Your cinematography in this one is epic. Love your intro with the seagull shaking its head and the Kona cam running on the beach. You can tell a lot of time went into making this. Also, the acai bowl looked delicious!
Absolutely spectacular!!! California is such a beautiful state!! There is no doubt of all of it (the cities, mountains, desert and coast)--the coast is the best by far!! Thanks for your super fun video of this part of the Golden State!!
I can truly go on & on about how much i love A+K and their personalities and filming etc but i truly appreciate that they include how they cook and stay healthy on the road. That’s so important to me as a traveller/trucker to get ideas on what i could be doing.
We try! Maybe not this video with the Mac n cheese 😂 but we do enjoy showing what we cook occasionally because that’s how we eat most of the time. Thanks for being a trucker! That’s an important job!
I love you guys so much. Y'all are living my dream for me. Hopefully, one day, I can find myself going down the same path of endless travel like you guys are. Your videos bring me a lot of hope and get me brainstorming on how to get out of my mind a bit and explore. I actually found your videos because you guys had visited Glacier and posted all about it! I'm going this July and I'm am THRILLED! Looking forward to the next videos. You guys are livin life to the fullest :)
We’re glad we can inspire and we hope you can do more traveling! You’re going to love Glacier! It’s still our favorite national parks! Thanks for watching! ❤️
Great video guys! My (Matt’s) parents will be making this drive (North to South) next week so I made sure they watched and took notes! Lol… Keep it up and safe travels!
My favorite drive of all time!!! I've done the entire CA coast. You guys killed this one! The shots, the music, the journey. You make it all look so effortless and fun even though I know it's not all fun and games. Thanks for taking us along with ya'll:)
I’m getting married here in October. We live in the SLO area and every time I visit I’m blown away from the views. Thank you for capturing the area so beautifully 🥰
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I so appreciate all the time and effort you put in to taking us along with you on your adventures. Beautiful scenery! Love the new “Kona cam”. She is livin’ her best life 😎
Big Sur is the most beautiful spot I’ve seen in the country so I was really excited to see your adventures there. We’re heading to Maine soon and I’m excited to see how the beauty of the two places might compare. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
One of my favorite places in the world, fortunate to live close enough to visit often. FYI, at Garrapata, if you hit the north end of the beach, there’s a little ‘valley’ of Calla Lillies; it’s gotten pretty big over the years. Pfeiffer Beach is semi-famous for an arch in the ocean, and sunset beams through for a period around the winter solstice. Also has purple sand that sometimes washes out of the hillsides. Then there’s Point Lobos in Carmel, which is a really popular place to walk/hike with great views. You may have been to some or all of these spots in past visits, but figured I'd mention them just in case.
Pfeiffer Beach was my favorite spot there! I went twice, once in the morning, and once at sunset, and while I think sunset time was my favorite, the morning was great to because I had the place to myself. It costs 10 bucks to get in, but it is worth every penny!!!
Knew this one was coming eventually, glad you got to see one of the best spot in CA. Put the lost coast trail on your list, one of the most magical backpacking trip I’ve ever done. Though the van wouldn’t like the roads in those parts
Congratulations for producing an incredibly beautiful vlog of Big Sur. Your photography is among the most stunning and dramatic that I have ever seen, and I grew up not too far away, so I am very familiar with the area. Looking forward to all of your episodes on your way to Alaska with the always upbeat great comments, endearing shots of Kona and again your magical superlative photography. Safe travels and thanks again for taking us along!
I drove Big Sur a few years ago in the rain but didn’t have time for more than quick stops. I’m so glad you took us to some of these places for longer.
Had to watch this one twice it was so good… Amazing footage and awesome music choices… The Kona cam should now be a staple of every A+ K video going forward… I think this is your best video you guys have ever done! Bravo
Hello friends! Really enjoying your amazing drive up north from San Diego, thru Joshua Tree and Death Valley, then up the coast. Absolutely spectacular views throughout your journey. I lived in southern California on 3 separate occasions in my career, had friends in Ventura and drove the PCH several times. Thanks so much for all of the great memories! Wishing you safe travel!!!
So close And yet you’re too far!!!!Indeed Big Sur is such a great place !I literally admire every single videos episodes you have!Enjoy the rest of your Golden State Adventures!!!!
Such beautiful places! :) I can't believe you guys don't have 500k subscribers, let alone 100k! Your videos are so fun, informative, and wonderfully filmed! An inspiration for my budding travel channel. Thanks for taking us along on your journey! :)
As always you guys know how to show off the best of the area you are visiting. We were really excited to see how you would show off this magical place. The central coast of California has been home our entire lives, and it is always great to see how other people see it. Keep up the great work on showing off the amazing places you visit, and sharing great information too. Travel safe.
You guys are the most fun and articulate couple doing the van life vlog thing on RUclips. The wife definitely very funny and enthusiastic. Now I am curious what you guys did before these videos. Video editing skill is very good too.
This area is so gorgeous…I couldn’t stop saying how pretty it was…I would love to see this part of the country! The Kona cam was so cool! Kona just loves the water and a ball…she makes me smile when I see her joy! My feet felt cold just watching you wade through the water! 🥶 Loved your dance moves at the end…made me smile big!
Spectacular scenery captured through the lens of your remarkable journey. The reviews of your travels have encouraged us to try areas and foods we would have never known about. Thank you from your Oregon buddy !
Stunning footage! Kudos to you guys for letting viewers know that there are often closures along Highway 1 and to check the status before you go. There have been some "challenges" navigating that region lately. Also, thank you for heeding the "no dogs allowed" portion of the beaches. Often, many dog owners simply do not. Thanks for this! 🥤
We are very big Leave No Trace followers and advocates as well as adhering to no dogs and dogs on leash. Big Sur is an amazing place! Thanks for watching!
See this instapot favorite!! Hope you like beans. Dry beans, no soak necessary are perfect. 1. Add 1 bag of dry black beans 2. Add about double volume of water 3. Add a fee cloves of garlic cut on half 4. Add a thick chopped onion 5. Add thick chopped potatoes (or wait until half way through and incorporate) 6. Add up to 3/4 cup of oil 7. Add a TBSP salt 8. Add 2 tsp of cumin 9. Add your preference pf red pepper flakes or cayenne 10. Set instapot for 50 minutes
So true about there being so much to see. After our Channel Islands stop, we drove up Big Sur as well and the only part we did that you guys did was McWay Falls. So cool seeing all of the other stops you made.
Instant pot tips: It’s normal when making pasta for it to spit water and steam on a quick release. Also, you can thin the cheese sauce out with any liquid. If you turn the instant pot on sauté while mixing the cheese in, it will melt faster.
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, Big Sur is definitely a must do drive. I'd love to do it again next time I'm in Cali. Absolutely AWESOME views! Great video👍👍👍👍👍👍.
Beautiful shot at 20:56. Camped at the state park 25 years ago. Great memory. We use instant pot to cook rice for the most part, and when it geysers like that it’s normally due to too much water
We are thinking it may have been due to the starch? We didn't let it slowly depressurize (the recipe said to immediately depressurize it), but maybe we will try it again in the future (outside though haha) with less water and see if that helps haha. We cook a lot of rice in it and have never had this issue...it was SO weird!
For pasta in the Ipot, I cover with water to just about 1/2" above the pasta, cook on manual for 2 minutes, when it goes off, unplug and let sit for 10 minutes and then manually release. ALWAYS put a towel over the spout with pasta!! Something about the starch...mine always erupts too!! Its worth it tho....LOVE my Ipot!!!!!❤
No drones this time! We weren’t sure what exactly the regulations on them were so we erred on the side of caution. A rainbow would be awesome to see! Thanks for watching!
Great video and amazing scenery. We visited Big Sur many years ago on our honeymoon so brought back many happy memories, and made us want to visit again and see more of the area. Our son hasn’t been yet but would really like to and even wrote a song about it. Thanks for sharing your trip 😊

Oh my goodness!! I'm so glad you guys are back on the coast! What beautiful shots you got and I love that Kona got to chase and bite her waves! We never made it that far last year when we went down the PCH. We headed east when we got to Fort Bragg. Sure wish we would have gone further but we had already been away for a month. The hikes were beautiful! Your Instant Pot sure did look like Old Faithful! lol The only thing I can think of is they tell you not to put in anymore than 1 cup of water or liquid, but I'm assuming that's what you put in. Still looked really good!!
Kona had a ball! We were so happy to be back on the coast. Doing this drive is definitely a bucket list item so hopefully you can do it next time you’re out that way! I think if I would’ve let the pressure come down instead of instant release maybe that would’ve let it soak up that water more. Oh well 🤷♂️ it made for a hilarious moment!
I've cooked pasta in the Instant Pot and it comes out horrible. Do you have another way to cook the pasta? I cook fish from frozen in the Instant Pot pretty often! So easy, lay a little piece of parchment on the trivet over your water. I coat in olive oil with lemon and salt and pepper for almost any kind of fish. Use teriyaki sauce with a little brown sugar, fresh grated or dried ginger, and rice wine vinegar. Love your videos
Gosh those cliffs are amazing!!! The way you captured the sheer beauty was great! And I love the idea of the Kona cam, we definitely need her point of view for these epic locations as well, lol. Safe Travels
Love the Kona cam addition! Thanks for showing off the Big Sur area. I have heard of it, but I didn't realize it was a 90 mile long stretch of road. Looks gorgeous.... I want to visit some day.
We were up there during spring break, too! That stretch of California's coast never gets old. Love the Kona cam! I think we were following you guys! We hit Pinnacles on our want home.
That area is possibly the most amazing stretch of California. Lived in Monterey for a little and understand why you’re revisiting again. Watched CTML Pinnacles recently - looks like a great park!
For the instant pot portion, appears you forgot/somehow the notch was not locked at the top of the lid. It needed to be at 9 o’clock position to lock while cooking, it was at the 7 o’clock position, which was the release position. Hence the steam coming out.
Some of those images from Garrapata SP are some of the most beautiful pictures you've ever shown us. Looking forward to Pinnacles as I've never been there. Loving the Kona Cam and looking forward to more "dog eye" views.

Your cinematography in this one is epic. Love your intro with the seagull shaking its head and the Kona cam running on the beach. You can tell a lot of time went into making this. Also, the acai bowl looked delicious!
We thought the seagull shaking was so cool! Kona cam was so fun as well! Thank you and thanks for watching! We’re dreaming of another açaí bowl too!

I'm only 2 mins into the video but I had to pause and comment that Kona is THE CUTEST. The lil clip with her nose covered in sand made my heart melt.

Big Sur is such a magical place. I lived in Monterey for a short time and every day after work I would take my motorcycle down the coast.
That’s an incredible place to live!

You are seeing the best of California! If you want to see the best of Alaska, come to Talkeetna.
We’re hoping to!
Gosh those cliffs are amazing!!! The way you captured the sheer beauty was great! And I love the idea of the Kona cam, we definitely need her point of view for these epic locations as well, lol. Safe Travels
Big Sur is fantastic, isn't it!? Kona Cam will be incorporated anytime we can! 😂
Love the Kona Cam! Amazing sights on the CA coast!
So glad you loved the Kona cam! We love it too! Fun to see her perspective ❤️
Love the Kona cam addition! Thanks for showing off the Big Sur area. I have heard of it, but I didn't realize it was a 90 mile long stretch of road. Looks gorgeous.... I want to visit some day.
We hope you can make it out there. It’s a bucket list trip! And the Kona Cam was so fun!

This drive is so beautiful! at 4:28 I see an outstretched arm and hand reaching underneath the falls
❤️😱
Amazing as always, tell Kona I said 👋🏻 have a wonderful weekend
Thanks and thanks for watching!
We were up there during spring break, too! That stretch of California's coast never gets old. Love the Kona cam! I think we were following you guys! We hit Pinnacles on our want home.
It’s a bucket list area for sure! Kona Cam was so fun to make! Thanks for watching!
That area is possibly the most amazing stretch of California. Lived in Monterey for a little and understand why you’re revisiting again. Watched CTML Pinnacles recently - looks like a great park!
That’s coming next! This whole area has been amazing. Thanks for watching!
For the instant pot portion, appears you forgot/somehow the notch was not locked at the top of the lid. It needed to be at 9 o’clock position to lock while cooking, it was at the 7 o’clock position, which was the release position. Hence the steam coming out.
It was at 9 o'clock while cooking, we intentionally released the steam, as per the recipe's instructions.
Some of those images from Garrapata SP are some of the most beautiful pictures you've ever shown us. Looking forward to Pinnacles as I've never been there. Loving the Kona Cam and looking forward to more "dog eye" views.
Garrapata is one of our favorite stops in Big Sur! Kona Cam was so fun to film and put together. Thanks for watching, Steve!
California, my home state 😎. TU for sharing your video. I'm in New Hampshire right now in the middle of a snow storm. Lol 🙃
Really enjoying y’all’s road-trip. Be Safe and have a Beautiful day. The Ross’s 👨🏼🌾👩🏽🌾🧑🏻🌾
