The paper-like parts of its body are, as i understand it, made of thin sheets of metal folded in a similar way to paper I could be very wrong, I’m not as familiar with Kartana as I should be, but if it is then it’d be fine getting blood on it (since it could just clean itself)
I love that Poipole's adhesiveness and Nihilego's glassy composition were given focus, they're such cool little details! Gotta give props to Pheromosa spamming the pheromones to cheese the competition, even when it cost them a few limbs for it eventually.
I usually take these as %70 accurate and %30 jokes. Example here is during the gigantamax battle Centiskorch melting even tho it’s a fire type and even with its bug typing shouldn’t have melted.
Fun fact, in the early days of Ultra Sun and Moon, of course with the new mons still being tested, they were all of course put into OU. Bad idea, as Naganadel's only counter in that tier and format was Heatran, who resisted both STABs and also trapped it. However if you didn't know, Naganadel has Nasty Plot, meaning it can even brute force a win against it by just setting up enough. I love this guy, not to mention its shiny is awesome. It even has one of my favorite moves, Fell Stinger, though of course not something it would ever use seriously as it's a special attacker.

Two bits of trivia! Celesteela being a bamboo ship is a reference to the story of Princess Kaguya, the Princess of the Moon who was found by a bamboo cutter. And Kartana's reversed lines in the anime "A worthess object! Again, I cut!" are a Lupin III reference; the samurai Goemon XIII's Zatetsuken sword was a sword that could cut anything (except seaweed jelly), and every time Goemon cut something he'd say "Once again, I've cut a worthless object." Appreciate that you don't just explain what happens scene-by-scene, but also your reasoning for why certain pokemon did well overall in the fight. Another really fun Battle Royale!
I’m actually so glad Kartana made it to the final battle. Personally I feel like it’s one of the least popular Ultra Beasts (though it’s kinda understandable cus it’s 4x weak to fire). According to the Kartana’s official description, it can form tiny ultra wormholes by feverishly slicing into space & time itself, so that moment when Guzzlord devoured it was so funny cus I knew instantly it was gonna be sliced in half internally. I know that Naganadel _technically_ won, but that final kill slice basically secured Kartana’s victory in my opinion, albeit at a fatal cost. *Edit: I was clearly misinformed about Kartana’s popularity & usage in-game so thank y’all for clarifying that
Idk where you're getting that katana isn't popular, it's one of the top pokemon in competitive singles and has been consistently great in VGC as well, its fire weakness is hardly an issue since it cant stand a single special hit and is primarily an offensive mon in the first place.
The funny thing is, Kartana couldn't win for the exact reason of who it's opponent was. It can cut through anything, but you can't cut anything if your blade isn't moving. As long as the glue was only in front of the sword it could cut it, but the sides of a sword aren't sharp, and as such as soon as it cut into Naganadel's Stinger, which is full of glue, it lost, and it would have if it cut into Naganadel itself for the same reason. Even if it could cut Naganadel in half before the glue started to act, it would be forever stuck in place and die later.
The Pokedex says that Pheromosa doesn't touch anything because it senses something unclean about the world. But then, wouldn't Buzzwole be exempt from that? Since it's not of this world.

I’m confused about Naganadel surviving the explosion of it’s stinger which is a new concept that you created as the body parts of Pokémon aren’t cut open in the games or anime, and also you said that Naganadel’s brain was near it’s stinger so the explosion should’ve destroyed it’s brain or just damage it enough to kill it. So the ending should’ve resulted in a draw.
Imagine stakataka separating one of its bricks from the legs. The surviving one brick then hits nagadel's head in the last moment, knocking it out and giving THE ONE BRICK the w.
This is amplified by the fact that unless naganadel’s glue strikes aren’t made of poison, they wouldn’t have an effect on kartana, due to its steel typing

It was kinda obvious that Ultra Beasts are considered aliens like Deoxys, but in a more dimensional invader setting. Naganadel managing to win against Kartana would make sense due to the former being a sp atk type with access to a fire move, since the latter is super fragile when it comes to range moves
If naganadels brain is on in its lower abdomen, shouldn’t it be at least a tie at the end considering it’s stinger tail was cut up? I’m not gonna lie I’m a little upset that paper boy didn’t win here
Yeah Kartana definitely reached Naganadel's abdomen before the explosion hit, that thing's brain got at least a little sliced. Naganadel definitely shouldn't have survived the abdomen cut AND its own random explosion.

@@WindyWooshes Necrozma would've sucked in the sun, Lunala and Solgaleo and all it needs to do from there is wait til all the other Pokemon die a certain slow death

@@Kahtisemo to be fair, they made necrozma way too strong relative to arceus all it absorbed was victini, lunala, solgaleo and the sun arceus can create the universe, is a top tier pokemon with only a tiny fragment of it, controls reality, decimates all the other god legendaries in anime, and has every type at once if only necrozma was included in this and not lunala and solgaleo it would actually be a good fight
Fun fact: You can configure Celesteela to be come basically unbeatable. Give it a Leftovers and the moves Ingrain, Protect, an attacking move, and a Defense-boosting move, and then stat into the following stats in order of priority: SpDef, HP, Def, and whichever stat its' attacking move uses. Every time you knock out something else with it, its' SpDef rises one stage, and every turn, Ingrain and Leftovers regenerate its' HP by a fair amount. Fun fact: in vgc17 where celesteela was overused as a staller/leech seed recovery while attacking kartana was eventually used as a counter thanks to his huge attack stat, so kartana taking out celesteela actually make perfect sense as a vgc point of view (in the end people start running celesteela with flamethrower to melt the kartanas but those are some details)
4:06 I feel like a Pokémon anime nerd for saying this this, but the reason why celesteela did not burn a forest down wasn’t because of choice, it’s because in the anime the main protagonist (Ash) and his friends built an icy barrier, thus preventing celesteela from burning down the forest. (Also on the topic of what I feel like for saying this, I’m pretty much the opposite of an anime nerd since I play video games instead, but I have seen the episode) Anyways, celesteela didn’t burn down that forest because there was a huge ice wall stopping it from doing so.
With Celesteela burning down forests... what happened in the show was that it would bury the engines in the soil so that when it takes off the fire doesn't ignite the bamboo forest; however Team Rocket unearthed Celesteela because they wanted to capture it which meant that if the launch went off it would cause the forest to burn down but the Ultra Guardians built a barrier to contain the blast so that it wouldn't burn down the forest. I know this because my mum loves Pokemon and we watch it together, good times :)
The amount of work you both put into these so they are accurate and extremely entertaining is always so wonderful! It makes me sad knowing one day you will have done them all. Till then wild and wonderful trips!
"We put in a lot of sci-fi references in this as much as we could" And I got *zero* of them (Guess what genre isn't my favourite hm?) But at least I got most of the attention to details, like Guzzlord screaming, Kartana being able to cut through *anything*, who it looks like when Buzzwhole sucks it's prey to become more swollen (plus the All Might easter egg) etc.
I don’t know if this has been asked before but if Kartana can cut through anything according to the anime would it be able to cut Tyranitar who is, according to several pokédex entries, completely indestructible?
My friend told me about a PKMN TCG deck that I proceeded to make. This was shortly after the Crimson Invasion Expansion. Guzzlord GX (X2) Dangereous Energy (X4) Basic Dark Energy (X54) Dirt cheap and hilariously good! I was hoping Guzzlord would take the W, but it is what it is.
I definitely like how the final video is unannounced Fun fact: in the anime, Kartana says the opposite "again I cut something worthless", alluding to Goemon from Lupine III
The Necrozma, Solgaleo, and Lunala thing is a "it walks like a duck and talks like a duck but it's a goose" type of situation. They share many ties, origins, and abilities but aren't ultra beast; just legendaries.
As someone who has been with both Pokemon and Digimon since the very beginning I would confidently say the Cyber Sleuth games definitely would have been your best bet and I hope you play them in the future. The gameplay wouldn't be alien to a Pokemon player and the stories aren't bad at all with some nice funny moments.

It still cracks me up that the sound Guzzlord makes, an Ultra Beast that *should* be terrifying as hell, is literally just a dude screaming at the top of his lungs in the anime.
I feel like naganadel is more so precise than accurate, it's not like they said that at that distance it can hit a target that's moving sporadically, or that it's attacks cover six miles so fast that they're impossible to dodge
6:50 you gotta say all the references like this undertale one edit also feramosa should have been beaten by buzzswole because it was beaten by bewear while using the same running circle into kick move

@@mobgabriel1767 that’s true but what if it got to an energy plant like the regular xurkitree did and this is a battle royale so it would be going all out
After just finding the original Pokémon battle royal videos I was hoping that there would be more but wasn’t expecting it the next day! Since most of the Pokémon categories had been covered already I was unsure if any new ones would release. I can say waking up this morning to find these new videos made my day!
1:17 Don’t forget the Iron Giant reference when Xurkitree says “Hogarth?” and lumbers towards the power plant!
2:40 So that's why that gave me so much anxiety.
So much childhood AND adulthood trauma.
I LOVED the poipole opening, my favorite ultra beast is poipole for some reason and my favorite Mario character is yoshi. Thank you
Hi fellow poipole enjoyer
I feel at home in this comment section.
Oh jeez 58 likes already
I was rooting for Kartana for the entire video. And it made it to the end. It had fallen in the end. But it went out a hero 😢
Now I’m just wondering what would happen if the light trio was included as well in the royale, they are ultra beasts as well as legendaries. But to be honest, Necrozma would likely just annihilate everything
Would've loved seeing them again but yeah, Necrozma would've clapped them
Idk maybe Guzlord could've found a way to eat him, or the ultra beast teaming on Necrozma could have happened. So many possibilities lol
@@WindyWooshes Necrozma would've sucked in the sun, Lunala and Solgaleo and all it needs to do from there is wait til all the other Pokemon die a certain slow death
Didn't the legendary royale end in kind of a tie because Necrozma and Arceus were squaring off? I feel like if they were included here, Necrozma would just laser everything into oblivion.
@@Kahtisemo to be fair, they made necrozma way too strong relative to arceus
all it absorbed was victini, lunala, solgaleo and the sun
arceus can create the universe, is a top tier pokemon with only a tiny fragment of it, controls reality, decimates all the other god legendaries in anime, and has every type at once
if only necrozma was included in this and not lunala and solgaleo it would actually be a good fight
Lovely to see the duo collab again! Jeremy’s videos were what got me to know Austin’s channel and now I can’t stop watching you!
And if you find yourself in a pinch, Protect buys you another turn to heal up. The only things you'll really have to worry about with this are things like Perish Song and other one-shotting effects.
And Salazzle.
@@Nosretep Which is why you have a ground-type on your team. Switch it in when your opponent sends Salazzle in, and make sure it has Arena Trap to ensure that that Salazzle is going to fall.
And then someone brings specs magnezone and obliterates this thing if your attacking move isn’t earthquake.
@@Rarest26 Damage calculation, please. Besides, Magnezone can get levitate.
@@kennyholmes5196 Magnezone does not get levitate. It gets Magnet Pull, Sturdy, and Analytic as a hidden.
1:30 I love the reference to the set name being "Unbroken bonds"
I do found weird kartana lose to naganadel, even being immune to poison and resisting dragon
how to fix the scene: make naganadel use flamethrower and make both of them explode in a burst of fire from the tail being slashed.
You know Kartana has paper thin special defense right? Even a resisted special attack can annihilate it.
@@i_like_chomp6382 it’s probably the fiery looking explosion that killed it regardless
And nagas resistance is probably the only reason it survived both the blast and having its tail being nearly bisected I would say
do you people not understand the video or what? These videos take in sources from MORE than just the games and their logic. In the anime we've seen Pokemon still get damaged by moves they are 'immune' to, like Pikachu shocking a Rhydon. JFC media literacy with Pokemon fans is actual gutter tier.
@@jordipernillo3026 i mean... this is a franchise for children. kinda on you for not expecting the fanbase to reflect that lol.
1:06 I just got over that bro. My stomache cant take anymore
bruh 3:49 is the most devious part of the video 💀
Man I was sure Kartana had this in the bag, I swore it was gonna slice open Naganadel’s stinger and it was gonna blow itself up, but I guess not
Imagine a Kaskade region battle royale. It’d be way too chaotic, but maybe if it was just narrowed down to fully evolved forms it’d work?
Still hoping for a Lockemon battle royale
It would obviously come down to Endram-Odai and Ωrogon with Endram-Odai probably winning, but it would still be cool.
I was honestly hoping for Kartana to have Genji’s voice lines from OW lol
I was hoping for it to have some jetstream Sam lines, guess i got my wish
Too easy.
Genji fits its aesthetic better, but Sam fits its personality better.
...is it too much to ask for both?
@@cameronballz6154 YES
Kartana was the one I thought was going to get out first and it almost beating naganadel made me cheer
Kartana needs healing.
4:45 More famously, Samurai trained and practiced their sword slices on... People! Mostly the peasantry of Japan.
I like how this video was notified to me first before the actual Battle Royal video by TerminalMontage lol
6:30 The only thing it knows for real?
The amount of work you both put into these so they are accurate and extremely entertaining is always so wonderful! It makes me sad knowing one day you will have done them all. Till then wild and wonderful trips!
5:04 OF COURSE IT DOES
"We put in a lot of sci-fi references in this as much as we could"
And I got *zero* of them (Guess what genre isn't my favourite hm?)
But at least I got most of the attention to details, like Guzzlord screaming, Kartana being able to cut through *anything*, who it looks like when Buzzwhole sucks it's prey to become more swollen (plus the All Might easter egg) etc.
1:12 is jimmyhere's its Wednesday my dudes yell
I don’t know if this has been asked before but if Kartana can cut through anything according to the anime would it be able to cut Tyranitar who is, according to several pokédex entries, completely indestructible?
When an unstoppable force means an immovable object
Who knew super glue bee dragons would be so potent in a fight.
Well that super glue bee dragon was the MVP of my US playthrough
My friend told me about a PKMN TCG deck that I proceeded to make. This was shortly after the Crimson Invasion Expansion.
Guzzlord GX (X2)
Dangereous Energy (X4)
Basic Dark Energy (X54)
Dirt cheap and hilariously good!
I was hoping Guzzlord would take the W, but it is what it is.
Love the little Snugooi cameo at the end of the vid
I definitely like how the final video is unannounced
Fun fact: in the anime, Kartana says the opposite "again I cut something worthless", alluding to Goemon from Lupine III
Can we just talk about how beautiful the thumbnails are and whoever draws them should be awarded the best animator honestly
The Necrozma, Solgaleo, and Lunala thing is a "it walks like a duck and talks like a duck but it's a goose" type of situation. They share many ties, origins, and abilities but aren't ultra beast; just legendaries.
Saw the title and instantly clicked. Can't wait to check it out!
at 4:28 i guess you could say that they were, grounded? lol
9:44 I’m sorry but I just can’t get over “Eat Sloppily”
As someone who has been with both Pokemon and Digimon since the very beginning I would confidently say the Cyber Sleuth games definitely would have been your best bet and I hope you play them in the future. The gameplay wouldn't be alien to a Pokemon player and the stories aren't bad at all with some nice funny moments.
When Kartana realizes it can slice through the Earth itself
is nobody talking about the accidental Dangonrompa Reference with the crushed Naganadel leaving pink glue like blood? Also there’s a scraped garbage compactor execution in DRV3
Pheromosa HATES touching absolutely anything
Also Pheromosa: 6:14
I get Issun Boshi (Japanese folklore similar to Tom Thumb) vibes from that, honestly.
5:36:
Lockstin: Blacephalon is able to explode it's own head and regrow it rapidly
*Later gets popped about 25 times*
How did the recoil n- Okay never mind
2:32 oh hey look, stakataka having a logia df
BIG MEATY CLAWS 3:08
BIG. MEATY. CLAWS >:(
@@spacehelpertrap Well, these claws ain't for attracting mates!
5:12 Can't believe you didn't mention the Portal 2 reference here
6:48 and Sans' death here
Next should be all the Pikachu clones fighting it out.
It still cracks me up that the sound Guzzlord makes, an Ultra Beast that *should* be terrifying as hell, is literally just a dude screaming at the top of his lungs in the anime.
2:22 I never noticed that xD
Pokemon Battle Royale: *Regional Variant Teams* !
Like regular Vulpix teamed with Alolan Vulpix versus other similar teams.
10:30 i'm pretty sure stakataka's tinuy single mono-eye is the reference to the yellow devil from mega man
I feel like naganadel is more so precise than accurate, it's not like they said that at that distance it can hit a target that's moving sporadically, or that it's attacks cover six miles so fast that they're impossible to dodge
Yeah, there's a big difference between sniping a stationary target and sniping a moving target.
3:16 I thought that movement of hands was a reference to general Grievous
Attack General Kenobi
I like how all guzzlord screams are basically just from. "it is wendsday my dudes" referencing that and the anime of guzzlord just screaming.
Didn't Know Terminal would Make this
Ahh yes, it gets sliced then blows up from the inside by its own shot, but still survives.
6:50 you gotta say all the references like this undertale one edit also feramosa should have been beaten by buzzswole because it was beaten by bewear while using the same running circle into kick move
fun fact: Xurkitrees we can catch are probably juvenile, since there are mountain sized ones in ultra plant
As someone who once played competitively (though still refused to use legendary/mythic Pokemon even if they were low tier) and who still breeds semi-competitive teams to play in single player, I enjoyed the competitive tier-talk at the end.
Can we appreciate that Stakataka does a smug anime ojou laugh after squishing Poipole XD
7:18 Rules of Kartana
I still love that Arin Hanson is the voice of Guzzlord, and it's just him screaming. And nothing else.
I'm just wondering what type Nagnadel's glue shot is, if it even has a type. It looks like a poison type move, so wouldn't Kartana be immune to it?
That’s actually true.. but in the anime, there are plenty of "moves" that are not moves, like Froakie’s Foam Shot.
I thought the explosion killed it since it’s weak in defense. Nagnadel was crippled, but has higher defense and survives.
It might just be regular ol' ultra glue
@@asphaltshingles8594 Lockstin literally said the stats weren’t everything.
I wonder if the Ultra Beasts coming from alternate dimensions is an example or a parallel to how various Pokémon games and regions have different available mons.
Which reminds me of something I wondered recently, where exactly do Pokémon Go and Prof. Willow come in with relation to other regions? Is Meltan a foreign entity like an Ultra Beast except it's from here instead of a place connected by Ultra Space?
Naganadle is my favorite pokemon, and I love this battle.
I genuinely love all the TCG nods. I absolutely need to see more content based around it on this channel.
Love the attention to detail guys! Great job! 👍
