-1s on the SkidNation tyre rack.

Is 200whp enough when I get my miata I'm going for 1.8 turbo aiming around 310+whp
Entertaining video - loads of info in short space of time! When you say "blew up" the mk2.5, what boost/power did you shoot for on the stock block? More videos please ¦:¬)
The last time it went on the dyno it put down about 218bhp at the wheels. But I then changed the boost reference from pre to post-intercooler and even though I kept reducing the duty cycle it kept hitting boost cut, which unfortunately killed the engine on an overtake on the road on a really cold morning :(
Hey guys hope your well.. I've gone and bent the front of my mk2.5 1.8 supercharger from a Mercedes looked like standard radiator with and extra fan.. can I move the full supercharger rig over with everything else just bolt on and go.. central scotland. Thanks in advance
Are you going to put a rotrex kit for sale? How will the gearbox and diff stand 300 whp? I'd love that setup
We sure will! The Rotrex will make less torque than a turbo so the gearbox and diff will be OK

Short nose
We'll have the pulley from the engine soon so we can design one around the short nose. I'd estimate around 8 weeks until they're on the shelf.
Single throttle setup will make it considerably louder??
Single throttle post supercharger is loud even at cruise. A second throttle pre-charger both quietens it down and improves light load throttle response.
How do you find the hs51 compare to say ps3s?
I've not done a direct comparison, but the PS3 is a good tyre

lol stock is300 barley makes 220 and is a boat compared to this
No not really .ud be surprized....a chaser or is300 or supra yes but the is300 is light and nimble.. can get car 2 2500 lbs if wanted...but even at stock u can feel weight difference from my other cars with 2jz motors...and iv killed so mx5 on track days that were boosted...205 tires not same as 255 or 275 all way around
I love the engine work but I do not get the ‘scapyard look’ the car looks awful I’d be embarrassed to own that. It doesn’t take much to do your own bodywork and maintain a nice looking car.
This car would have been better off being restored, the very early cars are getting very desirable. What a waste.
That car not worth bragging about...the supercharger cost more than my car....is300 long tube headers no cat manual trans bigger rad bc had it and na makes more power and got 4 doors...u weigh 600 less..but still got same track times and can run 275 all way around if want...205 is sad
