Fun fact, this concert took place about two weeks before the album was released, so everyone there got to hear this before the rest of us who didn’t make a concert prior to the release.
Sooo... It wasn't on any single before the album release? Not even on any B - side?
Just so easy to notice how into the rhythm with all the time signature changes many participants in the audience is rockin out with it.... 😉

@@jaskau2462 I was speaking specifically the number of the beast “album”. 🤘🏼😀🤘🏼
This was recorded at Hammersmith on the 21st March. The album was released the day after. It was recorded for the album during January/February hence why I think this performance is so close to the album. The tour started at the end of Feb. Not too sure off the top of my head but I think this was about 19 or so shows into the tour.
@@damot1051 I could have sworn it was a couple weeks, but then again I was only 11 or 12, so it has been a long time.
Its so surreal.....as a child of the 70's and 80's i remember when this came out. It was SO. DAMN. HARD. HEAVY. Before Metallica, and Slayer, etc, this was some of the heaviest stuff you could find. And the really amazing part is how successful and popular they actually cuz they got ZERO radio play!! Always been a Maiden (and BD) fan. Tremendous voice, range, and breath control.
Ive told this story on a few reaction sites ....but its true so here we go again!!!!
I used to hang out and drink with these guys back in the late 70's, early 80s in our local pub The Ruskin Arms in East London. They were all really good, humble guy's. I even played football ⚽️ with Stevie Harris for a local amateur team (Melbourne FC)and he was as good at that as he is on the bass!! I must have seen them play there at least 30 times before they "made it". I met Bruce when he was the frontman for Sansom and once again he was a really cool guy and it was obvious he was going to join Maiden......they have stayed true rockers over the years but best of all they have stayed decent, humble ordinary guys🎸🎸...Up the Irons
That's so awesome!
Bruce didn't flip anyone off. It was his index finger and he was encouraging the crowd, like he usually does. HBTN is my favourite song from them, among many others (long time IM fan).
I still think he is just saying: turn that freaking monitor up already
@@basvanrijn770 that is exactly what he was doing.
just assumed it was a signal to one of the engineers to turn the mic up
The reason it sounded so good is because this concert was three days before the album this song is on was released. The crowd was unfamiliar with the song and the singer, this was their introduction to both. :) Iron Maiden are one of those bands that record their albums as a single play thru take live in the studio and are not cutting in or splicing in parts of instruments or vocals. Great reaction and thanks for sharing. Chris
The reason it sounded so good is because it was Iron Maiden playing it.
btw. Ace's reaction is a normal phenomenon, known among rock/metal fans as a "normal reaction to good music". I have this too, most often when I'm driving and I play an interesting CD
🤣🤣🤣🤘🤘
Glad you said you know the song. At 53 years old i always passed over em till i saw this live video, its about perfect in the groove.
*One of The Greatest Heavy Metal Band in The World. All Band Members Are Very Very Talented & Energetic. I'm a Maiden Fan From India. Lots of Love.* ❤❤❤
#Up_The_Irons 🤟🔥🤟
A Master Class From Maiden! The Best Band In The World This Was Actually Bruce Dickinson's First Live Show With Maiden After Replacing Previous Vocalist Paul Dianno, So It Makes This Performance Even More Amazing! Maiden Have So Many Classic Songs!
Rhyme Of The Ancient Mariner
The Clansman - Live In Rio 2001
The Trooper
Aces High
Alexander The Great
The Talisman - Live En Vivo
Really The List Goes On........
Nice inclusion of Talisman
Amazing song
@@JD.Knight It's a Crackn Song Especially The Live Version From En Vivo I Have That Whole Show On Dvd Along With Most Of Maiden's Live DVD Releases.
Up The Irons!
Gallows pole is the hangman not head removal
Bruce "the air raid siren" Dickensson
Clive Burr was so ahead of his time as a drummer. Maiden's first two albums should be heard for his drumming alone. No one else was playing like that at the time.
Just gotta love Clive, perfect matching drumming on "Number of the beast" album... miss him a lot!😪
Saw these live a couple of times back in the day 👍
Judas Priest Dreamer Deceive/Deceiver BBC live performance
i think i cant reccomend something better than this :D
Its a great song.IMO I prefer the album version because the live leaves out a part of the full composition. It is definitely the song to get a full grasp on The Metal God Halfords full range and ability.
@@harlanmonk569 well i dunno how to describe that but i like the dynamics in Halfords voice in the live performance
The thing is, they have the same energy today as when this was done!
Arguably more
Now that's a massive exaggeration...
Eagle Fly Free-Helloween(studio version) it will change your life. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, :) Up the Irons!
One of the best bands ever... full stop lol
Up the Irons!!!
Good one guys.. More Maiden please..
Request you ask? I see you mentioned Metalica's MOP song.. Check out the latest cover of that song by the all female band Nemophila from Japan..
They play it on down tuned 7 string guitars and it is heavy as hell.. It's a great cover...
Best wishes from France
My favourite ! Up the Irons !
Up The Irons 🤘
You guys should listen and make a video reaction on their latest songs, like Stratego, Hell on earth, the parchment and darkest hour 😍😍
Would be awesome next iron maiden song be "Rime of the ancient mariner" or "dance of death", an epic one.
Halloweed by naaaaaaaaaaaaaaame......epic final.......
I ONLY SAID MR CLIVE BURR !!!!
Next suggestion for Maiden from me is Revelations. Then maybe check out a song or two from the first two albums. All killer no filler on those two masterpieces!
BEST IRON MAIDEN SONG FOREVER
If you want to check out a band that took the top spot away from my favorite of 40 years Iron Maiden then do Lovebites - Holy War Live from Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020.
Great reaction guys amazing band you should do fear of the dark live in rio
Added to the list!
I grew up with Bruce on the Isle of dogs.
Insomnium - The Wanderer (official)
He gets it.
4 🤘🏻Maiden
4 Hyrule🤘🏻
Gostei da reação desses dois, autêntica. Sem falsidade e pedinte de likes, como em outros canais.
brilliant! look oan yer wummans face when she realizes she married a nutjob. priceless.
I miss Clive and Steve's partnership with the maiden gallop
Who is Ace?
Gallows poles are for hanging, not chopping. Read more books.
Will do!
Girl PLEASE look in the mirror and understand that the face you make through a majority of this song was similar to someone that DISLIKES something! Basically it's really confusing and annoying!
I concur that
🤩👍💥💯🎼
🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙

There are more awful ways to 'distract' someone's first experience of this classic than throwing horrible "air - drumming" 😹
(where to put my attention, on the actual video or to this reckless 'Clive Burr copycat' ? 😅)
