He moved to South Louisiana from Ohio because the first time he experienced the extensive marshlands, he knew his life would never be complete without regular access to them.
Well, that and the fact my niece, the true love of his life, lived down here.
Jones tagged along with me this week on a quest to see if the strong redfish run of recent weeks is continuing. We discovered it is, and bumped into a whole bunch of another species along the way.

Todd, you make the highest quality videos. You should get the oscar if they make the category for fishing videos. The wind noise is almost negligible. You don’t “film” into the sun. You add text when your fishing buddies are inaudible. You speak clearly without vulgar/curse words! And you also are a teacher. You represent Louisiana in the best way. Also, i know you must spend a lot of time editing. That is hard work. It is all very much appreciated. Plus you take your son fishing, even though he out fishes you. Keep up the great work.
What type of rod do you use when fishing plastics medium fast? Medium heavy ?
For jigging speckled trout, I like a medium-power rod. I used to be a big believer in medium-heavy, but the reduced give resulted in too many fish being able to tear free from the hook.
Some guys have the luck, DJ gets to fish with Marshman right away, the rest of us can only dream.

how do you maintain your baitcasting reels? do you wash and oil your reels after each outing? could you do a short video of how you'd maintain them?
It would be a very short video lol. I do nothing to maintain my reels. Literally nothing. I'm terrible about that.
@@MarshManMassonyou shud at least rinse them with fresh water Todd, doesnt take long.
I get at least five years of heavy use out of my reels, so I'll probably keep doing what I'm doing -- nothing.
