This is a much better performance, probably because it's in the studio, as Whitney's was. I'm interested in your take on it.

It’s all very interesting and the tips are awesome. I wonder if Angelina ever sees reactions like this which are potentially really helpful. I am excited to go to her concert on Sept 22, 2023 in New Hampshire!
Loved this reaction❤ thank you so much. You have an amazing voice also.😊. I can read all 600+ comments so this has probably been already said. But she performed this song twice back to back with 62 seconds between only. I know because i was there and recorded the whole event. She is truly an amazing artist and person. Thanks again for a great reaction 😊
What you don't understand this is the second time in a row she sang this. The sound recording engineere had a problem with the recording and asked Angelina to sing it again.
I believe that she performed at this event literally hours after arriving from LA. First she performed her cover of "BohRap" then at the end of the program, despite concerns that it might rain, she came back out in that beautiful evening gown and sang "I Have Nothing" gloriously, TWICE, because the organizers weren't sure they captured the first take. Then, shortly after arriving back in LA, she uploaded a studio version that for sound quality and just her being her is even better yet. All of these are easy to find. She opened her live shows with a new cover, "Mt Everest". I find it stunning. Here's a listenable link from Rusty: ruclips.net/video/DYVxnY06BWw/видео.html

i dont think angelina cared about whether she just got off a plane from L A she wanted to sing here very badly as this is the last year that this festival will happen and angelina has been a regular performer here since just shortly after winning norways got talent .
She is making this live performance more of a dramatic event for the audience. all of the changes you hear are her making it more and more her own. She is completely a vision of loveliness on this stage. She often invited to these concerts and Jazz festivals. If you are having a Jazz festival, you are DEFINITELY inviting this person.
Besides the fatigue,, international travel and weather, she is also only 16 years old here. Her voice is not done maturing and not in her prime. I am so excited to be alive in her time and be able to experience whatever comes next. 💖👣👑
I like that she's pushing at her limits. She's still growing and without those challenges she won't become the phenomenon that she wants to be - and will be! Thank you for pointing out those details. She'll probably be the first to agree, but hey, a live performance is a once-only event. It was what it was (as they say) and you move on and do it even better next time. Live concerts really build the artist!
Thanks for granting my wish, even if it was backwards in time :-) I now remember watching this video long ago, because you're the one who pointed out that Angelina does this cover three semitones lower. Sorry for not remembering that you had done this cover already. And I love how you get excited and out the little extra things that Angelina adds :-) I also appreciate that you do honestly speak your mind about little parts here and there that are not what you hoped. I hadn't even noticed those little things but that's mainly because she puts me in a trance every time she sings and I just notice the good parts :-) but revisiting the song again helps me see the little oddities. But that's fine because it helps me to appreciate and enjoy watching her growth from year to year. Thanks for helping us see more nuances. And thanks again for reminding me of this reaction so that I could watch it again with you as the reactor. :-)
Hi Tara! It's good to see you react to Angelina. The thing that amazes me is she is only 16. Whitney was 28. I wonder how Angelina will sound in 12 years. Thanks for the reaction.
You have only checked out a couple of Angelina's songs, so you may not recognize that some of the 'faults' you pointed out are actually some of Angelina's signatures... that "couple beats early" you pointed out.... I think that is just standard jazz back-phrasing (just one of her unique signatures). Angelina doesn't just cover a song, she always re-imagines it in her own special ways. Lowering the key on this one I think was more of an artistic choice than anything else. This key is perfect for her voice. Not because it's 'easier', but because it fits her. If there is one thing Angelina excels at, it is authenticity. I think a lot of singers try too hard to impress, and it comes off unnatural. Angelina sings it how she feels it... and it makes it feel like she is singing "to you", not "at you". But I suppose if someone looks at what Angelina does using a "sing by numbers" perspective, there might be some things they don't get ;) You just have to remember that Angelina is not just a singer. She is an artist. She is not here to just do things the way they have always been done. She is here to re-write some of the rules.
I totally agree with you, Rusty, about the couple of beats comment ... plus she threw in the extra word 'but' there. Unfortunately, Tara likes to be a bit of an authoritarian.
@@ron4mac Nothing wrong with trying to find the faults when you are in Tara's position, but I think sometimes things can be seen as "faults" when in fact they are 100% intentional artistic choices. To analyze Angelina, one would need to study her massive library of work a bit first to understand her style. I think then it would be a little more obvious to Tara that Angelina is not just a talent show singer. She is a legend in the making. There's no critique needed... just let this young genius work her magic in whatever ways she envisions it.
And Tara had none of the context of this performance, and why should she. It was just a reaction to what was presented to her. She correctly revealed her own concerns with live events, and there plenty of factors involved in this presentation by Angelina. Some other people have already identified them. I would add that some of Whitney’s live versions would have produced similar criticisms.
If it was back phrasing, the orchestra was not ready for it. I side with Tara on this one. But guys, to expect live performances to be perfect, not to say the least, outside, is just unrealistic. Listen to Freddie Mercury, there are signs of fatigue and imprecise phrasings all the time in his live performances. People just don't think about it because they idolize him too much. You should compare her singing to Ariana Grande's version that she did in front of Obama. Angelina is superior in that respect. Whitney's version of this song is something else, simply because it is her song. However, Whitney songs are not Angelina's strongest trait. She has first and foremost a crooner voice, far superior in the jazz field. This is a different repertoire, and the belting technique is very different from crooning, by which it demands a very precise onset, and the ability to keep a very accurate and homogenic vowel placement. Far different from the character singing in jazz.
I don’t get the comparisons by people in the comments here. I’m no hater. But Whitney was known for her punchy, long, and powerful belts, her angelic head voice, and her amazing breath control. Angelina is a great singer, obviously. But to say that she’s better than Whitney, is a bit of a reach. Her singing style is waaay different. She breaks down her phrases and she doesn’t hold her notes as long as Whitney (if you really wanna compare her to Whitney?). This is the type of comparison that’s really unnecessary since both have different singing styles. She only happens to sing the same song! On another note, having that beautiful of a voice at that young of an age, I hope she’s equipped with the right production and marketing team cause she is a great vocalist!
The version Angelina Jordan does of this song that is in a video where she stands in a nice dress in a room with chandeliers hanging, is much better in my opinion and to me that version is better than the original.
Whitney singing will raise the hairs on my arms. It is a voice I have always felt is unmatched. Like a Jon Anderson or a Steve Perry. Just a lovely pitch no matter where they are on the scale.
What expert analysis! Your virtuoso breakdown is riveting. Quite impressive and with a wonderful singing voice yourself. I understand this performance was intended to be mixed for official release, but, upon review Angelina was unhappy with it. Perhaps for the same reasons you pointed out. Another version was recorded when she returned to LA which is accompanied by a breathtaking black & white video here on RUclips.
Very good honest analysis. You just identified everything from a vocal coach perspective. Aw back to the chair studio arrangement 😁👏. Love the multiculoured top, its so beautiful. It's really uplifting. 👌 Love yer gair down too. So many styles you can do with hair 🤔. Excellent Tara 😀👍💪💃💪
I really like and appreciate your analysis of this performance. But I love Angelina's perfect little imperfections when she sings live. A phenomenal performance is made even more amazing by realizing that there is no autotune involved. Just Angelina, singing whatever song she's performance from the very depth of her soul. It is mind-blowing that she's 16, on stage and on television, singing one of the most iconic songs ever sung, and stands there with poise and grace and delivers a strong performance. Strong, but with just enough little bumps and imperfect moments to remind us that she is not really an angel.
Angelina recorded this with a backing track when she was 13 and I believe she did it in the same key as Whitney. While she did hit every note beautifully, you could tell it was a strain. She sings it much better here because the key is more in her comfort zone, as she's older and her voice is more confident.😎
I am not an expert but I think Whitney had plenty power on low an high notes as well. Power on the entire scale. Not many singer have this ability and therefore most of the interpretations lacking the intensity what Whitney delivered.
I like all of your AJ reactions, which I have watched more than once. One thing (among others) that makes your reactions more than worthwhile is your honesty. You don't play the game of only noting the positive, but rather call 'em as you see 'em. And then you confirm you know that of which you speak (if there were any doubt) by demonstrating with your own formidable voice and vocal skills. And yet you continue to sing Angelina's praises. Hard to beat that.
I absolutely love both very much, the 9 year old I put a spell on you and this, both are Angelina Jordan, she has it all; but if I had to choose, I would choose I have nothing; her singing this song just reaches deep into the heart of your soul 😊
Great reaction. I love Angelina, worship her. So many of her performances are perfectly perfect. Absolutely Perfect. But not all of them and this one is not perfect. The newest one in the studio in black and white is much better, nearly flawless. But I think the criticism in this reaction is reasonable.
They made her do it two times, back to back because of a audio recording problem. I think she was a bit fatigued by the second take. Its a bear of a song to cover much less twice in a row.
Thank you tara for this wonderful reaction to angelina. For me is angelina the goddess of voice and all her performances in july in norway ...so amazing good, live with band with and all this with 16years, she is so good since she is a little little kid 👑♥️🌹🌟
Angelina is incredible, This girl is also fantastic, 伊卉儿Katty , She has the voice of an Angel. I just made a RUclips channel for her. Why not give her a reaction?
Hi Tara if you get a chance would love to see your reaction to another Angelina Jordan song she wrote for her grandad who passed I believe, it’s called A million miles. Also I’d be intrigued to see your reaction to her singing as a very young child she sings I put a spell on you it’s quite haunting really. Love your videos beautiful happy and positive keep doing what you do Steve from the Uk 🙏❤️
The key thing makes sense, as there was an old video of her singing the same song in the original key and she was struggling a bit to reach the high notes towards the end where the key changes, even though she did.
dont anyone make the mistake of comparing this young lady to Whitney Houston....because this song does nothing but amplify her shortcomings....the song is to big for her....maybe it wont be in a few years...but...it is today
Appreciate the reaction....have heard the whole "key" thing many many times from other reactors and coaches as well. Can we just say she is honoring one of her idols with a tribute to her, not trying to be Whitney, 1000's have done that already, she is Angelina Jordan. Want to hear the correct "Key" then listen to Whitney's original or those that try to mimic her please. Thank you for your second reaction to Angelina.
My sentiment exactly,if you want to listen to Whitney, listen to Whitney. I think Angelina makes it sound more personal, she's actually giving tribute to Whitney.
I think she actually grew in the song.. She might not be so used singing these types of songs yet. It felt like she was a bit short on breath at the longer notes at the start and also had some sharp notes ... overall just amazing
I prefer Whitney’s, her way of singing is seamless. There’s a warmth to her tone and emotionality to her voice that can be felt. This version sounds nice, her voice reminds me of Joss Stone’s or Jessie J’s. However, it was a bit emotionally flat for me, and there were some choppy moments throughout.
Every time she brings tears in my eyes cause it is so beautiful. Angelina Jordan ASTAR (the name says it all), this young norwegian genius is imo the best singer on the planet! I am 69 y old and have never heard a singer like her in my whole life.
This is the second time she sang this within 30 seconds. The sponsor of the show had tech difficulties so they ask her if she could sing it again, and of course she did.
Angelina had to sing this song twice with very little pause between each performance. The reason was that there was a glitch with the TV recording on the first performance. So this was the second performance. In addition it was quite windy in the town Halden that day. So Angelina constantly struggled with getting her hair in her eyes and mouth. It couldn't be easy for her to recharge her batteries again for this song so soon after she gave it all in her first performance. No wonder she got a bit fatigued at the end. I guess every singer can tell what a distraction it is having to deal with you hair getting in the way. This was a live performance where every minute mistake you make is exposed. So I think Angelina did great. Yesterday she released her studio version of "I Have Nothing" and it's flawless. It's the only version I've heard that can compare in quality to Whitney Houston's original studio version.
She's been at this for a long time now, singing 2 songs in a row shouldn't make her so fatigued. The hair thing was a mistake on her stylists part and because it distracted her so much it was also distracting for me to watch :S
@@HelTra91 That's true, but I Have Nothing is extra demanding since you have to helt a lot. She had a long break between Bohemian Rhapsody and I Have Nothing. I was at her concert July 1st and she made 18 performances without a break. Very impressive. However, I noticed some change in her voice after some songs. I can't recall she drank anything during the concert and wonder if that can affect the voice.
Why is no one commenting that this was her second time singing this in as many minutes because of the technical issue first time? That just MIGHT account for some fatigue performing this sing especially.
I am a huge Fan of Angelina's, but I feel that this is not what she should be singing... nor do I think that this performance was her best work either. She is an amazing gift and an amazing musician, but this material is not a hood fit for her voice and strengths . I know she can sing anything and pull it of, but when she gets into the jazz classics and her originals she is untouchable. Countless of mind blowing performances. You need to check out "i,m still holding out for you, which she performed at the age of 10 I believe.. It is truly stunning. All this is just my humble opinion, and is just an observation.
You’re right. I like fans like you that keep it real. It’s not really her style. Even though she did it better than she did six years ago which was a bit of a straining mess toward the end, and I know she’s an incredible singer, but she did it much better this time. That said, this is not her strength, this style.
I love when she stays in her lower register and completely makes songs her own. If she brought the key down, used her head voice in the higher notes like she always does in her singing, and belches once or twice she would be perfect. It would’ve been more stunning. That way she wouldn’t sound like she’s struggling or yelling the higher notes the whole time. Her voice is so elegant when she stays deep. It’s beautiful!! Now, to be truly honest, I’m not really a fan of singers doing the waa waa waa with their voice. Especially on this song. It wasn’t her greatest but still her voice is stunning
Enjoyed your reaction and analysis, Tara. Always appreciate your vocal coach hat: supportive but you point things out as you see them. You were my first favourite vocal coach channel on RUclips. A strong performance of a difficult song! Her voice stull sounds more mature than she looks. How does she do that? I didn't realize her voice was this low naturally! It wasn't a perfect performance in every respect - live singing never completely is. A few stray pitches and that timing miss (it seemed unintentional), but I also enjoy her use of vocal fry, her intentional playing with time at a couple of points which was so jazzy, and her runs and general feel as an artist. I wish her a long and storied career and continual improvement. Every singer needs to keep working on their craft - even child prodigies.
Why is everyone telling Tara to react to the studio version? The point of reacting to the live version is to understand the real artist’s sound and technique, not the glossy overproduced version in the studio where you get as many retakes and sound enhancements as you want. Tara reacted to studio versions during Covid when no one was doing live performances, but she always prefers the live performances. It doesn’t matter that this was the “second performance” either, this is the one that was televised. Sometimes as a performer you have to do another take, and the performer needs to be prepared for that. Tara is critiquing the live performance so she can talk about what it takes to be a great singer and LIVE performer. Who wants to go to see a singer live and then walk away saying, “hm, I think I prefer the studio version.”
Maybe because Tara compared Angelina's live version to Whitney's glossy overproduced version in the studio where you get as many retakes and sound enhancements as you want.
@@matthiasmuer5957 Ok, sure. The studio version is the one that everyone knows though, and, just so you know, Tara has critiqued Whitney’s own imperfect live version of that song, too. The live versions are good for analyzing different vocal techniques and how to be a better live performer. That’s the point of the channel. I think this is a common misunderstanding.
Better than Whitney? Wrong question imho. Both, Whitney and Angelina did a masterful interpretation of this song written by David Foster and Linda Thompson. And while Whitney's musical background is R&B, Soul and Pop, Angelina's background is Jazz with Soul added. One was 29, the other is 16. The one was a highly produced studio version, the other live, and two times back to back, because wind was too hard for Norway TV at first take. Whitney was strong soprano, Angelina is strong alto voice. Therefore different keys, quite normal. Angelina often hangs behind or before the beat, maybe adapted from Billie Holiday. And yes, Angelina related to Whitney's performance, the Diva mode and so on. Showed her respect. That doesn't mean, that she intended to do it the same way, which anyway would be impossible because of the different voices and the different emotional background. Few days later Angelina dedicated this song to her Grandma, who is sick, and who she has a very strong relation to. So I take both interpretations as pieces of art on their own. No competition. It is about music. Your musical analysis I will not question. Very educational and aware of details. Well done!
Angelina is not yet anywhere the level of Whitney in her prime although quite likely at 16 Angelina is ahead of 16 year old Whitney. Angelina was a child prodigy although Whitney was immensely talented I doubt she was a child prodigy. Do a RUclips search of Whitney live at the AMA 1994 singing a medley which includes "I Have Nothing"......this is the standard Angelina should aim for in vocal performance. Breathtakingly sublime and regal......Whitney not so subtly hinting "fellas this is a league of its own".
Whitney had a special talent where she could sing in 3 different octaves with ease, and belt on top of it all. She was a true talent, and it's why her music can't be matched.
You asked where this was. It's in the city Halden in Norway (where I grew up) and at the beatiful Fredriksten Fortress, one of my favourite places to be in the summer. I find your reaction and comments to be on point, you're telling us what you're hearing and do it with respect, you acknowledge her talent and skills. That's more than you can say about some of the norwegian public. The TV channel posted about this performance on Facebook and I hope Angelina didn't read the comment section because the comments were awful, lots of people said she was better when she was younger, her style of music is wrong, her dress was horrible, she sounds like a crow etc.
Angelina Jordan, did a fantastic job with this song. This song has to be taken on in a different manner. it's a tough song to sing. It all depend on the artist at the time they sing a song no matter what song. depending on the day Inside venue outside venue. The feelings the emotions can effect there voice at that moment. As she matures and her voice developes you will see a huge difference.
I do not know much about the technicalities of music, however, I do think that comparing a soprano to an alto singer on the high note is like comparing a violin to a cello. What is the point? When I hear Whitney, I am in awe. When I hear Angelina, I am I tears. To paraphrase another reactor, ' This girl (AJ) sings from a place different than anybody else. The musicality is gashing out of her'. I listen to Angelina much more often any other singer simply because she makes beauty sounds that soothes the soul. Please do not compare Angelina to any other singers. This girl is unique.
Hello Tara! I love this song which is a sad song, but beautiful song if something can be sad and beautiful at the same time, then this song fits the category! I watched you not only sing this song, but also critique Whitney’s live version. You did an outstanding job with this critique and she did an outstanding job singing a difficult song to sing!
Angelina has a fantastic performance of Lauren Daigle's *You Say* that closed out her Christmas special, but it hasn't been officially released, I don't know why. It is very close to Lauren's version, but even a little more, shall we say, guttural. One channel put up a well-produced comparison video, alternating audio of the two singers, but there is a question of whether they should have done that when it wasn't officially released for wider distribution.
Thank you for the most honest review I've seen lately. I did notice most of what you heard, but would have no clue how to correct them. This performance is a huge step up from the one she did 3 years ago. In that performance, she started off about 1/2 note higher than Whitney, then had trouble at the end. Lesson learned... By the way, she performed this song with the same arrangement in Kurbadhagen on July 10th as the last song of 18 in a row - no intermission!
SHE IS SO AMAZING....... I will say as stunning as she looked.,,, the fixing of the lose pieces of hair probab;y were the most distracting....she fussed with them quite a bit. :o(
Be honest with you I’m glad she has sung it again because she was kind of straining toward the end of that first version she did years ago. She’s smart to go soft and gentle on some of those big notes toward the end. She’s such a talented singer and it’s great to see how much she has grown vocally and stylistically with the song. 👏👏👏👏👏👏😍👏👏👏👏👏👩🎤
Excellent analysis, Tara! Thank you for keeping it real. I notice some angels getting a little defensive, which there is absolutely no need for. This is a brilliant performance from Angelina (her second in ten minutes due to technical «TV reasons» that had nothing to do with her). Is it absolutely 100 % perfect? Of course not, as there is no such thing in a difficult live performance, where you make choices every split second…for minutes. So what does a real pro do? She covers the tiny mistakes so that almost no one notices (excepts herself and a few other pros). So yes, she was a bit early into the second chorus, but simply made up for it by stretching the phrase a few beats. Now, Angelina has excellent timing but often backphrases in her cool, jazzy way. That is a stylistic choice. She hardly ever jumps the gun though - but should it happen, she obviously knows what to do. She is a real pro, and the biggest vocal talent I have ever heard. She is also human, thank goodness!
Angelina Jordan is incredible and will become a big star But no one can sing better than Whitney for me Shes in another league Whitney sings to the audience in a way ive not seen before - but Sissy Houston was her mom 🤷♀️ I am actually a fan of Angelina! But Whitney is my idol ❤ Glad Angelina has supportive people around her 🙏 But for 16 this girl can really sing ❤❤❤

She is completely a vision of loveliness on this stage. She often invited to these concerts and Jazz festivals. If you are having a Jazz festival, you are DEFINITELY inviting this person.
Her fan club remains SIMPly marvelous
I think she lowered the song bc this was a singalong show, where the audience is supposed to sing along with the performer.
Angelina has just released a studio version of this which is totally delightful
Considering this is the second time she had to sing the song she did a wonderful job. With only about 1 minute in between and probably jet lag.
You want her to be Whitney, she is being Her. Once you understand it’s her interpretation that people love you won’t feel the need to critique her.
She is only 16 years old and already great. She will continue to grow as a singer .
Tara you are a great artist too!!! i love your power , your voice is fantastic!! Greatings from Argentina!
Thank u love!
Check Lara fabien either adagio or je suis malade or Carusso. Live in the late 90’s
I dont know if she is better than Whitney, but she´s really really good, maybe best woman contemporary singer ¡¡¡¡
Love your voice Tara an tour power
What expert analysis! Your virtuoso breakdown is riveting. Quite impressive and with a wonderful singing voice yourself.
I understand this performance was intended to be mixed for official release, but, upon review Angelina was unhappy with it. Perhaps for the same reasons you pointed out. Another version was recorded when she returned to LA which is accompanied by a breathtaking black & white video here on RUclips.
Thank u so much! I appreciate u ❤️
💖🌟🎶💛🎵
😍😍😍
Forget about Angelina, look how beautiful Tara is!
Awee. Thank u love ☺️
No one will ever be better than Whitney. No one!!!!
Blows my mind that there are people that can control their voice so well
You know what - she did good! Liking her rendition!
Do not insult Whitney by comparing her
Angelina recorded this with a backing track when she was 13 and I believe she did it in the same key as Whitney. While she did hit every note beautifully, you could tell it was a strain. She sings it much better here because the key is more in her comfort zone, as she's older and her voice is more confident.😎
Yes. As I understand it, Angelina is a contralto, while Whitney was a soprano.
You're lying. You start off lower than Whitney, and there's no treble support. Jordan is a good singer, but this song doesn't suit her.
@@dogwangkim9804 more like it’s out of her league - particularly compared to the original/Whitney
Extatly i was perfect at 13 but she was tired that night but even no body can coach angelina she is the master singer
Angelina Jordan... EMPRESS OF JAZZ. NUFF SAID
I am not an expert but I think Whitney had plenty power on low an high notes as well.
This was an honest reaction I think. You could tell Angelina was a bit tired in the end.
Tara your reaction is in detail loved it more power thanks
What a depth and richness in Angelinas voice! She's just getting better and better and better...!
Thank you tara for this wonderful reaction to angelina. For me is angelina the goddess of voice and all her performances in july in norway ...so amazing good, live with band with and all this with 16years, she is so good since she is a little little kid 👑♥️🌹🌟
Beautiful sung, but it is truly amazing how you honestly critique performers of music, but at the same time find the good points of a musical artist!
The place is a small town called Halden, and the show is in an old fortress town. we built it to take care of the sweeds ;-)
This song will leave you breathless regardless of it being singing in a lower or higher register.
Angelina is incredible, This girl is also fantastic, 伊卉儿Katty , She has the voice of an Angel. I just made a RUclips channel for her. Why not give her a reaction?
You catch everything lol I didn’t even notice she was early. Guess that’s why you’re the pro
Have you covered that song on tape somewhere??? If so PLEASE share it!!!! You got some pipes on you girl,.....SERIOUSLY!!!
Love your videos beautiful happy and positive keep doing what you do
Steve from the Uk 🙏❤️
Love too listen to vocals coach, jealous much 🤣🤣🤣 they wish they could sing like that.
JEALOUS??? Maybe just being honest and today, that is refreshing.
She just dropped the official one on her channel yesterday in the studio in black and white in the same dress and the same antique store in LA 🙏👍
First live performance in three years from Angelina. Check out her brand new studio version of this song: ruclips.net/video/iX0g99jN26U/видео.html
Tara, your reactions are pure gold, trully the best. So much knowledge out of this. Keep it up gurrrll !
Thank u so much love! I appreciate u ❤️
The key thing makes sense, as there was an old video of her singing the same song in the original key and she was struggling a bit to reach the high notes towards the end where the key changes, even though she did.
Love your reaction and analysis. ❤❤❤AJ.
dont anyone make the mistake of comparing this young lady to Whitney Houston....because this song does nothing but amplify her shortcomings....the song is to big for her....maybe it wont be in a few years...but...it is today
She has done very well singing in English. Lots of effort
she giving me JOSS STONE
Great reaction, and loved your vocal explaination
Tara, I am just discovering Lucy Thomas on RUclips. If you have not heard her yet, you must. She is incredible.
Brilliant analysis!
I think she actually grew in the song.. She might not be so used singing these types of songs yet. It felt like she was a bit short on breath at the longer notes at the start and also had some sharp notes ... overall just amazing
you know she had technical problems and that was the second time she sang that
I prefer Whitney’s, her way of singing is seamless. There’s a warmth to her tone and emotionality to her voice that can be felt.
This version sounds nice, her voice reminds me of Joss Stone’s or Jessie J’s. However, it was a bit emotionally flat for me, and there were some choppy moments throughout.
Nobody wants to hear Elvis sing in Whitney's tone. You sing in the key you have. I'm a musician myself! Some people can't see beyond their shoe tops.
You want to go there? It's a nice place. I know, I live there. 😁
Love, love, love her version. Check out her version of “ Suspicious Mind” it’s absolutely beautiful 😊
Every time she brings tears in my eyes cause it is so beautiful. Angelina Jordan ASTAR (the name says it all), this young norwegian genius is imo the best singer on the planet! I am 69 y old and have never heard a singer like her in my whole life.
Absolutely absolutely exactly Mr.Huse!!!
The greatest voice in Planet!!! Absolutely!!!!
This is the second time she sang this within 30 seconds. The sponsor of the show had tech difficulties so they ask her if she could sing it again, and of course she did.
Whitney could tear it apart 3 times in a row...... not criticizing her, but she is NOT better than Whitney.
Angelina Jordan is not trying Whitney Houston. That is your MISTAKE ... She is an independent Artist Brilliant Singer..
This was the second time in a row she had to sing this song. They were having technical problems.
This is in Norway also yes she had to sing this song twice so she's its not as strong as the first time she sang it
Amazing
Well done!
Excellent comment Marcus. 👍😉
@@peterhormell1511 Thank you. ☺
It's just clickbait, but it got me.
Ty. Well said, Markus, & I agree. Were my eyes not closing I’d’ve made the same points in my comment.🥹. 7/27/22
Enjoyed your reaction, I would be very interested to see you react to her recent cover of "Suspicious Minds".
wow I just googled her, n she's 16!!! it's sick!
I hear Whitney, I listen to Angelina.
It does sound better in the original key, though. You're right. More intensity and emotion. On some other songs, it might make less of a difference.
We are finally over the gold next step diamond then ruby diamond here we go
She sang this then the tv asked her to repeat it - sound balance or wind in her hair. So what you see hear is her singing it straight afterwards.
And smarter to sing it in comfortable key 😉❤️👏🏻👌🏻🙌
Hi Tara my name is Ryan I'm 14years old and I'm a singer and what I love about you is your vibrato and whistle register there so stunning.
A great reaction video, thx Tara
This is my town...
Angelina Jordan is incredible and will become a big star
But no one can sing better than Whitney for me
Shes in another league
Whitney sings to the audience in a way ive not seen before - but Sissy Houston was her mom 🤷♀️
I am actually a fan of Angelina!
But Whitney is my idol ❤
Glad Angelina has supportive people around her 🙏
But for 16 this girl can really sing ❤❤❤
That's a little insulting to Whitney Houston to say that it might be better than her version. She's not half a singer Whitney was
Once again, that pesky JJ troll...
