I used to work at a shelter and we have had newborn kittens abandoned with their umbilical cords still attached. Thankfully they survived and were adopted. This is exactly why all our animals have to be spayed or neutered before being adopted out

Been there. My GSD began eating her puppies after she gave birth (I had never heard of such a thing with dogs but according to the vet, it happens a lot.). So I had to remove them from her and my husband and I bottle-fed them and cared for them until they were old enough to be adopted. She had 12 babies, killed 4, and we rescued the remaining 8. It wasn't easy, but it is something I will never forget...amazing experience. God is good.
@@bull6599 Funny, I thought only humans did things like that. I was horrified. And it took a little while for me to warm up to her again after that. She is a good dog though, very affectionate and a great watchdog.

I had a female GSD as a child. She did the same. Birthed 10 and killed 3.
