About the ending: what I think and what Luca (the director) has said is of course open to interpretation but it's basically the final understanding that the guys love each other which is emphasized by Tashi yelling and smiling ' Come on!' like in the beginning of the movie. My interpretation is that they're a somewhat troubled throuple🤣
The only sympathy I have for anyone in this movie is Patrick. Patrick got his egotistical girlfriend stolen by his envious sandbox bestie. They abandoned him for 12 years and have the audacity to talk down on him even though he's the only one who forces them to be honest with themselves. Patrick knows Art loves being submissive to someone he views as a deity, secretly has a manipulative side, and was exhausted of tennis after 9 years of playing professionally. Patrick knows Tashi didn't go to college to geniunely get an education (she told Art that she planned leaving Stanford after a year if the school won the tennis championship), vicariously lives through Art like a Helicopter Parent, and sees the men she's with as "a racket and a dick." If my best friend stole my girlfriend, I would sleep with their wife 3 years later, too. TEAM PATRICK! 😂
I LOVE every messy, complicated, toxic, co-dependent minute of this movie! Nothing cookie cutter about it. Cinematography - excellent. Time jumps are like a tennis match (back and forth). Music makes you feel the emotion of the characters vs. actual spoken words. The ending - chef's kiss. All she wanted was to watch some good f***in tennis and she got it PLUS the boys are back together. Best movie I've seen in the last few years. 10/10
Eh... Patrick sucks too. I know Tashi is all about tennis but he knows that about her already it shouldn't be a surprise that's what gets her going and she was coaching him during that moment but she as also still getting him so I think she gets off on that thats her love language, Tennis. Patrick was being a dick in that scene for sure, like I would want my partner to be member of my fan club wouldn't you? and a big fight right before he knows she has a match like if I was Tashi part of me would blame him for my injury too
The end sequence of the movie and the ending is one of the best endings I've seen in a movie in a long time . The movie is by Luca Guadagnino (Call me By Your Name) so no surprise there. One of the other movies of his I absolutely love is 'Bones and All' - might be too 'indie' for your channel(?)
You should react to “God’s Own Country” - you’ll be happy to literally see more of Josh O’Connor 😉

takes a few rewatches to properly appreciate challengers. it became my favourite film after my second watch!
