5:30 I am into music production. I would like to know what does "iroN" mean? It is some kind of virtualization? I am surprised how the i9 13900k beats all of them.. I've got the 13700k. Also single core power is very important to load many plugins, especially high quality ones that use more CPU.
Even if virtualization of apple silicon is possible, it will be at most a type 2 virtualization, since apple's kernel probably won't have any resemblance to arm or x86_64 architecture, or any other architectures.
Yup that's true, unless Apple starts to support ARM Windows with a Bootcamp like option for future Macs, we might get an opportunity there. Let's see 🙈
For VM on Apple Silicon Macs, Parallels Desktop is very good running ARM Windows or Linux pretty close to native. Unfortunately Parallels only builds ARM architecture version of other OS. There're other VM software like QEMU that try to translate ARM arch to X86_64, but performance is bad. As long u pick common compatible PC components that communities have succeeded building, a Hackintosh is more budget friendly while running Mac OS in Intel arch is still better for software compatibility b/c many haven't optimized for ARM or simply fail to run.
True through the hyper-v, you can run al of the types that have ever invented and all side by side, within the same desktop and Filesystem, so mac os can be booted used regardless of the hardware configuration if the hypervisor is supported by the os itself
I have an old pc that i builded 8 years ago for gaming. Now it’s a bit obsolete and i wanted to transform it into an hackintosh. It would be just for fun but based in what you said i can’t, right? I have an intel cpu and a gtx760 in it. Could at least install an older version of the mac os ?
Virtualization simply does not give you good results. Literal stutters where you wait for cursor movement sometimes for over half a minute on beefy hardware. You are best off getting a really low cost mac. It will out perform your virtual machine.
Yup I totally agree, Virtualization sucks usually on Type 2 Hypervisor. But what I've seen on Type 1 hypervisors like Proxmox is very cool and promising, around 5 or 10 performance loss if any.
i hate windows 10 i keep getting forced updates and blue screen i need to move to mac but I have a ryzen cpu and motherboard and a nvida 2060 which prob a the worse combo to have. Should I just get a 6800 or get intel cpu as well? Is ryzentosh as bad as people say it is? I do want something that I won't have issues down the road
Macos is extremely stable and reliable operating system… while running on native hardware. Of course with compatible hardware and decent troubleshooting you can achieve pretty stable system, though if I were someone without solid hackintosh experience I wouldn’t expect something that have no issues down the road
Hey there, because Ryzen is not supported officially by Mac OS like Intel, you will need to do some tweaks and patch to get it to work properly specially with Adobe programs etc ( it's possible but a much harder way than Intel ), I would personally recommend Intel like the 12900k or the 13700k which is basically the same, a 5700XT or 6800XT/6900XT depending on your workflow. My Hackintosh had a Core i9 9900k + 5700XT, I've been using reliably for 2 years. Never was there a moment when I was like oh, I need more power ( FCPX, After Effects ). So if you're going down the road I recommend an Intel CPU + AMD GPU combo.
Hey! Great video. I'm trying to hackintosh a laptop with decent configuration that I no longer use. It's got an Intel CPU too. After its support ends I would simply switch to Linux or Windows as I already use that on other devices. My actual mac (Late 2014 Mac Mini) is getting quite slow so in that case Hackintosh would be a great option to go for. I was wondering what specs your hackintosh build is. And how did you install 3 completely different operating systems on it. It would be great if you'd let me know as I'd really like to try it out...
Hey thanks 🙏. My Build is: Core i9 9900k, 5700XT, 32GB ram, 2TB Samsung EVO Plus Nvme. Here is my original post about it on Reddit: www.reddit.com/r/hackintosh/comments/dxpegn/z390_designare_i9_9900k_5700_xt_catalina_10152/ As for Triple boot you just have to configure OpenCore properly to boot first and add some arguments so it can recognize windows and Linux.
WRONG. 3D work & VFX doesn't benefit from a hackintosh... SPECIALLY with an AMD 6900XT.. that's the worst route you could go.. Please tell me where you got this information from? I've been using Maya,Nuke,Houdini,zBrush,Cinema4D,After Effects,V-ray,Octane & redshift... and build PCs according to the program requirements.. 1st of all the Drivers from AMD are complete trash for anything other than gaming.. specially for VFX or 3D work.. If you want the best .. you got for Quadros (depending on software & job).. if not that professional then go for RTX(specially for rendering rigs).. but you ALWAYS avoid AMD due to their drivers for these programs. CPU is okay as being a hackintosh you don't have a different architecture that will be processing these softwares.. For example Houdini on M1 runs terribly on metal compared to WIndows.. same with Maya.. as they're still developing for the new architecture.. the only softwares that work properly are the adobe suite programs...
Thanks for the insights but I think you missed the point, it's not about Best GPU on PC for 3D work, it's about the best GPU supported by Mac OS for 3D work. I'm very sure that the 6900XT is the top end you can get for Mac OS until we see support for the 7900 XTX. So as far as Nvidia goes it's not relevant for a Hackintosh since it's not supported by recent Mac OS versions and if we gonna talk about Windows it defeats the purpose of the whole video, we wouldn't call it a Hackintosh, just a normal PC. Within the idea of running things in Mac OS, my argument stands.I know that more 3D software is supported by Windows than Mac OS and Nvidia is killing in 3D and Content Creation. I also know that some 3D artist prefer Mac OS nonetheless and the video was about them. But I do appreciate the remarks, thanks again for pointing out these things.

Ok, looking forward to your Hackintosh guide. Interested in building an audio production machine.
Me tooo

aren't new cpus and gpus offering dedicated media encoders/decoders too?

I believe big sur is still compatible
@DonyRawks For now I installed catalina and it works perfectly, I'll maybe update to big sur if I want to try
Using Apple ID on hackintosh is legal or illegal it criminal offences ?
No it's not, Hackintonishing is in a grey area in the US.

@@MinimalNerd For people with beefy machines that have extra m.2 hard drives?
@@frosted1030 yup exactly 💯
@@MinimalNerd Not sure where I can get good M2 drives at reasonable costs.
on lvl 1 it runs same or even better than native
Can you make a detailed guide on virtulization
Is there garage band on it?
Very fine analysis of the options, thanks.

It's is good for Music production make more videos how to make it I just bought a new pc I don't know how to make hackintosh 😭
This is not going to end its always going to be hackintosh some way

Dont say that AMD is passing up intel now
You will stay Hackintosh for 5 years ?
In the case of Apple stopped producing devices by Intel CPU, will the Hackintosh stop?
Just no more updates after that.
Hackintosh from OS X 10.9
I'll be obsolete in 30 years so what the hella ;-)
Hell yes!
