The irritating thing with a lot headsets or headphones is all these companies would have to do is basically put in a metal band and it would stop that from happening, but I think we all know they are designed with faults on purpose to save cost and so that you have to buy new ones.
That’s true, planned obsolescence is so frustrating :(
Couldn't be said it better! 🎯🎯🎯
This literally happened to me like 2 weeks ago. Instead of fixing them I bought the bowers & wilkins px7 s2. I still have my surface headphones so I'm going to try and do this repair. Thanks for sharing!!
Aww noooo, so sorry to hear that…hey at least you’ll have two functioning headphones now!
Just joined the team, mine broke today after 2 years of service.
Damn the algorithm just blessed me with this video. Loved it. Keep it up!
thank you so much!
Very helpful and enthusiastic DIY video. I really hope people would share their life-experiences like these. Everyone else can easily be benefited and saved from all kinds of problems, issues, time, money, efforts.
💓💞👏👏👏
Thank you very much for your great work.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Very nice man, I would have done the same thing! Those are great headphones for the price
Thank you! Yeah the first gens were a bargain but it still should’ve been more sturdy :(
Bro has a 3D printer of his own, damn.
Hi. Can you share your final 3d design. I faced the same problem but based on the link it seems the torx holes could not fit perfectly with the hinges. Or maybe i have issues with the 3d print. Can u advice how to get perfect fit for the torx holes and hinges? Thank you btw ur video is inspiring
Thanks! I used the same design as in the link but I had to experiment a lot with sanding down the holes and using an Xacto knife to cut away at some parts of the plastic to get it to fit with the hinges.
I'm wondering if this will work for baseus h1? i literally just bought it 3 days ago, and the headband already snapped just by me putting it on my head...
This design probably only works for the surface headphones, I’m sorry to hear that though :(
I just had someone print the band for me what extra tools did you need?
I used an xacto knife to cut down where it didnt fit and the torx screwdriver
Thanks for the video Joshua, Do you have some advice to not go for the second round? I printed the headband but I can not afford print again, so I want to assembly it at first try.
No problem! Try sanding only a little bit at a time to see if it fits; I think I sanded too much at one time
Interesting, since exactly the same thing is known to happen on Philips Fidelio L3, the same fix may apply.
Thank you for this video. This video inspired me to fix my surface headphones as well!
That’s awesome! Happy to hear, just wanted to share my build experience
This is a really helpful video, I was wondering if you knew what screwdriver u used was though?
Thanks! I believe it was a torx screw, Phillips doesn't work
@@JoshuaJung Do you remember what size Torx screwdriver you used? Thanks.
Im here late but this is exactly what I am after! Mine have not broken fully yet but the crack has been there for ages. They are amazing for gaming and work for me so I need to know how to fix them when it finally happens. Was thinking of changing the style of headband all together to because the cushion bands seem bad to me. I love your Old Trafford Lego too. Here the day after the FA cup win
Awesome glad you found it before yours completely broke! And so stoked about yesterday’s trophy! Its been a wretched year haha
Anyone know of a company that can print one that will work cos have 3 made and the screws holes are 2 big so the screws just fall out
great video i was about to buy a parts only model on ebay to repair my broken band. Thanks for sharing!
No problem, hope the video helps!
What slicer settings did you use?
Hello, would you know where I can get a battery for these headphones? Thank you. Thank you for this video. I went ahead and printed out a couple of these just in case. lol
Thanks! And I didn't attempt a battery change so I'm not sure about that.
Thank you for this. The same happened to me, and you motivated me to repair it. Cheers.
Awesome, no problem!
hey man , where did you buy the black central pieces inside the head band ?
Those are from the headphones, I just reused them. Tbh I don’t know if they sell those pieces separately too
Hello again, how dod you get rid of that cusion part on the bottm its almost impossible for me
Hi, are you referring to the foam part? I think I left it in the 3D printed part too
@@JoshuaJung nm I wasn't able to take that rubber think underneath the headband , but I managed to get it out , didn't know there were clips lol
My surface headphones 1 broke at that spot after 22 months and I got them replaced under warranty (Swiss warranty minimum is 2 years), and Microsoft sent the surface headphones 2. They broke after 13 months at exactly the same spot, so I got a part 3D printed - and it worked for a year, but that part also split at the same spot. Really it’s a design flaw of the headphones to put all the flex there.
100% it's a design flaw from Microsoft :(( they should've designed it better
YES JOSH ENGINEER SLAY
What a creative fix
Thank you!
Hi! Do you know if your design works for the Surface headphones 2? Then I'll get it printed for mine :)
I think it should; also not my design but the original creator's :)
banger as usual
Thanksss Wilson :)
my fav headphonessssssss
Also quality video as always :)
Tytyyy Nate :)
You’re so cool omg ❤️
Says youuuuu I’m waiting for the South Africa vlog
and if you don't own a 3d printer??
MATERIAL ENGINEER GWORL
😆 yes i am a material gworlllll
@@JoshuaJung material gworl but make it budget friendly HAHA
I don’t have a 3d printer so this didn’t help :(
You can try using services like xometry that 3D print parts for you or see if your library has one
Do you want to print me a new band?
WAIT BRO U HAVE UR OWN 3D printer?!?
Got one for really cheap! You can try it out sometime if ya want
