I had 2 beautiful dresses (1 silk) returned to me during prom/wedding season. I was so upset, I found this company that makes these large bands that you can attach to the item so that people can't just rent your items. I haven't had to use it yet, but I really hope this will stop people from trying to take advantage of me in the future.

I just recently purchased that item. Not sure of the brand you’re speaking of but the ones I purchased ware called 360 ID TAG!!
I was coming in to tell you about 360 ID tags. For those that need, I got mine off Ebay.
I will post a picture in my listings with the tag on it. 1.helps me in case I lose my tag list

I got a lower rating on a shipment this AM because she said I was slow shipping.
I shipped within 24 hours. Being dinged for the holiday causing delays is like you being blamed for the fit on the pants! lol

That's craaaaazy. Did you try contacting ebay? As long as you ship within your shipping and handling time, you shouldn't be allowed to get a negative rating because of something like that.
This is why I don't mess with Ebay anymore. It shouldn't be that hard to get a situation resolved or to talk to someone.

I quit taking returns about a year ago for this reason. You are not wearing my item to your event and then returning. My return rate used to be around 4% and it is now at .5. It has NOT affected my sales at all. I still sell the same or more than I used to. Am I maybe missing out on some sales because I don’t take returns? Maybe but 100% worth it to me.
I’m glad you haven’t seen a large dip in your sales as a result! Thankfully, this really doesn’t happen to me often. But it really sucks even when it’s on occasion.
Funny that you mentioned B&S TrashPandasThrift (soooooo pumped 10x more now to sign up for Resellers Academy!!) ~ bc they have totally changed my thinking re Sourcing based on Trends/Keywords/Tags!!
Had been thinking of possible reasons certain items you mentioned may have sold = bc 2 Red/White items are very "TomatoGirl" (TikTok hit summer 2023)
& in addition to Athleisure being hot now = "Tenniscore" is trending = which aligned w 1-2 of your sales
& re: COLORS: Rust & Mint Green (+ Cherry Red) = ALL Fashion Week trending Pantone Colors 2024 = Which is another killer resouce to consider w KEYWORD / TRENDS when sourcing, listing, pricing & watching how ppl buy
(similar to why LILAC/Lavendar seems to be everywhere right now)
FYI: "Peach Fuzz" is 2024 Pantone color
& "Millenial Pink" from few years ago still back & hip (possibly due to Barbiecore, Girlcore, Coquette Aesthetic, etc)

I've noticed I get way more more reasonable offers on Mercari even with the additional fees the buyer has to pay.
Mercari won’t allow a buyer to send an offer that’s over 25% off. Poshmark is 80% off and I don’t think eBay has a limit unless you set one on your listings. I wish Poshmark would raise theirs! I accept literally every offer I get on Mercari.

Your amazing ! Love this channel ❤🎉 so who refunds the seller the other half of the Johnny was ? Does eBay cover it ? Or does the buyer just get half back ? If so what if they leave a bad review ?
I had the exact same question. I was in a similar situation but just ended up sending a full refund minus the shipping cost just to prevent getting negative feedback. :/
I had to pay for the 50% refund as well as the fees. The eBay rep I spoke with on the phone assured me they wouldn’t be able to leave me negative feedback, which is why I felt comfortable going down that route.

I’ve done a partial refund a few times and I’ve made a mistake a few times-most recently someone returned jeans that were nwt when I sent them and were returned without the tag and washed. I didn’t remember they were new so I went ahead and gave them the full refund. Ugh, frustrating.

How did the buyer handle the less than 100% refund on the dress? Did you receive bad feedback from them or any pushback?
So eBay has it set up where the buyer can’t leave you negative feedback. That’s what I was afraid of. I didn’t hear anything from them 🤷🏻♀️
