I know many people would prefer sunshine (especially in California). But I am LOVING the misty whimsical beauty of the fog and marine layer on your trip. It looks so beautiful! I am glad you got a good day of sun though too. 👍🏻😁 Point Lobos is a stunning location and I love the hikes there!
I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip. Sounds like a kind of 2nd Honeymoon! 🥰 I also wanted to let you know that after watching the packing video that you made for this trip, I finally ordered some items from Quince. I ordered the leather purse that you got and a sweater, a shirt, and a blazer. I will let you know if I like everything when I get the order. I always enjoy watching your videos. I think you and Riley are wonderful parents and that you are raising two beautiful children. Thanks for sharing!
We love Carmel and go almost every year for our Anniversary. We are lucky that it is only an hour drive from our home in the Bay Area. I don’t take for granted the beauty of our area of the US. Than you for sharing your trip ❤
girl after my own heart! california (and the west coast in general really) truly has my heart. i leave a piece of my soul there every time i visit. you’re just scratching the surface! keep traveling (and sharing with us) 😁
I was born and raised there…lived there until I was 21. It’s interesting to see an outside perspective from someone who has never been there! Whenever I’m back in the area, I like to play tourist and go to many of the spots you did! Cannery Row (Ghirardelli sundae’s are a must-do), Lover’s Point, and Carmel are places I always make a point to visit.
Blair, I absolutely loved today’s video! I love traveling, but I’ve never been to the Monterey-Carmel area. Oh my goodness, you make me want to stay at the resort you and Riley stayed! You were heavily influencing me this morning!😄
What a dreamy trip! I am so glad you got to see so much. We love love loved Carmel and the whole California Coast. Last year we did a trip that started with Lassen Volcanic National Park, then Redwood (also mystical, you would LOVE!), San Francisco, Big Sur/Carmel, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, Yosemite and finally Lake Tahoe. And Carmel was my favorite of all. We actually ate at Clint Eastwood's restaurant! We stayed at a place called Carmel Country Inn which was not as expensive as yours sounds but was good for our family. Plus, they had a famous Inn kitty cat! I recommend it to anyone reading. When the kids get a bit older, the aquarium will be perfect. It was such a highlight for all of us. I loved hearing about the Winchester house. I had never heard of it, what a haunting story and home. Thanks for sharing!
Today's vlog was EXCELLENT. I was literally sitting here in my work chair, bouncing up and down with glee, watching you visit some of my fav spots in Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey!!! Doesn't look like you caught a sunset, down at Carmel Beach, at the end of Ocean Dr. I guarantee you, that would have been the decadent icing on the cake for your trip! So glad you enjoyed our neck of the woods. Come back soon. 🥰🌊🌊
OMG! So funny that you said that about Moody Mansion. I actually had my wedding photos done there about 25 years ago and it’s so gorgeous. So many places to take beautiful photos there. What a small world! ❤
Oh my gosh WHAT A DREAM. I would've loved to take photos there. I feel like some kind of weird connection to the place, it's so special. I wanna see your photos!!!
This trip sounds amazing. I'm so glad you got to enjoy some time away. The cake and tea service combined with a stunning hike that morning would be my ideal day too!
Omg - wishlist now! I loved watching this video and was so happy you guys had such an amazing time! That was super super fun to watch. Thanks so much for sharing!!
What a lovely looking trip!!!!! So beautiful, and looks like you found a lot of great spots. One of my most fond childhood memories was a trip to Monterey with my family! ❤
The trips looks amazing, Carmel and this area has been on my bucket list since my mother went with her sisters many years ago. Thank you for posting this video(:
Yaaaaaay can’t wait to watch and hope you had an amazing time 😃 it’s lovely to watch something a little more light hearted while the news is (rightly so) all about storm Milton 😃😃🥰🥰xxxx
You should watch the movie Play Misty for me. Clint Eastwood , Jessica Walter and Donna Mills. It was all filmed in Carmel. Plus a great film from 1971.
Ahhh Yes, you fell in love with the Le Labo soap line! Rose 31 (does not smell like roses lol) is my go to scent from Le Labo, you should definitely check it out!
What a wonderful trip!! We spent some time in the mountains at Big Bear before going to Disneyland this spring, and have a list of places in CA we want to check out next time. Need to add Carmel to that list!! Are we talking Grand Floridian prices for this hotel? I need to prep my bank account 😂
Hey Blair just wanted to add a comment about the egg intolerance. Has this been happening your entire life? This sounds similar to my child and you might have a gastrointestinal allergy known as FPIES. It’s basically an intolerance to any type of food but egg is an extremely common one and the baked/not baked is due to changes in the protein structure (I think). This may not be applicable to you but at least it might offer an explanation or a term to research further!
Thank you so much for sharing! It started up after my second baby and has stuck around ever since. I used to eat eggs every morning! I will definitely do some research.

I agree! We get tons of sunshine in Texas so the moody weather was actually really cozy and refreshing 🥰☁️🌲🌊

Carmel is beautiful ! I won a trip there in 2011. Stayed at the Bernardus Lodge & Spa, it’s also a winery. It was a trip I’ll never forget.

Monterey is my hometown! Born and raised there, glad you enjoyed it!
We went there as part of our honeymoon in 2013. Long flights from Scotland but so worth it! This brought back some lovely memories ❤
What a cool trip! I bet that was wonderful. It’s such a romantic place ❤

So wonderful! If you come to us in California, you should visit the Santa Cruz area, particularly Capitola. That’s our family’s vacation spot.
I will add it to my growing list of places in CA I’d like to visit. Such a beautiful state 😍
Yaaaaaay can’t wait to watch and hope you had an amazing time 😃 it’s lovely to watch something a little more light hearted while the news is (rightly so) all about storm Milton 😃😃🥰🥰xxxx
