Hehehehehe I did it with 1bc, but can’t prove above because I can’t reach there yet. I just keep dying to dumb mistakes.
You learn to get used to it. By 2 BC onwards that's pretty much every run lol.
I normally have a 50/50 chance to get them both on 4BC, but most times I just go for the 30 kills.
That's why I don't get angry when I die in this game.
Are you for real? I get absolutely frustrated, but I keep coming back to it, it's great.

This track is the essence of the game, it makes you want to get back to it, you'll always listen to it in a new run regardless of the route you take.
Relax .. they only play it for the first five minutes of the game

"There's a failed kingdom out on the sea. Its shores crawl with the undead; helpless victims of a plague left unchecked by the Island's tyrannical king. On a windy day, one can smell the decay and rot wafting from the island, and something... sickly and... earth-y.
No one sets foot on the island. The ones who do never return. Yet sailors say that currents guide them towards it, almost as if sucking them in. Those who have gotten close enough to the island to see it reported a horrible stench like no other. More peculiar however is that the island looks near perfect. No crumbling walls nor fallen buildings, and the clocktower in the distance still keeps time.
What's more, there are tales of a sole revenant on the island. Every three days, it rises and carves a path of blood through the island. No one knows why it does it, or even if it has a reason.
What proof of this do I have? I cannot provide any, other than my own account of seeing this... thing. I was passing by the island, closer than anyone should when I saw It on the forgotten ramparts. Before it everything fell; nothing would block its path. As I watched, it turned to look out over the sea, and noticed me, and...

The "oh" and "ahhh" gives such a powerful feeling when playing the game ... Truly a masterpiece
Using them as risers in the music makes some parts feel sooooo epic

If the entire game could have a moral, it says to us "don't ever stop. Die, and retry !". This is the same for real life. Despite difficulties and failures, your get back again and again until you improve yourself to finally reach your accomplishment. This is why I love this song and the game too.

The best part about this theme, is that this is the kind of theme you hear during the end of a game. this is the smooth, calming-yet-invigorating final track. the drums, the almost windy-valley essence to the song, the flowing vocal sounds, the guitar...it all gives the picture of "this is it, your final stretch. dont give up, you're almost there.."
all of that...yet this is the first damn zone in the game.
another thing , the high peak castle theme sounds really similar to this theme with different instruments.
Today, I've tried this awesome game, and I was expected to be frustrated by lots of restarts, but instead, when this theme sounds, I only can think "It's time to hunt!"
It's the perfect music for the game, great job!

I never have been a fan of Metroidvania-esque games. But Dead Cells? Dead Cells is something else. Dead Cells will take hundreds-if not thousands of my hours left on this Earth.
it's not as if you are going to finish the game with hundreds of hours on this game. You have any idea how hard this game is?
@@exot1ccoconut Well, 5BSC is reaally hard, but 0bc now is very much compared to the rest of "mainstream" rogue-likes/lites on the market. Mastering it will take hundreds of hours, but that's the entire point of such games. There's always a challenge.
Dead Cells combat is some of the most fun to master in any game I've played. I'm glad they went with a generous parry window (almost half a second) making it actually a strong option once you master it. I also love how each weapon plays very differently from each other
I went from Dead Cells to Hollow Knight and HK's combat was especially at the start not as fun as Dead Cells. HK really starts to shine when you get all the abilities and encounter the later bosses though.

I don't know if you're the composer of this song, but it's a great song. I think you contributed a lot to this game. Whenever I faced a miserable death in the game, I listened to this song and got motivated again. It's a great and lovely song. Thank you. - A Korean gamer.

I don't think this track is supposed to give a "don't give up! you can do it!" vibe. I'm getting more of a "you know what you have to do, so go do it already" vibe. Very motivational in a far different way than the corniness of the former.
Coming back to this comment more than a year after I posted it I think I was spot on, but the best part of this song to me now is that the climax of the song hits pretty much exactly as you would typically enter a door to the next zone, giving you a perfect send-off into the rest of the game. This is probably the best first level out of any roguelike I've played and this song is more than half the reason.
3:12 is hauntingly beautiful. And in total a great track. Many AA/AAA-titles can't hold a candle to it.
Imagine having a Dead Cells animated series with this ost as the intro theme…😌🥹

A tip for beginners:
Learn to parry. Parrying is extremely important. Of course, every attack can be dodge rolled through, but parrying will make your life much easier.
On the first few difficulty settings, you can get by without this skill, but the amount of enemies on higher difficulties does make dodge rolling a little less viable.
This has quickly become my favorite track in the game. Yes, it's because I die a lot and therefore get to hear it the most, but hey, death ain't so bad when you get treated to this music afterward.

@@enanablanca292 If you know how to reflex dodge atleast a little bit you'll be fine most of the time, the biggest problem is probably the 4th cell.

Gem of a soundtrack. Fits the theme perfectly, inspires the player and never gets old. This is the reason why I keep coming back to fight after I die every single time.

This soundtrack is the most underrated within the game... but its the one that makes you feel like you are beginning a great journey even though its not your first play...
and so the loop continues....
First play or not this theme makes you want to go back and kick more ass to whatever took you out.

Playing this in the background for basically anything makes what you're doing feel so much more intense
This song is both great and sorrowful at the same time illustrating how everything that was good about a kingdom and its people went to hell and now out of that hell a"Fallen One" has risen to seek answers, face near impossible odds in the form of hazards and undead abominations due to an outbreak of a disease which has no cure. Truly a blessing for an android phone user like me to enjoy such masterpiece.

Having a song this fucking empowering as the music for the _first level_ was an absolutely genius decision on MT's part. It's the reason I never get pissed off when I lose a run, because this track never fails to make me want to come back out swinging twice as hard.

This is such a great track !
There is something about this theme that just, well, makes you feel it’s the core of the game. It was well made, and it kinda sounds like your trying to rush yourself to beat the level.
No matter what build, no matter what scenario, it always feels good when your movement and your attacks sync with the beat
This was the OG song before the bad seed DLC
It kinda reminds me "Ozar Midrashim" from Soul Reaver. It has almost the same vibe: a revenant risen from the dead makes it's way through the withering world, infuriated and determined to put an end to this vicious cycle.
