PFEIFFER BEACH: One of the Best Beaches in Big Sur, CA

In this video I drive the family south along highway one and visit Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur. This beach is famous for its purple sand and also for its large sea arch. We visited on a quiet Sunday morning and had the beach nearly to ourselves. This is a great family friend beach to visit if you are in the area. There are tide pools for the little ones and the beach itself it is quite expansive so you don't typically feel too crowded. The entrance can be hidden and it's best to search for it first on google maps so you don't miss it while driving along highway one. Parking can be limited especially later in the day and around sunset. Many people visit this beach to catch the sunset setting behind the sea arch, as this provides a unique photo opportunity.

I have a question at 1:21 there are a lot of places where you guys stopped to take a view. Are those rest stops? I would like to paint this beach but would like to be from a high point. :) if it’s possible that would be great

There are lots of spots to stop right off of highway one along the coast. The spot you're talking about is next to Rock Creek Bridge and is probably one of my favorites. Everyone goes to Bixby Bridge but Rock Creek is just as beautiful. Enjoy! ✌
