very clever idea. I love it for production digitizing. I have a concern, when film reel unit will end up scratching the negatives as it rotates. have you consider using felt or a soft surface inside the take up unit?

Brilliant! But I think for most people not majoring in electrical engineering the $75. JJC system I got on ebay is a great cheap, easy and quick solution.
