Good relaxing video
When I use to catch them back in the 70's in the glades it was a simple process. Take a bamboo pole with ten feet of line a hook and a red piece of felt on the hook. Dangle it on front of the frog and you got him.

When I was a kid, we had a soft shell almost all the time, when one would get bigger, we would turn it loose and find a new one. We had a turtle bowl with a spiral "island" in the middle for them to climb up on. I got one for our kids when they were young, and they had no interest, so we took it back where we got it.

I grew up being the turtle and creepy crawly guy and can honestly say I didn't know cooter was slang for something else until like 3 years ago. I found out when I caught a giant river cooter and my friend wouldn't stop laughing at me while I showed it to her.
