Nice to see new mx5 content! Bought my NB 1.8 to use as a donor for a boosted kit car build, but kinda enjoying it as is! What supercharger do you guys recommend?
I like your channel, ok it has been up here for quite some time but then i only recently bought myself a MX5 (nc though) but i love watching you guys work on "Mary". You def could have saved yourself some work with shorter bolts for these rails though... And if you ever need to take m off and re-install the will be more difficult to fit them in the nuts.. but maybe by then you have some new ones any way 8X20 mm should work.. Any way i will def be watching more of your vids
The best part is when you bottom out on the road after you got them installed, you'll get tons of sparks, people follow me on a touge all gives me credit for the spark show lol
I’ve always wondered if rust would be a worry when fitting these rails.. especially in the uk. Would the water get trapped between the rails and chassis and rot everything away?
Nice job. I went for the GC Fab door bars instead of frame rails (as I didn't fancy all those holes in the underside of my Eunos). I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on whether frame rails or door bars make a bigger difference to body stiffness. Are you going for door bars too? Great video as always ¦:¬D
The majority of our cars have both frame rails and door bars, so we'll be able to compare the differences that door bars make. I did put door bars in a mk2 I had but removed them as I didn't like how they didn't work with the door cars nor my passenger's bucket seat so didn't get chance to really test them. I have since changed seats so might see how a set fits. Will keep you updated!
I don't get the argument against 4 points yes the 4 point harnesses you have are dangerous but the takate and schroth harnesses are fine with their anti submarining tech. Getting 6 point harnesses is only gonna make the situation worse if you get into an accident unless you drive around with a hans device all the time.
Scissor jack to hold the rail up works a treat for all us driveway mechanics!
Top tip! A trolley jack would do the trick too
They have carpets that are like paper!!! 😂😂😂 i love watching you guys. You guys are hilarious.
The carpets are so thin 😅
Good work guys. Reminds me of mighty car mods lol
We've watched a LOT of MCM in our time 😁
Great work Buddy!
Thanks Jason
I am SO buying rails for my 1990 mx5.
I really need to do this to my build.

Thanks Chris, the Mini M45/Eaton is great on the road and occasional track use.

It's an F1 car yo

yes, i'd be inclined to fill the new cavity, with something other than the mud that will.
@@tomodonoghue3309 I like the way you phrased that lol 😂
@@ethaniel_tweedy You nominating me for a Nobel in Literature? :)
U need more subscribers! So I'm one now! Yay Miata, lol

Do the frame Rails cause problems with the MOT people, who may not have seen them before.
Would these fit over an S13 frame rail? I wonder
Wonder if these will fit an FC3S
Seeing everyone work on their mx5’s is painful when you aren’t able to do the same :(
😭 Oh no, hope you can soon Andrew
would the frame rails be as good as seam welding a miata?
What rollbar is that? I need one, badly!
What did the eyes screw into ? As you only drilled a hole 🤷🏻♂️
There is a threaded spreader plate on the other side of the rail.

how does the car handle now, with the rails on?
It feels great!
the bolts by the fuel/brake-lines.. why not but the bolts upside-down.. ? br, //Captain-heinsight :D
The ends would all need grinding flush in the cabin which would be an even bigger job, else they would all poke through the carpet
@@BOFIRacingTV Alright, well then it might be better to cut like you did, under.. fuel-lines and all still better..
You mangle and weaken the original rails. Then you bolt on some piece of metal. Can anyone with an engineering degree explain if this makes any sense?
It's fiiine
The best way to do this is by removing stock frame rails and welding in new ones made of thicker steel.
We've seen that done, it's cool
